Losing the Propaganda War

Once again the oil money tried to influence America's culture. Much in the way that memorial to Flight 93 was almost absconded to become a memorial to Islam.
I describe this debacle here.


There was also an attempt to takeover the New York 9-11 memorial right at ground zero. Seems they wanted to put up something called an "International Freedom Center".

Why?

Why an "international" freedom center? Why not an "American" freedom center? What does anything international have to do with a 9-11 memorial at Ground Zero?

This memorial, like the crescent at Shanksville, PA, was also almost hijacked by, well I don't know who but I suspect sniff hard enough we'll find oil money. Sniff harder and we'll find some sons of camels.

Hillary Clinton also had to deny approval to this International Freedom Center, such was the uproar from the 9-11 victims. Though what with her husband set to be next King of the World I guess she denied approval reluctantly.

Fonda, the Oscar-winning actress and longtime critic of U.S. foreign policy, was expected to speak Monday. But in a statement read to the crowd before the rally, she apologized for being unable to attend because doctors advised against travel while she recovers from hip surgery.

”Flight Plan”-Movie Stuck on Stupid

Somewhere on my Blog is a history lesson. It’s a twenty question montage covering such acts as the murder of Robert Kennedy, through to the Munich Olympic murders, the bombing of the USS Cole on through to September 11, 2001 itself. The questions are posed in this tongue-in-cheek-history “test” to determine who was responsible for all of these atrocities in our history.

The correct answer to all questions was “Angry Muslim Males, ages 17-28”.

Even Peter Sellers would figure out this profile.

But Hollywood, ever stuck on stupid, comes out with a movie called “Flight Plan”. Which has the movie audience convinced that the perpetrators of a hijacking are, duh, four angry Muslim males, ages 17-28.

Only tada, Hollywood changes history. The terrorists turn out NOT to be anywhere near that profile only solid fact throughout our history.

To reveal the perps would be a spoiler.

So many REAL terrorists and Hollywood has to ignore the truth.

Seems Yusuf, formerly “Cat”, blames England’s foreign policy for the London attacks.

Always somebody else, some other reason, some hidden factor, that causes these terrorists to behave like they do.

The Healthcare Associated Infections Task Force, created by the Delaware House of Representatives, is seeking public comment from those who have contracted an infection as the result of being in a healthcare facility. For example, public comment from someone who may have contracted an infection during a hospital stay would be helpful.

The Task Force, established by Representative Deborah Hudson, comes after a national report was released determining that there is insufficient evidence on how healthcare associated infections are publicly reported. The Task Force will study the best approaches for addressing this issue and submit recommendations to the Speaker of the House by March 31, 2006.

Any information supplied to the Task Force will be treated as confidential and will only be shared with members of the Task Force. Strine, Judge Bill Lee, and numerous Delawareans gathered for two rallies to demonstrate support for Judge John Roberts and deliver more than two thousand signed petitions to Senators Joe Biden and Tom Carper urging them to conduct fair hearings and confirm Judge Roberts as the next Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.


Even with all the above petitions from his citizens, Biden still treated the hearings on John Roberts, Supreme Court Chief Justice, as his own personal presidential campaign forum.

Hillary goes to heaven

Hillary Clinton died and, Lord knows why, went to heaven. St. Peter approached her and says "Hillary, I know you're 'somebody' down on Earth, but up here, you're just another person. And, I'm swamped right now, so have a seat and I'll get back with you as soon as I can."

So Hillary sits down and begins looking at her surroundings. She notices a huge wall that extends as far as the eye can see. And on that wall there are millions and millions of clocks. She can't help notice that on occasion some of the clocks jump ahead fifteen minutes.

When St. Peter returns she asks "What's the deal with the clocks?"

St. Peter replies "There is a clock on the wall for every married man on Earth."

Hillary asks, "Well what does it mean when the clock jumps ahead 15 minutes?"

St. Peter replies, "That means that the man that belongs to that clock has just committed adultery."

Hillary asks, "Well, is my husband's clock on the wall?"

St. Peter replies, "Of course not. God has it in his office and is using it for an electric fan."

The New Orleans' Police Story Goes On

Did the cops who committed suicide REALLY commit suicide? Or were they murdered?

Is this Tom Delay stuff an attempt to do ANYTHING to keep this cop story out of the headlines?

