CBS’ “Unimpeachable” Source

The timeline from Sept. 7 through Sept. 9 of this year is so interesting as to defy description. As early as Sept. 7, Josh Marshall, noted “friend” of Clinton smearmeister Sidney Blumenthal, was posting to his Blog about an expose soon regarding Bush and his Texas National Guard Service. CBS airs the documentary on Sept. 8 and boom, next day Sidney has a big “gotcha” article regarding Bush’s duplicity.

It gets better. Handsome DNC ads obviously piggy-backing on the CBS expose tout the President as a deserter and not true to the service he joined. The head of the DNC is up early the morning after the CBS broadcast yelling hallelujah our President is a deserter.

How far in advance did the Democratic party world know about this upcoming expose on CBS? Far enough, it would seem to fashion appropriate commercials, pretty prose in overseas’ newspapers, and to arrange public appearance for Democratic spokespeople to jump on the story. All in the name of the Democratic party’s genius ploy known as “Fortunate Son”.

None of it would matter except for that little fact that a major network having access to the public’s air waves, had to be knee-deep involved with it all for all the satellite operations to have been so well-timed.

If CBS didn’t spend quite a bit of their “impartial” time in cahoots with the DNC then my name is monkey and I don’t speak English.

I don’t suppose anything will come of this obvious collusion because while congress wastes my tax dollars endlessly debating campaign reform that would get them re-elected, the hell with actually enforcing any public issues that affect us little guys.

For the moment let’s put this aside and go onto the one mystery item in all the CBS flap that will leave me forever convinced that’s there’s a deeper, far more intriguing, source of those documents than the crazy Bill Burkett.

CBS would never have referred to Bill Burkett as an “unimpeachable source” I will never believe that. Burkett was, I suspect, a handy ‘mule’ to carry those documents all around the merry-go-round, from the real source to “Lucy Ramiraz” to Burkett to CBS, like that.

Somebody forged those documents and that somebody was not Bill Burkett. It was somebody who CBS really did think was unimpeachable.

I become a monkey once again if anybody thinks CBS didn’t know Burkett was a live bomblet with so much paranoid baggage and enough current craziness as to make him anything but unimpeachable.

Seared Again Into Kerry’s Memory

Seems Democratic Presidential Candidate, John F. Kerry, has another bogus visit seared into his memory.

Seems that during an interview with Bill O’Reilly in 2001, Kerry made the following comment:

"I mean, I was in Safwan. I went there when the signing of the armistice took place at the end of the war."

Kerry is referring to the treaty signed at the end of the 91 Gulf War. Only if Kerry WAS there at the signing than he flitted there in between various social engagements during which he was seen (one the evening prior to the signing) and legislation for which he was present and voted.

The man lies fluidly about anything. Read the details about yet another Kerry “seared” memory.

UN Oil for Food Investigator Fired

With people like this investigating we’ll never get to the bottom of the scandal. Read below and pray that somehow the thugs and thieves at the UN someday get their punishment.

Anna Di Lellio's resignation was accepted by Paul Volcker, the former head of the US Federal Reserve banking system appointed to head the independent commission investigating the now-defunct programme.

Volcker said he had accepted the resignation with "regret" in a letter to Di Lellio, who had been the director of communications for the enquiry.

"It is justified only by a most unusual combination of circumstances that, as you suggest, could impair your ability to act with full effectiveness," Volcker wrote in the letter, which was posted on the commission's website.

The resignation came after the Heritage Foundation, a Washington think tank, issued a press release noting an article that Di Lellio had written in London's Guardian newspaper two years ago.

In the piece, written on the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the United States, Di Lellio railed against "Bush and his puppeteers" as well as a US ally in the Iraq war, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

"With defenders like (Bush) and Berlusconi, largely unchecked by a sycophantic media, who needs bin Laden to destroy culture, personal freedom, respect for other human beings, integrity, and the rule of law -- all the things that make our lives worthwhile?" she wrote.

Neither she nor Volcker mentioned the Guardian story in their letters.

The "oil-for-food" programme allowed Saddam Hussein's regime, which was under international sanctions, to sell oil and use the revenues to buy humanitarian supplies.

An Iraqi newspaper in January published a list of more than 200 people suspected of pocketing money from Iraqi oil sales under the programme, the largest aid scheme in UN history.

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan appointed Volcker to head the enquiry in a bid to quell the media uproar about the corruption

Michael Moore, Dedicated Liberal…For a price

Seems Utah Valley State College’s student government is forking up $40,000 to have the unshaven fat slob, producer of the lie “Fahrenheit 911”, to come speak to them. The student government has no better use for their funds?

Tom Heal's phone has been ringing off the hook for more than a week. Like other officials at Utah Valley State College, the board of trustees member has been fielding angry phone calls and e-mails regarding the student government's decision to pay $40,000 from student fees to have liberal filmmaker Michael Moore speak to the student body on Oct. 20. But these callers aren't just outraged students and perturbed parents. "Many of the people that I have met with and talked to have their names on the sides of the building (at UVSC)," Heal said. "

Good News Week
We leave with some good news. Seems Dastardly Daschle is 3 points behind in his re-election in South Dakota. His opponent, Republican John Thune is running quite a race.

Watch the vote turnout at the great Indian reservations in South Dakota. Plenty of dead people vote on the reservations.
