Election 2004 and Attacks on the Young

09/07/2004

It’s now 56 days countdown to election, Kaitlyn Mae, in this year of our Lord 2004. The Republican convention is past and packed into the archives. They had a good convention, the Republicans, and the incumbent President, George W. Bush, has anywhere from a two to eleven point lead, depending on the poll.

The point being, Kaitlyn, that Bush has the lead now, finally, after all these weeks that Grandmother has watched John F. Kerry, coward and do-nothing, hold the lead that he should not have.

Grandmother worries, Kaitlyn, that you might one day be referring to a President Kerry in your history books. Assuming that there are still history books and assuming that there is one word of truth in them.

It’s also well within the 60 day pre-election window when folks such as Grandmother should refrain from negative attacks as per the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform act. I am going to say a lot of bad things about Kerry henceforth just so I risk arrest. Methinks the sight of the FEC leading Grandmother away in handcuffs would make a mighty sight bite for Katie and Matt.

It seems that with the smashing success of the Republican convention, the Kerry campaign has undergone a massive overhaul consisting mostly of installing every Clinton flack within a hundred mile radius. Former President Clinton, Kaitlyn, who yesterday, for note, underwent quadruple bypass surgery, is the leader bar none of the Democratic party. He was sent in by DNC chairman McAuliffe to save the Florida Governorship for Janet Reno and prevent California’s Governor Gray Davis from being recalled.

I’ll let Kaitlyn Mae research her history books for the success of these Clinton endeavors. Hint: NOT!

Thus it is logical that the Clintons should come to save the day in the Kerry campaign and this makes Grandmother very happy in that she really does want current President George W. Bush to be re-elected.

Also of great news import on this date is the aftermath and assessment of the Beslan school massacre in Russia.

It’s been almost a week as of this writing, but Kaitlyn Mae, the narratives and cruelties being reported from that atrocity are sickening. Although some of the main stream media keep referring to the low-lifes who descended upon that school and held over 1200 parents and children hostage for three days, as “insurgents” or even “activists”.

They were very cruel to those people, even, especially, the innocent children. They were forced to sit on the floor, stripped to their underwear, with their knees bent and touching their chins. They had to sit like this for hours at a time, Kaitlyn, and were denied water to the point that their distraught parents had them drink their own urine.

Over half of these people, 600, were murdered before the stand-off ended. Ended with a resolution still cloudy as the Russian penchant for truth is not well known.

Children tortured, bayoneted, blown up and shot in the back while trying to escape.

The people that did this, Kaitlyn, are not “insurgents”. Or “activists”. Each term meant to present a softer, more principled individual than the more direct, and accurate, term of Terrorist.

There is one thing that will strike fear and fight in the hearts of every normal human being most anywhere on the planet, sweet Granddaughter.

This would be the threat or reality of attacks on the young. On this day of our Lord, Kaitlyn, the human species has not yet been diverted to such a devastation that we do not react with the fierce defense of our children. With the possible exception of the Palestinians who, as the saying goes, do not love their children as much as they hate the Israelis.

I’ve seen birds of every kind rush en masse to save a baby bird in distress. Once I saw a baby mockingbird get stuck on a chain link fence’s sharp edge. The little bird yipped and yelped for help as it flapped about helplessly, unable or too inexperienced to get its wing off of its impediment. Bird of every variety rushed in to help the young bird. There were blue jays, robins, titmouses, chickadees, cardinals and, of course, the parent mockingbirds, all flitting about the baby mocker, all trying to pry it off the fence edge.

The birds weren’t reacting to the sound of distress of THEIR young. They were reacting to the distress sounds of a youngster of their species and they were reacting as their instincts instructed. Most normal human beings too react to the distress sounds of another human, especially one of the young.

The instinctive compulsion to save our children spills over with its strength to other children of the species. All species, given the dreadful choice of “mine or thine” will aptly choose to save their own offspring. Seldom will any species ignore the cries of the young of another.

Grandmother doesn’t know if the terrorists have finally reached the highest plateau of terror, that of torturing or murdering the young, or if the Beslan school massacre was an opportune target.

The shrug is more visible when random populace is killed by a suicide bomb or jets aimed at skyscrapers. Come the time when the young are specifically targeted, well this fits the very definition of terrorism. Ask any parent their greatest fear. Almost always it will be the concern for their children.

You would be amazed at how dim the coverage has been of this horrific event, Kaitlyn, by our country’s main stream media! Almost 600 children, tortured and massacred by Terrorists in a scenario, hey it’s not so far fetched, that could easily happen here.

Incumbent President Bush has been warning about terrorism and the need to fight it as a determined war rather than as individual criminal acts. The problems were sown and carefully tended to by the Mid-east thugs and inbred misfits who cherished oil wealth more than their own populace.

This is not a “law enforcement” problem, Kaitlyn. Fighting terrorism has to be, as Bush outlined, a methodical undoing of the harm done by a generation of loser leaders. Only the installation of a viable democracy for the mislead citizens of such countries will effect the sort of long lasting change required to eliminate terrorism as war tactic.

Sometimes, Kaitlyn, I don’t think the President explains this very well. Grandmother supposes that the President doesn’t want to insult the idiot leaders of these countries; leaders who so poorly led their nations that should be amongst the grandest and greatest on the planet with their oil wealth. These thugs and thieves still control most of the planet’s oil supply so one must walk softly with that big stick.

If there is a President Kerry in your history book, Kaitlyn, than these same thugs and thieves will likely still be in power and honored by John F. Kerry.

Let the terrorists come over here to America and start attacking our young, Kaitlyn Mae, and President Kerry or no, I suspect there will be plenty of us striking back without help of the military.

Just a grandmotherly hunch, Kaitlyn.