Who knows how deep this goes? We do know that Mayor Nagin sent a whole bunch of cops to Las Vegas for R&R. Heh.

This is now covered on CNN.

It's a story that won't go away.

Mayor Ray Nagin was also questioned about allowing a large number of unnamed police officers to go to Las Vegas for rest and relaxation once the military arrived to take over the city. But a problem for the mayor rose when questioned who those officers were and how they could be contacted. Nagin did not have specific names to give.

Several middle ranking police officers committed suicide after the Katrina debacle, Nagin and Compass believe it was due to trauma and exhaustion from the storm but officials are looking into whether or not it might have been related to fear of being caught in a payroll scandal where at least forty-three-percent of the payroll is unaccounted for.

Tom Delay Indicted

It's complicated, folks.

Although glimmers of sunlight do filter through my brain in comprehension.

I understand "hard" money and "soft" money. I understand the local Texas Republican party as opposed to the National Republican party. I understand that two fellows on Delay's campaign staff moved some money from hard to soft back to hard via Texas onto the National Republican party.

Nah. It's all political speak to me.

Here's what I can tell yon two or three intelligent readers who read this Blog every day. Us Americans who carry this country on our backs ain't gonna pay this story no mind. It will flit through the ears of yon soccer mom and right on out of the other.

I don't believe Delay is guilty or if he is then every Democrat who ever had a mother is just as guilty. Those politicos know their way around those stupid campaign finance laws like a termite knows a piece of wood. Delay is not so dumb and besides, the indictment has Delay doing NOTHING but alleges he conspired with his campaign workers to, dear Lord it's so horrific I can barely type it, move money from here to there to here to over here and back again.

No one stole any money you understand. And this Texas prosecutor also indicted Kay Hutchinson, another Texas Republican, and the charges were dropped.

But the Dems, hey, they HATE Tom Delay. They've been after him for ages. Roy Blount will be taking over Delay's House Whip duties.

Heh.

Those Americans who carry this country on their backs WILL listen to those stories of ghost police in New Orleans. See, the soccer moms understand this.

If the Dems think this Delay story is going to over-shadow that New Orleans' story, well I have just one word to say.

Kaitlyn Understands Language Perfectly
.....it's the grownups who don't get it.

Baby Girl paid Mom Mom a visit this past week and I found the need to skirt around the English language more carefully than ever.

For Kaitlyn understands full well what is being said all around her and she does, as one might expect, interpret it perfectly, if a little too literally, her baby self.

It began when I commented to Kaitlyn's mother that the child was so tired that her lazy eye was all over the place.

Yes Granddaughter has a lazy eye which early on I diagnosed HERE.

Like her father, when fatigue comes upon, her little eyeball tends to roam all over its socket.

This is a child that will not succumb to silly stuff such as sleep when so much is going on all about. And on this grandmotherly visit Kaitlyn was indeed a very busy baby, running all about Grandmother's gardens, identifying the resin creatures, helping her father build a ramp onto the deck, and accompanying both her mother and myself on a quiet walk.

No time for sleep what with all this going on. So the lazy eye signals to the world that Kaitlyn is very tired.

"She's so tired her little eyeball is all over the place," I commented to her mother. I understood the baby didn't want to sleep when there was so much to be done. In fact, the child was acutely involved with helping her father build a deck ramp, using a garden trowel that she called her "shovel" and aiding with the digging for the ramp footings.

Kaitlyn responded to my remark about her eyeball by furiously feeling all over her body with her little hands. It was if she suddenly had bugs running all over her person and she was in a desperate state of finding them all.

"She's looking for her eyeball," her mother explained.

My eyebrows remained furrowed.

"You said her eye was all over the place and she's trying to find it."

After a few more seconds dawn broke over my marble head.

Poor baby with the lazy eye and now her Grandmother has the thing coming right out of its socket to God knows where but Kaitlyn was determined to find it and put it back.

I wink and acknowledge right now that Kaitlyn understands English very well thank you. I, ahem, DID say her eyeball was all over the place, no?

So on to an afternoon walk and a lame attempt to lull Kaitlyn to sleep in her stroller.

For half the walk Kaitlyn did remain in her stroller but soon she became sleepy so she did the only thing a child could do in such a situation. She demanded to get out of her stroller. She then ran and skipped and collected asphalt "rocks" from alongside the road.

