So I’m watching all this stuff with Israel and my mind is
filled with opinions and wisdom. But my
mind needs more so I’ve decided to use my wisdom by providing a very
experienced review of both fast foods in the area and those quick markets we
all use from time to time.
Let us begin with the fast foods that are better than
others.
The very best, and this will surprise, is from Hardees. It is called a Fresno bacon burger, I don’t
know why. It does not come on an
ordinary hamburger bun, but instead as a
sandwich on Fresno bread, as it is
called. The best thing about this burger
is that it comes with tomato and mayo on it, with the meat products perfectly
fitting this hamburger “sandwich”. This
burger costs about $9.00.
The second best of the fast food burger offerings is from,
surprisingly, Dairy Queen. It is called
a Ranch Bacon Burger. This burger is
offered with one or two hamburger patties.
It IS served on an ordinary hamburger roll but features, as it name
implies, bacon. Dairy Queen puts onion
rings on this offering, cheese and tomato.
This costs around $8.00 for one patty.
I don’t know why they call it a “ranch” burger.
The third best “burger” available at local fast food
restaurants near me, would be that fast food place that “has the meats”….which
would be ARBYs.
Arbys is famed more for its famous curly fries than this “Steak and cheese”….a new offering on Arbys’ menus. Arbys does, indeed, “have the meat”, but it had always been a weird kind of roast beef that I never much liked, although It would do in a hunger pinch. Now Arby’s has a steak and cheese sandwich thing which is pretty good. It is steak, but it will never be mistaken for sirloin. The roll seems a bit big or else Arby’s should provide more meat. This costs around $9.00 for one.
Beyond this, Wendys used to make a pretty good chili, mostly
because fast food restaurants don’t usually serve such as chili and soups. Now you can still get chili at Wendys but it
is mediocre as I see it. Wendy’s has
pretty good hamburgers but win no great prizes.
There has been, of course, McDonalds and Burger King. They too are adding bacon to everything but there is always the quarter-pounder with cheese and the McDonald’s Big Mac. Nothing great, but dependable.
We move on to those “Bodegas” that around my way are called
“Wa-Wa” and “Royal Farms”.
Both of these establishments are convenient, located
everywhere, and having all sorts of foods.
Royal Farms professes its chicken to be mighty and it is very good but
on the level of KFC. Wa-Wa is frequented
in great numbers by construction and highway workers but their sandwiches are
sometimes not so much. Wa-Wa has taken
to serving pizza of late, but only after 4 pm I think. But if you’re looking for some pre-cut
watermelon or pineapple, some readymade breakfast sandwich, some apples with
peanut butter, these “bodega” type
stores might be your style.
That’s all for now.
Come back for my plan for my autobiography.
