Catholicism Masses and the Corona virus.

Daily Miscellany

Thoughts and flashes of brilliance that enter my head from nowhere.

Enjoy.  Or abhor, depending on the effect of my "wisdom".

It's been a sad day for my church.  For our Pastor, in charge for five years now, announced he will be leaving by the end of May.

He was so sad he almost cried at mass.

I suppose there will be farewell parties and such.

I suggest all yon readers look at their Pastor next time and appreciate him while you can.

Faithful Catholics: New Archbishop of Atlanta Bears Watching

It seems like every time I read a story involving the Catholic church there's some priest or another all involved in attempts to promote homosexuality, sodomy and more.

Now we have a new Archbishop appointed by the Pope who is part of a group of priests promoting homosexuality.

Read below:

ImageMichael Hichborn's reporting also has revealed Hartmayer's close involvement with the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests (AUSCP), a group of priests dedicated to various radical changes to Catholic teaching. According to Hichborn, the AUSCP promotes:

  • homosexuality
  • pro-sodomy and other heretical organizations
  • priestless parishes
  • female deacons
  • gaining funding from unsuspecting, pew-sitting Catholics

As recently as 2018, Hartmayer served as retreat leader at the organization's annual convention. Both Hartmayer and Gregory are active members of AUSCP.

To me this is probably a stretch of the truth.  Why would a priest be so public in promoting homosexuality and/or pro-sodomy?  I am not saying priests are not capable of such a thing but why would they be so public?

I got a hunch there's more....or even way less....to this story.

Coronavirus: Rome Bows to State Decree Suspending All Public Masses

Image

Our church has been packed even with this fake coronavirus hysteria.

But hey, the Vatican is in Italy and Italy is taking a beating with the hysteria.

VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - In a historic first, Rome has banned the presence of the faithful at all Masses until April 3, displaying an excessive willingness to submit to the emergency coronavirus decree of the Italian government issued Saturday night.

Priests may continue to celebrate the Eucharist behind locked doors but congregations will be prohibited from entering churches while Mass is being celebrated and Catholics will have to forgo receiving the sacraments in church communities.

Abp. ViganĂ²: Open wide the doors to Christ - and His Churches

The issue with masses causes consternation.

What we are witnessing in these hours is dramatic — certainly throughout Italy, but in a tragically exemplary way, in Rome, the heart of Catholicism.

The scenario is all the more disconcerting as what is at stake is not only public health but the salvation of souls — and for some time now we, as Pastors, have stopped inflaming the hearts of our faithful with the desire of eternal salvation. We have thus deprived them of those supernatural gifts which make us capable of facing trials here below, even the assaults of death, with the power of faith and that spark of inexhaustible and unshakable hope which comes to us from our yearning for the destiny of glory for which we were created.

The statements of the Italian Episcopal Conference, those of the Cardinal Vicar of Rome, as well as the surreal and spectral images that have come to us from the Vatican, are many expressions of the darkening of the faith that has struck the heights of the Church. The Ministers of the Sun, as St Catherine of Siena was fond of calling them, have caused the eclipse, and delivered the flock to the clouds of thick darkness (cf. Ezekiel 34:12).

[Catholic Caucus] MASSES CANCELED IN ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW YORK

In New York they are going nuts.

(New York, NY) In light of the continued concern surrounding the coronavirus, and the advice of medical experts, all Masses in the Archdiocese of New York will be canceled beginning this weekend, March 14-15, 2020.

This development follows upon today’s decision of Dutchess County to prohibit gatherings of more than 20 people.  It is also intended to provide clarity and consistency throughout the ten counties that comprise the Archdiocese of New York (Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Dutchess).

Churches will, however, remain open for private prayer.

Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, urged the faithful to remember in their prayers all those whose lives have been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.  “Let us pray for all who are sick, as well as doctors, nurses, caregivers, and all those working hard to combat the disease.  We should also remember those whose lives have been otherwise disrupted, especially anyone who has lost income from a loss of work during this difficult time.”