She was having a grand time and go on, how about those tennis shoes that light up red when Kaitlyn walks?

God Bless America.

Soon Kaitlyn was running too far ahead. Or she was encroaching upon a nearby lawn. Or she was doing whatever entered her baby head, including an episode where she would run, stop and suddenly fall down on her behind in reaction to her mother's warning that she should slow down, that her running would cause her to fall down.

Which Kaitlyn then went on to give us a visible demonstration of that phenomenon.

At one point when Kaitlyn was running all awry and in an attempt to set the child on the right course, Kaitlyn's Mom told Kaitlyn that we had to go down to the end of the road and turn around there.

Kaitlyn's Mom pointed down the road where we would indeed have to make a right turn to return to Mom-Mom's house.

Evidently Kaitlyn wanted to turn sooner.

For she suddenly stopped and stood still. Facing me, the child grinned then turned away from me, leaving her facing to the right.

"She's turning," her mother whispered in explanation.

Dawn, once again, broke over my head.

Kaitlyn knew we would have to turn and she was either practicing this maneuver or who knows, maybe she decided she wanted to turn now and not down the road as her mother indicated.

She literally turned her body around, indeed she turned her body around in several directions.

She is no fool, little Kaitlyn. Her mother said we would have to turn and so she did.

Kaitlyn's father managed to finish the deck ramp even without any additional help from Kaitlyn and her "shovel".

We all went out for some fine steamed crabs, a delicacy Kaitlyn loves as the Merryland child she is.

It was a big day for Kaitlyn, an all-day event that had her turning in the middle of the road and looking for errant eyeballs.

Grandmother, a self-described citizen scribe, learned a bit more about the nuance of the English language.

With a little help from Kaitlyn Mae.

It's Not Fancy and It's Not Quiet

This Rehoboth Delaware seafood restaurant is a little different than one might imagine for such an eatery so near to the Chesapeake Bay.

For one does not go to The Big Fish Grill for that native staple of steamed crabs.

There are lots of such steamed crab eateries in the eastern shore ocean resorts. Indeed, The Big Fish Grill does cover their dining tables with butcher block paper such as that used for steamed crabs.

The Big Fish Grill is a bit more seafood-gourmet than your average crab shack. Though they do serve crabmeat, but in a much more civilized fashion.

So non-Maryland-Delaware-New Jersey natives might say.

Indeed my mother-in-law was down for a visit from Massachusetts. She specifically requested we got to The Big Fish Grill as we went there during her last visit.

She loves their broiled crab cakes.

Heaven forgive me if she is reading this review, but I have seen much better crab cakes in my lifetime although those at The Big Fish Grill are just fine.

Goes to years of experience at eating crab meat.

To a lady such as mother-in-law, formerly from the midwest and for the last very many years from Massachusetts, I suppose the broiled crab cakes at The Big Fish Grill would be like something from heaven.

The Big Fish Grill is, I would argue, an eatery that would have more tourists than native diners, what with its locale right on Delaware's infamous Route 1 and close to the Rehoboth Beach ocean resort.

Those broiled crab cakes looked nicely prepared but to my wise and experienced eye, they were small. With a price tag of almost $25.00 a serving I'd expect bigger. For my mother-in-law, a smallish eater, they were plenty.

Husband had fried flounder and I had a special that night, a melange of shrimp, mussels, and clams served over noodles with a brisk seafood sauce.

The flounder was fried nicely and the fish was tender.

Every Greek who ever opened a restaurant can fry a flounder, sarcasm intended.

As for my meal, this is where The Big Fish Grill's real expertise shone.

Every mussel was perfectly tender, each shrimp firm, large and meaty, all clams sweet and free of grit. The mussels and clams actually were served atop the noodles, still in their shells. The shrimp were already peeled and the seafood smorgasboard over linguini did include large chunks of fresh fish.

The Big Fish Grill knows its seafood and prepares it well.

The only problem I had with my meal is it was very large and one had better be ready for seafood served with seafood over seafood before dining at this establishment. The sauce spooned over the linguini was, well I'd rate it as satisfactory. Again, it was very fishy but I mean that in a good way. How much fishy tasting stuff can one eat before one's lips begin to purse from the salt?

