MISC. PANDEMIC NOTES OF THE WEEK
(an update for my descendants)
So nut jobs all across the fruity plains are tearing down statues and changing names and logos of various commercial products.
An example, a statue of some confederate leader or another was taken down in Louisiana. A proposal is to replace the statue with one of Britney Spears. Now everybody knows that Britney Spears is a heroine and deserves to be immortalized by a statue with her resemblance.
Well the argument is that Spears contributed large sums of money toward the rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina so maybe there's some merit. But Lord if we erected statues for everyone who contributed money to a good cause the country would be full of....well Oprah Winfrey statues for one thing. These statues are meant to commemorate military-type heroes but evidently not those of the confederate variety.
Then there's the infamous Aunt Jemima, who yon descendants might never know as it's been removed from all products that once bore her image. She was a black woman who helped out in the slave-owner's kitchen and cooked great pancakes with syrup.
Finally the world screams with joy that there will soon be a black Bachelor. The Bachelor, yon descendants, was, and might still be in your future era, a man who is looking for someone to love and eventually marry. The series last over around a three month period as the appointed bachelor picks, chooses, and eliminates female contenders for his heart until he finds the love of his life.
Well it never quite goes that way but that is the intent.
There is also a Bachelorette series, same premise. A female bachelorette chooses her love of life from a bevy of male contenders.
What I do not understand, there has already been a black bachelorette. Her name is Rachel Lindsay. And, in fact, she did meet the love of her life, Bryan. And he's a white guy.
But, yon descendants, we live in a culture now that wishes to make champions of all black people and having a black bachelor is the next big thing. The hell with Rachel.

MAJOR POLITICAL EVENT OF THE WEEK
(another update)
It's been a bad week for President Trump yon descendants.
First, the wonderful and honest John Bolton's book is coming out and while everything is being done to stop its publication, already the media darlings are lining up to interview Bolton. As I am to understand as of this writing Bolton says a whole bunch of really bad things about President Trump and he doesn't need this with an upcoming election.
Then there is the magnificent Supreme Court, yon descendants, which is supposed to be headed by Justice John Roberts, an alleged conservative. But Roberts colluded with the liberals on the court in the case about not firing homosexuals for their sexual preferences, stating this is part of the Civil Rights act. Which it was no such thing, yon descendants. The Civil Rights act was passed in the mid-60's. It had nothing to do with lesbians, transgenders, bisexuals or anything along that line.
Also the DACA law, put into effect by Barack Obama who just said it and voila! It was law. Instead of throwing it out, Justice Roberts again joins the liberals and says the administration must dot all the i's and cross all the t's.
President Trump did have his first campaign rally in many months due to the pandemic. It was a very successful campaign rally but wow, only 19,000 people showed up and there were some empty seats in the stadium.
Considering the fear of a virus that probably was nothing more than a flu outbreak that we get every year, and the threat of ANTIFA and BLM thugs to ruin the party, that's one hell of a turnout.

MAJOR CULTURE EVENT OF THE WEEK
(one more update)
It would turn out that 27 year old Rayshard Brooks, shot and killed by a cop in the Atlanta PD, was not such a good guy.
Which is not to say that the guy deserved to die for his crimes but upon scrutiny, he really had a busy criminal past.
He was tried in Clayton County and sentenced to seven years on the first count, with one year in prison and six on probation and 12 months for each of the other three counts, sentences to be served concurrently. The charges to which Brooks pleaded guilty and for which he was still on probation dated back to August 2014 when he was convicted on four counts – False Imprisonment, Simple Battery/Family, Battery Simple and Felony Cruelty/Cruelty to Children.
He was tried in Clayton County and sentenced to seven years on the first count, with one year in prison and six on probation and 12 months for each of the other three counts, sentences to be served concurrently.
"Felony cruelty to Children"?
Point is that the reason this guy was even running when he should have just handled the issue, is that he was on probation and if his new crime of drinking while behind the wheel would have had him back in jail.
