5/15/20 Notes on the Pandemic 2020-Where Did My Country Go?

Yes I am compiling a Blog about the great pandemic of 2020 and how my country stupidly shut down the economy.  We will have opinions, political and cultural highlights, my personal experience, social media details, even TV reviews since I watch so much TV while in my home jail.  We shall, as always, end with a smile.

MISC. PANDEMIC NOTES OF THE WEEK
(an update for my descendants)

One of the big results from this pandemic is the horrible deaths of people moved to nursing homes, thereby causing the deaths of many nursing home patients.

The Governors of both New York (the very smart Cuomo) and of Pennsylvania denied nursing homes the right to refuse admittance to Covid-19 patients so they had to accept them.

So thousands died.

So below some statistics that show a Governor that handled things well and a Governor that is an idiot.

MAJOR POLITICAL EVENT OF THE WEEK
(another update)

Flynn released by DOJ....Judge Refuses to Comply

This past week was a shocking one in terms of politics.  For the Deep State has been trying to get rid of a duly elected president put in office by us idiots across the fruity plains while the FBI and a whole bunch of other nothing-burgers know better.

So they set up an elaborate scheme to set up General Mike Flynn, Director of National Intelligence for President Obama and also for President Trump.

One day I shall write a narrative of FBI agents demanding unmasking, sneaking into the White House, the Vice-Presidents and a bunch of others meeting to figure out how to trap Flynn into lying that he may go to jail.

Flynn knows something, something bad, about the Obama administration and the Deep State wants him out.  Not to mention, for whatever bizarre reason, Trump too fired Flynn for lying to VP Pence.

So finally, what with that whole thing being a mess, the Department of Justice dropped the case on Mike Flynn but to add to the story, which will be a comedy when I write the narrative, the judge hearing the case of Mike Flynn refuses to drop the case.

This marvelous judge has no prosecutor, opens the case for treatises that advocate that Flynn get tortured and burned alive.

One man, ONE MAN, is holding an American citizen hostage.

MAJOR CULTURE EVENT OF THE WEEK
(one more update)

A Very Odd Murder in Delaware

This is a remarkable story where some nut job hiding out in a cemetery shot and killed two 85 year old people in the cemetery to visit their dead son.

All of Delaware is a buzz over this event so I present the people killed and their remaining sons as written up in a local paper below.

I was told, on Facebook, that cemetery workers said the shooter lived in the woods in the cemetery and had a bunch of guns.  Don't know if this is true but I repeat gossip.

My thought is that this shooting happened the day after the two shooters in Georgia who shot a guy jogging down the roadway because they thought he was a burglar.  I figure the cemetery shooter knew about the murder of what he might consider an innocent black man and decided to kill two innocent white people.  The Delaware shooter too was black.

This is not gossip.  It is but my speculation.  Because the Delaware State Police will not release what bullet killed the murderer (who was shot and killed), the state police's or his own bullet.

They don't know that?  I'm a true crime buff and I know that if a gun is found that might have been involved in the shooting it is possible to tell if the bullet that killed came from that gun.

Inquiring minds want to know what happened.

ELKTON — U.S. Army veteran Paul Marino and his wife, Lidia, visited the grave of their son, Anthony, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Del., almost every day for the past three years.

“It was like a regimen. Mom and Dad visited my brother’s grave every single day, without fail, unless there was inclement weather. They usually went there in the morning,” the couple’s son, Ray Marino, 60, of Elkton, said Wednesday.

The daily graveside visits served as a touchstone for the elderly Elkton couple – each day was another opportunity to express how deeply they loved Anthony and how heartbreakingly they missed him.

The couple would stand at the grave for 10 minutes or so. Sometimes they left fresh flowers; other times, they simply talked to their deceased son. “Hey, Anthony, Mom and Dad are here,” they would say.

Last week, however, that touching ritual turned tragic, when the Marinos were fatally shot just yards from Anthony’s grave in what appears to be a random act of violence.

Paul, 86, and Lidia, 85, were on the veterans cemetery grounds on the morning of May 8 to visit Anthony’s gravesite, as they had done perhaps 1,000 times before since their youngest son was laid to rest there in 2017.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. that day, a gunman randomly shot and killed the couple – sharply contrasting the tranquility of that cemetery.

Receiving the horrible news

The Marino couple’s daily ritual of visiting Anthony’s grave was so well-known among friends of Ray and his twin brother, Paul Jr., that, when news broke of the shootings, concerned loved ones reached out to alert the twin brothers.

A close friend called Ray, knowing that the twin brothers’ parents typically visited Anthony’s graveside in morning, which is when the reported shootings had occurred. Ray, in turn, called his parents’ phone, but they did not answer.