I did take my leftovers home and scrounged two more meals out of it. Served in small proportions it was more keenly appreciated.

Also, I did have a bowl of the cream of crab soup. My expectations weren't high. Cream of crab is seldom "good" in that fine manner of cream, careful mixing on to an end of a tasteful soup. Too often crab meat is covered with milk and heated up, perhaps with a pinch of parsley.

The Big Fish Grill's cream of crab soup was very tasty. It wasn't chock full of crab meat but this is exactly how I think the soup should be prepared.

Side dishes are offered, of course, but they are unremarkable save for the specials. My mother- in-law had whipped sweet potatoes which I swiped. This is a different sort of dish to serve with seafood.

The cole slaw was bitter, not good at all. The bread served with my meal was grilled to perfection and perfect alongside of seafood. I also had a special side dish affair consisting of green beans and tomatoes. The dish tasted like summer and thought was put into its preparation.

Dinner for three including one drink was heading close to $100.00.

All in all, what with mother-in-law's unabashed enjoyment of those broiled crab cakes, I'd call the dining experience well worth it.

If you're looking for an intimate and quiet dinner out, don't go to the Big Fish Grill. Also, during busy hours there's almost always a long line. A 45 minute wait is normal.

But if you want fresh seafood tastefully prepared, this is the place.

The FEMA Hearings and Those New Orleans' Cops

I listened to the hearings with former FEMA director Michael Brown.

First, some background.

The Democrats, ahem, are not participating in this hearing on what went wrong with Hurricane Katrina. While some Dems are involved in the hearings, such stalwarts as Moonbat Pelosi and Moonbat Reid state they will refuse to accept any conclusions from the hearings.

THEY want an independent commission to investigate this thing

Of course they want independent hearings such as the 9-11 Omission-Commission. Where the Democrats had one of the major sources of problems, Jamie Gorelick, on that commission. Any so-called "independent commission" in the mind of Democrats would include Ray Nagin and Catherine Blanco as part of the inquisitors.

I NEVER thought FEMA messed up in New Orleans, or if I was to acknowledge any screwup on that agency, it would be the typical bureaucratic nonsense that is so pervasive in government agencies across the land.

Requiring volunteer firefighters from other states to take a sexual harassment course before allowing them to enter Louisiana to help is one such silly bureaucratic rule that avoided common sense.

Like the rest of us idiots out here in la-la land, I SAW those buses under water with my own lying eyeballs.

The Senate Democrats evidently decided to stay the hell away from this one. They know that New Orleans was a cesspool of corruption.

I thought Brown made some very good points and what he had to say was, well it seemed true enough. He pointed out that he headed emergencies for FOUR major hurricanes in Florida in 2004.

He said that FEMA does not have one fire truck or ambulance. He asserted that FEMA is not now, or ever has been, a first responder agency.

Then he pecked at the truth.

Which was...the state of Louisiana was totally dysfunctional. Brown says his main failure was not realizing this soon enough.

As it would turn out, and as of this writing currently percolating UNDER the radar, was that little matter of the New Orleans' cops.

Which was likely the reason Louisiana was dysfunctional.

Today, NO Chief of Police, Eddie Compass, resigned. Yes the SAME Eddie Compass who said the following lies about the situation in the Superdome:
"We have individuals who are getting raped; we have individuals who are getting beaten."

Five days later, he told Oprah Winfrey that babies were being raped.

Here's where it all gets interesting.

It would seem, as reported by Tony Snow today on Fox news, that, well remember all those cops who allegedly left their jobs the Monday after Katrina stuck?

Turns out these cops DO NOT EXIST!

Indeed, the New Orleans' police department appears to have quite a few ghosts on its payroll.

I've done payroll all my life.

It's a simple matter to put ghosts on the payroll.

I'm guessing here just yet, but I'm betting those police ghosts were the ones assigned to cover after Katrina hit. Which is why they abandoned their positions. Because they WERE NEVER THERE!

I've worked at companies that had ghosts on the payroll. It's not at all difficult to do. In fact, the only way to catch ghosts is to allocate one payday a year, stop direct deposit, and make each and every employee come in to pick up their paycheck in person.

Been there, done that.

It would also seem that Mayor Nagin sent a bunch of these ghosts to Las Vegas for rest and recuperation. Well he had to explain where they went somehow.

The FBI is about to hand down indictments.

