Daily Miscellany
Thoughts and flashes of brilliance that enter my head from nowhere.
Enjoy. Or abhor, depending on the effect of my "wisdom".
If nothing else I have a plan to protect myself from such as influenza in the future as a result of all that I've learned from this pandemic so over-reacted to.
I will likely not shake hands with anyone in the future. This is a shame for human beings have been shaking hands for years and yet the human race still exists. Still, after endless hours of being told not to be near other people, don't congregate in groups, do not touch, do not breathe, shoot anyone in your vicinity that should cough....on and on....
Well do not extend your palm to me to shake unless you and I are both wearing gloves.
I also have a new respect for washing hands but come on people, we all should have been conscious of this. Also I am just fine with being ten feet away from people but I know that's not always possible. But, again, washing hands, carrying hand sanitizers....being aware that germs are all about and they're after me.
We all have probably learned a thing or many after this experience, including the fact that you can never have too much toilet paper.

Execution halted for Texas man who killed family after lawyer argues it could "assist in spreading" coronavirus
Of all the arguments against an execution, the fact that it might spread the flu is one of the nuttiest.
Although, to be fair, this fine, fine man, who killed his entire family...his lawyer argued that the crowd that would gather to watch the execution would be possible victims of the coronavirus.
The execution was delayed so the lovely Hummel can live a few more days.

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus prompted the top Texas criminal appeals court on Monday to stay for 60 days the scheduled execution of a man condemned for killing his family. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals rejected all grounds of John William Hummel's appeal but said it would postpone the scheduled Wednesday execution "in light of the current health crisis and the enormous resources needed to address the execution."
One of the issues that Michael Mowla, Hummel's attorney, had raised in his efforts to stop the execution was a concern that the process involved with putting Hummel to death "may itself assist in spreading COVID-19."
A number of people either take part or witness the execution in the death chamber at the state penitentiary in Huntsville, including correctional officers, attorneys, physicians and family members or friends of the inmate and of the victims.
"Gathering all these people in one location presents a substantial risk of transmission of COVID-19/Coronavirus if anyone is infected," Mowla wrote in a petition to the appeals court last week.

Yes, Virginia's Governor Has Made It a Crime for More Than 10 People to Attend a Church Service
Wow.
This is so close to violation of state versus church it scares me.
If the people want to attend a service with other people they should be allowed. They are taking the chance.
Yes I know they might spread it around but somehow I think church goers would be especially careful of this.
So far it's not a big issues as most churches have stopped their on site services. But in due course things will change.
Then very important Virginia Governors will need to shut up.
And oh yeah....DOES THIS ALSO APPLY TO MOSQUES????????????

But a "Frequently Asked Questions" sheet that his office published about the executive order does address the issue.
The fifth question it answers is: "What about religious services? Can I still go to my church, synagogue, or mosque?"
The answer: "Virginians are strongly encouraged to seek alternative means of attending religious services, such as virtually or via 'drive-through' worship. Places of worship that do conduct in-person services must limit gatherings to 10 people, to comply with the statewide 10-person ban."

Now we have people escaping from jail because of the virus.
You can't make it up.

Nine women escaped from a South Dakota jail where a fellow inmate tested positive for coronavirus, authorities said.
The inmates broke out of the minimum-security Pierre Community Work Center late Monday by walking out an exterior door, the South Dakota Department of Corrections said Tuesday.
Three of the women — identified as Kelsey Flute, 30, Jordan Wakeman, 27, and Pamela Miller, 28 — were apprehended Tuesday after a search that included aircraft operated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol, corrections officials said.
The women left the jail on the same day the South Dakota Department of Health announced a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the Pierre Women’s Prison, the Argus Leader reports.

Joe Biden Faces Sexual Assault Allegations From A Former Staffer
Well this is interesting. Not that I am surprised. Joe Biden is a creep and the smart females among us know it. He likes to put his hands all over a female's hair and her shoulders. Especially young females, creepier still.
Plus we all know they want to get him outta there.

According to Reade, Biden pressed her up against a wall and digitally penetrated her without her consent. “It happened all at once, and then… his hands were on me and underneath my clothes,” she says. She also remembers him asking “do you want to go somewhere else?” and then, when she had pulled away, “Come on, man, I heard you liked me.” Reade says that “everything shattered” in that moment and his claim that he thought she liked him made her feel like she had “done this” somehow. “I looked up to him, he was my father’s age. He was this champion of women’s rights in my eyes,” she says. “I wanted to be a senator; I didn’t want to sleep with one.”
Following her accusations against Biden, reports from Ryan Grim at The Intercept detailed all the ways Reade was stonewalled in telling her story — including from Time’s Up, the high-profile organization founded to help survivors tell their stories in the midst of the #MeToo movement, which is housed within the National Women’s Law Center. According to Grim’s reporting, Reade asked for help from the organization in January of this year, but she was told they could not help her because it would jeopardize their non-profit status due to the fact that he was a presidential candidate.