Shortly thereafter, another one of his close friends learned that Paul Sr. was one of the victims in the cemetery shootings through his wife, who works at Christiana Hospital in Delaware, where Paul Sr. had been taken. That close friend picked up Ray at work, after calling him to break the horrible news, and drove him to the hospital.

Employed by a company in Delaware, where he is a maintenance manager, Paul Jr. was at work when a coworker asked if he had heard the breaking news about shootings at a cemetery in that state.
“I asked which one and when he told me, I said, ‘Oh, my God.’ I kept calling them, but I was getting no reply,” Paul Jr. said, adding, “I went into my office and started watching all of the (online) news about it.”

Paul Jr. saw an aerial photo of the cemetery grounds, surrounded by scores of law enforcement officers and emergency vehicles, and it hit him hard.

“I could see my dad’s station wagon parked at the cemetery. Then I knew,” he said.

Then Paul Jr.’s wife called him, after she had been contacted by a Christiana Hospital spokesperson who reported that Paul Sr. had just arrived at the medical center, having suffered a gunshot wound.

“I asked, ‘Where’s my mom?,’” Paul Jr. said, recalling his reaction after arriving at the hospital to see his dad, prompting a nurse to gently answer, “She’s no longer with us.”

Lidia was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting last Friday, just two days before Mother’s Day. Her husband died from his gunshot wound at Christiana Hospital on Saturday.

“My parents were in their 80s, but they were very healthy and active. They had five or 10 more years of good life left, I’m sure,” Ray said. “I thought they would die from natural causes someday – not be executed by a stranger in a cemetery.”

Nagging questions
Paul Jr. and Ray have so many questions about how and why their parents were gunned down, but, knowing that this was a random act of violence, they have resigned themselves to the fact that some answers will never come.

“I’ve been trying to figure all this out in my head, but there are some things we are just never going to know,” Ray said.

Cemetery victimsDelaware State Police officials identified Sheldon C. Francis, 29, of Middletown, Del., as the gunman who inexplicably ended the lives of Paul and Lidia Marino. But as of Thursday, investigators had not released a motive.

Francis died from an apparent gunshot wound near the scene of the shootings, but investigators have not said whether that fatal wound was self-inflicted or if it was one he had suffered during an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement officers.

Officers found Francis’ body in a wooded area near the cemetery at approximately 4 p.m. last Friday, some six hours after he had fired the deadly shots at Paul and Lidia Marino.
Paul Jr. and Ray cannot determine if their parents were able to visit Anthony’s grave one last time before they died.

“They were shot halfway between the cemetery entrance and Anthony’s burial plot, so we don’t know if they were coming or going,” Ray said.

The man who killed the twin brothers’ parents reportedly possessed a scoped rifle at the time but, according to information that DSP investigators provided the family, Francis apparently shot them with a handgun at relatively close range.

“He came up behind them, pulled out a handgun and did his thing. He shot our dad in the back of the head and then he shot our mom,” Ray outlined. “We don’t know if he shot our mom first in front of our dad or if he shot our dad first in front of our mom. We don’t even know if they saw him.”
Paul Jr. said he and his brother have not learned from DSP investigators where the bullet or bullets struck their mother.

The day after the shootings, Paul Jr. visited the cemetery.

“I just wanted to see where my parents got shot,” he explained, noting that a groundskeeper approached him, wanting to know why he was there. “When I told him my parents were the people who got shot, the groundskeeper said he knew my parents, that they talked to him every time they saw him at the cemetery. He was very upset by what happened.”

That groundskeeper relayed to Paul Jr. that he and coworkers had returned to the cemetery that morning after taking a break and they noticed the Marinos’ familiar station wagon, as well as an unfamiliar vehicle parked nearby.

“They heard ‘pop, pop, pop,’ and then they saw a man in a black hoodie running across the grass,” Paul Jr. said.

DSP officials gave Paul Jr. and Ray the watch their dad was wearing when he was shot. It was a gift from his company when he retired in 1994.

“We picked up the watch. The watch stopped at 10:15. It won’t move,” Ray said.
......

“We have to bury mom and dad where they were murdered,” Paul Jr. said. “A cemetery is supposed to be a peaceful and sacred place where you visit your lost loved ones.”

OVER THE INTERNET
(social media explains so much)

It has to be said...

This country was NOT built upon asking permission from a powerful government in order to live our daily lives. QUITE THE OPPOSITE. This government operates on CONSENT of the governed. And it only operates on the powers that we the people delegate to it.