It's all falling into place now.

For now I'm assuming Governor Blanco did not know about the ghosts. I'm thinking Nagin assigned many of the ghosts to hurricane duty because hey, think of the overtime!

So when Nagin was being pressured by Blanco to issue a mandatory evacuation for the city of New Orleans', Nagin wouldn't do it. He knew he didn't have enough cops to effect such a thing.

Also recall that two cops committed suicide inside the Superdome. One cop, as told in the parade of lies coming out of Louisiana, was supposedly so distraught because his wife had died. The same wife who attended his funeral after the suicide.

Those cops who pointed guns to their heads and pulled the triggers, they were probably knee deep in the ghost payroll. Once those flood waters poured into the city they knew their time was coming.

The payroll ghosts were also part of the reason that Louisiana did everything possible to keep the Feds out of the state. As well as the Red Cross and Salvation Army.

They were trying desperately to hide the ghosts.

All paychecks going to ghost employees have the money going some where. There's always a trail. As of now, and this could change, it appears that New Orleans had somewhere near 500 ghosts on the payroll. Who knows where their "paychecks" were deposited? It's easy enough to find.

And heads will roll. Compass' head has already rolled. Nagin can't be far behind. Perhaps even Blanco herself.

Meanwhile they defend themselves the only way they can. By beating the hell out of Brown, blaming it all on FEMA. The administration knew this was coming down. It's probably why they have not yet fired Brown from FEMA.

Let the FBI do their work then just the facts ma'am.

To add to the audacity of these thugs and thieves, didn't that William Jefferson asshole sit up at the podium and pound Brown with questions?

WASHINGTON - The architect of the memorial to a plane downed in western Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001, said Wednesday he would work to satisfy critics who complained that it honors terrorists with its crescent-shaped design.

Designer Paul Murdoch said he is “somewhat optimistic” that the spirit of the design could be maintained.

“It’s a disappointment there is a misinterpretation and a simplistic distortion of this, but if that is a public concern, then that is something we will look to resolve in a way that keeps the essential qualities,” Murdoch, 48, of Los Angeles, said in a telephone interview.

A Dust Devil in Delaware?

Dust devils, it turns out, are little tornados, sprung from hot, dusty conditions and generally along a changing terrain, such as dirt to asphalt to concrete.

But yes I saw one! In Delaware! With my own lying eyeballs.

There I was driving along 404 East upon return home after dropping mother-in-law off at the BWI airport.

Suddenly alongside the road I see this little tornado thing.

As I’m trying to digest in my mind the vision entering my eyeballs, I also note out of the side of my head that other vehicles going both east bound and west bound also saw something odd as everyone on the road slowed down.

The other weird fact was that the highway was sided by trees on both sides until where this little tornado showed up. Right after the dust devil there was an open field on both sides of the road.

All vehicles, including mine own Jeep, moved forward past the tree line cautiously. I surmise that all of us were thinking the same thing:

Could that funny little twisting dervish be a child of an even bigger tornado about to attack unsuspecting vehicles as they inched past the tree line past that open field?

Further research and I discover there is such a thing as a dust devil and I’m convinced that’s what I saw.

And here I thought Dust Devils were little vacuum cleaners.

My Solution That Will Reduce Welfare Rolls by 80%

The geniusness came to me as I watched so many New Orleans teenaged mothers with at least one, often multiple children hanging on them.

Many of them, heck most of them, had no fathers.

Here’s my solution.

Given that we all accept the notion of people actually supporting their own children and not be allowed to filch off of hard working taxpayers all of their lives, all we have to do is find the kids’ fathers.

When a welfare mother is about to have a baby, thus increasing her welfare payments monthly perhaps double, in order to receive those benefits she MUST name the child’s father.

Right now there is a rather murky system in which this is SUPPOSED to be the case. But often the child’s mother demurs, alleging not to know the child’s father. Or he can’t be found.

Everyone can be found given enough time and patience.

I hear commercials for paternity tests all the time. Takes seven days and boom, paternity is established via a swab of mucous from alleged father and baby’s mouth.

No additional welfare payments should be made until a paternity test is administered and paternity established.

Period.

Then have the government go after these sperm donors.

Once these guys have to pay up via payroll deduction their entire lives, condom use will suddenly escalate.

Of course it won’t work.

Such common sense things never do.

Tsunami Update
In an interesting move, last week George Bush appointed his father, former President George H. Bush, and former President Bill Clinton to spearhead American efforts to raise private money for tsunami disaster relief.

I call it interesting in that it’s well known that Clinton wants to be head of the U.N. Which vaunted institution, more on this later, is noticeably missing from the tsunami relief effort. Now about the U.N. That world-wide institution that we would expect to be major organizers of the tsunami disaster relief. They certainly don’t wage war against despots very well so shouldn’t we at least expect this?

Below is a direct quote from the UN’s official website.
Under SecGen Egeland “Our main problems now are in northern Sumatra and Aceh.
<...> In Aceh, today 50 trucks of relief supplies are arriving. <...> Tomorrow, we will have eight full airplanes arriving. I discussed today with Washington whether we can draw on some assets on their side, after consultations with the Indonesian Government, to set up what we call an “air-freight handling centre” in Aceh.
Tomorrow, we will have to set up a camp for relief workers – 90 of them – which is fully self-contained, with kitchen, food, lodging, everything, because they have nowhere to stay and we don't want them to be an additional burden on the people there.

Two things here. First, those 50 relief trucks did NOT come from the UN. All supplies, planes, etc, so far, have come from America, Australia and other nations. Second, notice this man’s priorities! They have to set up a camp for relief workers. Fully self-contained with kitchens, food lodging…well, damn, can’t have the UN relief workers inconvenienced!

It gets better.

A new Blog, run by "career US Foreign Service officers", many serving in the tsunami disaster region, is up and exposing the UN “efforts”. Below is a quote from that wonderful Blog, also sponsored by mine own Blogspot experts. Below this is a link to this great new web spot.
Aussies and Yanks continue to carry the overwhelming bulk of the burden, but some other fine folks also have jumped in: e.g., the New Zealanders have provided C-130 lift and an excellent and much-needed potable water distribution system; the Singaporeans have provided great helo support; the Indians have a hospital ship taking position off Sumatra. Spain and Netherlands have sent aircraft with supplies. But, they say, the UN has shone only in its willingness to send bureaucrats…

Just Because It’s Delaware
And it’s a little state. And our Governor and Lt. Governor gave themselves a nice raise, 44% for the Governor and 56% for her Loot. Giving Delaware’s Lt. Governor more salary than the Governors 20 other states. As for our Governor, only the Governor's of California, New York, and Michigan would be paid more than Delaware’s Governor with her salary.

Copeland has called on Lt. Governor Carney to release his 2004 official calendar to justify the need to be paid over $100,000 per year, and make more than the full-time Governors of 20 other states. The odds are pretty slim that Carney’s office will release that schedule, which is sure to include such nice things as reading to children and visiting old folks homes.

Recent updates on this shameless scam are that the Loot is prohibited from such raises and Minner’s backing down. The Wise I is not fooled. They both wanted to get away with it. They are both Democrats by the way.

Protesting the Election
This week just passed, John Conyers, Michigan congressional representative, and Barbara Boxer, California senator, joined forces to protest the acceptance of Ohio’s electoral votes by the United States congress.

This shameless display of idiocy required both chambers to separate and allowed the Democratic crazies to go on and on about Ohio voting irregularities. Bush won by over 118,000 votes in Ohio. Also, the congress did NOT protest 2000’s close election, won by only 500 plus votes.

The Wise I thinks this was all a show to create a smoke screen of questionable Republican voting behavior because soon the flood gates are going to open over that Governor’s race in Washington.

I’m doing some investigation into the Washington state Governor’s race debacle, first won by a Republican and again on a recount. Lo and behold more ballots were discovered, some in Alaska! The Dems got it right on the third try and the Governorship was given to a Dem.

Also found were over 300 ballots with the SAME signatures, felons and dead people who voted illegally, and counties who reported MORE votes than registered voters. It’s never legal for a dead person to vote anywhere in the US.

Popular thought is that Conyers and the Dems filed their protest to appease their base. The Wise I says the Dems fear revelation of their voting deceit about to hit the radar in Washington state. That whole silly exercise last week was an on-the-record attempt to allow Dems to point the finger to Repub voting shenanigans as well.