We do NOT delegate the right to live to the government. We don't say, do you give me permission to live today? Do you give me permission to feed myself today? Oh please can I come out of my cage no...w? NO WAY.

We don't do things the way the rest of the world does.

*** We do NOT operate that way in the United States. We are functioning in a constitutional republic comprised of free men and women.***

They are NOT our overlords. They don't tell us when to go to work. So, in a way we are permitting tyranny right now by allowing certain elected officials to act as though they are overlords.

I believe we are going to see more and more people embolden in their resistance.

There is no governmental structure (local, State, Federal) that has power in the United States that does not come from something that we first give to it.

In the months to come I'm hoping that we can retain our birthright and that we will maintain with a firm resolve our own dedication to keeping these rights which have been sacrificed with a tremendous amount of blood. Those rights include the right to go to work and earn a living without having to beg permission for scraps from the government. Without having to come as a child petitioning a parent. We are not in a child parent relationship with the government. If anything, we are the master, they are the servant.

***It is only through our laziness and our cowardness that we have permitted things to go on as they have.***

REVIEWS TV SHOWS
(since I watch so much TV, not for my descendants)

How shows are handling pandemic

The truth about Rachael Ray's husband finally revealed

I have no TV show reviews now but I will describe for my descendants just how this pandemic handled television shows and how television shows handled the pandemic.

Two daytime shows that I enjoy watching are "Rachel Ray" and "Kelly Clarkson".  TV audiences are not allowed because of the pandemic and, of course, the needs of social distancing and wearing masks.  So Kelly Clarkson comes from Montana and hosts a show with guests that too are in their homes.  Rachel Ray calls her adjusted show "Rachel Ray from Home" and we get to watch her 7,000 ingredients to recipes from her own kitchen.  Rachel also has her husband, who we assume lives with her, on the show.  Both of these people need better haircuts.

But don't we all?

In fact, there are no guests in the studios of the various pundits but thanks to modern technology guests can be interviewed in their own homes and it makes for some funny moments.

First, heh, many of us have dogs and on various shows we hear the dogs barking while their owner tries to speak.  On one show a phone went off and rang loudly and with great annoyance while the guest was being interviewed.

It's different and I hear American Idol has done amazing things to keep going.

I do sort of miss having a TV audience and ZOOM makes peoples' voices sound funny/

EDITORIAL
(My opinion for my descendants)

Where Did My Country Go?

It began to everyone's surprise.  In early February the American public was suddenly informed that a nasty virus was loose and people were getting killed by the thousands.

I am a bit of a political/news addict so I looked up from my computer games.  People were dying in Italy, people were dying in China, people were dying in Spain.

Suddenly people were dying in America.  It began in Washington state and spread until eventually it came to New York and the bottom fell out.

Down further south here in Delaware I went about my business but people from New York were leaving that state and a bunch of them were driving south.

At some point the Governors of most states instituted a lockdown.

We all had to stay inside.

From then on it was mass confusion.  You must wear a mask here, New York needs more hospital beds, the Governor of Michigan stopped people from buying paint, California opened this beach, closed this beach.  Most everywhere citizens were allowed to go grocery shopping to get, duh, food.  But we were treated like human chess pieces, stop here, go there, DOWN this aisle, UP this aisle.

Suddenly many Governors kind of liked giving orders.  MY Governor, Carney, made us wear masks whenever outside.  Michigan Governor, man she loves making rules, she even wouldn't allow her citizens to work in the garden.

I'd look around and say to myself, "can they do this?"

Well America has never shut down businesses and schools due to a pandemic and they damn sure better never do it again.

In my state, Carney allows "essential" workers to get a damn haircut but not us peons.

I'd look around and say to myself, "can they do this?"

In California the Governor calls for another three months of lockdowns.

I'd look around and say to myself, "can they do this?"

They are our masters and never mind the constitution.  Perhaps they are trying to protect us but I'd ask Governor/King Carney of Delaware, how does allowing a grocery store worker the right to get a haircut but not me, how does that protect me?

I'd look around and say to myself, "can they do this?"

It's gotten bad people although there are protests all over the country and I hope Michigan citizens never get a hold of their Governor cause they might hang her in a public square.  Man she loves giving orders.

And that Fauci guy, a so-called "expert" running the planet says schools might not re-open this coming fa.ll.

I'd look around and say to myself, "can they do this?"

We have a constitution that nowhere allows the Governor or a state to determine just who can get a haircut.  Nowhere in that constitution does it disallow buying paint or work in a garden during a viral outbreak.  Nowhere does that constitution dictate what beaches can be opened and which ones cannot.

Now I look around and say to myself "Where did my country go?"