Besides, the affected candidate himself wrote in a Jan. 5 email message to supporters about the Ohio concerns:
"Despite widespread reports of irregularities, questionable practices by some election officials and instances of lawful voters being denied the right to vote, our legal teams on the ground have found no evidence that would change the outcome of the election,"

Torturing Gonzales
President Bush wants to appoint his current White House Counsel, Alberto Gonzales, to the position of United States Attorney General, now held by John Ashcroft.

The Dems manufactured a “scandal” in that Gonzales, in his position as White House counsel, was asked to review a memorandum issued by the Department of Justice on how to treat terrorist prisoners. The Department of Justice asked if the detainees are subject to the terms of the Geneva Convention, which they are not for a gazillion reasons. So Gonzales responds verifying the Justice Dept.’s assertion that they are not and also asks for guidance on how the detainees should be treated from the President.

Gonzales passed the memo on to the President who issued guidelines that even though the detainees are not subject to the Geneva Convention, that they should be treated humanely.

However the passing back and forth of the most reasonable memorandums, it seems the Dems have managed to create some smoke screen that this poor guy Gonzales was somehow a promoter of torture.

It’s twisted logic and pundits assert that it is a Dem plan to cast aspersions on Gonzales, a Conservative they fear will be appointed to the federal judiciary by Bush at some later point.

The Wise I supposes it could be. If that is the reason for wasting taxpayer dimes on partisan witch hunts it is certainly pathetic. And a bit mean to this man who is Hispanic and a fine example of much of the Democratic party’s demographic.

The wicked rhetoric got so bad that we could count on the NY Times to jump in.
Times columnist Bob Herbert, called Gonzales "the enabler in chief of the pro-torture lobby" and claimed the administration has "thumbed its nose at the Geneva convention."

But yon readers, this was not, not by a long shot, the greatest hoot of this Democratic witch hunt. For doesn’t my favorite, ole Ted Kennedy himself, take the solemn senate floor and lambaste the treatment of “waterboarding” on those dear terrorist detainees. Waterboarding is some sort of treatment where detainees have their heads wrapped in a towel and water is dripped into their nose. It can’t hurt them but it gives them a sensation of drowning.

TED KENNEDY COMPLAINING ABOUT HURTING SOMEBODY WITH WATER!!! BE STILL MY SORE HEART. TED KENNEDY KILLS PEOPLE IN WATER BY LEAVING THEM TO DROWN!

Israel Kills Top Islamic Jihadist

Financed by the sons of camels across the Arab world, the Palestinians, now owners of the Gaza strip to which they were never entitled, won't give it up.

So Israeli got itself a real gem of a son of a camel this past weekend, yup, traveling along on the Gaza strip, recently vacated by Israel in a bid for peace.

The Palestinians, aided by the world press which itself is aided by sons of camels Arab money, are yelping and carrying on, not to mention that peculiar "bombed car swarm" (pictured below) made famous by Palestinians that the press will capture their plight.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - An Israeli aircraft fired missiles Sunday at a car driving along a coastal road in Gaza City, killing a top Islamic Jihad militant and wounding at least two other people, militants and Palestinian health officials said.

The attack hit a Mercedes carrying Mohammed Khalil, Islamic Jihad's top militant leader in southern Gaza, said a group spokesman known as Abu Abdullah.


BUT....let's take a look at just who Israel got with their missile and just who is returning to the Gaza strip after so much Israeli tears were spent.

Mohammed Khalil was responsible for the murder below, in May of 2004.

I'm glad they got him.

A pregnant mother and her four daughters were shot dead Sunday after two terrorists opened fire at Israeli cars traveling near the Kissufim Crossing at the entrance to the Gush Katif settlement bloc in the Gaza Strip.

The dead were identified as Tali Hatuel, 34, eight months pregnant and her daughters Hila, 11, Hadar, 9, Roni, 7, Merav, 2 all from the settlement of Katif. Details of the funerals have yet to be finalized

Mother Cindy Sheehan Arrested!

Not that we're fooled that this wasn't EXACTLY her plan.

WASHINGTON - Cindy Sheehan, the California woman who has used her son's death in Iraq to spur the anti-war movement, was arrested Monday while protesting outside the White House.

Sheehan and several dozen other protesters sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests.

Sheehan was the first taken into custody. She stood up and was led to a police vehicle while protesters chanted, "The whole world is watching."
