This Little Nuisance Called Terrorism
=============================
Kaitlyn on this day of our Lord Grandmother cannot allow the Democratic candidate in this election year get away his comment about wanting terrorism to be reduced to a "nuisance". And I write this with a sincere heart and soul full of hope that the man does not get elected because if so, then your world will be less bright and promising.
For there’s ten thousand things wrong about Kerry’s mindset and here Grandmother has to be to work tomorrow.
Thus I shall only rebut with the most basic and strongest of points.
Many have downplayed Kerry’s comment to the NY Times this past weekend as understandable in a certain context. Kerry said that we need to get to the point where terrorism is more of a nuisance than an all consuming fact of life. He likened organized crime to terrorism. Both are dangerous and bad but organized crime has far less of an impact on our daily lives than it once did.
The assumption being that terrorism will never be eliminated, that there will always be kooks who download bomb making instructions from the Internet, or weird cults that form with the notion that only by blowing up a few hundred people would the world appreciate their cause.
The concept isn’t foreign and most Americans understand about kooks and weirdos.
There’s a whole world of difference between this planet’s current crop of terrorists and the kooks and weirdos. Differences that candidate Kerry does not take into account and right here is all the perspective anyone needs in their upcoming voting decision.
The War on Terror is not about wiping out a few kooks and weirdos. It’s not even about wiping out thousands of kooks and weirdos as if, oops, my bad, I let the terrorists become too many with my busyness.
GOVERNMENTS are supporting the terrorists of our world on this day of our Lord, Kaitlyn. I don’t know why our President doesn’t make this explicitly clear to the American people. Plenty of pundits, including insignificant Bloggers like Grandmother, have certainly waxed on it plenty. But there are just times when it should be said, firmly and openly, by the leader.
Now Grandmother supposes that Bush Dubya is facing serious obstacles in dealing with the entire situation. It is an election year and the man has to wear two hats, one as candidate and one as President. Grandmother considers that as much as Bush would like to take the bully pulpit and shout to Americans that France, Germany, Russia, China, North Korea all were sucking millions out of the UN oil-for-food program, there would too many international repercussions if he did.. Saddamn was very kind to his "friends" who kept pressuring the US to get over it already. Their aversion to becoming part of a united coalition to overthrow Hussein was based more on their loss of income than any concern over the few pesky humans killed by the weirdo terrorists.
Only entire regimes, including Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, even out little buddy Kuwait, were all encouraging the terrorists in their midst.
It was like this great big factory was churning along at the UN. Europe and Russia were making millions and taking it easy, giving socialistic 35 hour work weeks to their populace with mandatory 4 week annual vacations. The "leaders" of the Muslim mideast countries kept their populace at bay through implementation of rigid religious law and teaching a hatred of Isreal and eventually, America.
Somewhere along the way much of the planet became involved in this "fool America" behind the scenes action. Who knows, an oil-for-food wealthy France might well have hoped that Saddamn would somehow take down America. The other mideast leaders and the religious mullahs in Iran were in a dilemma. They all knew Hussein was a nut and they had no little fear that he would turn against them with dreams of endless gushing oil wells.
But hey, so long as Europe was going along then again, who knows, perhaps they envisioned a defeated America, beaten down by their own home-grown and encouraged terrorists, perhaps they decided to burn the candle at both ends. With America down, the thugs and thieves who achieved their vaunted positions through no greatness of resolve or thought, would not have to worry about losing their power. They could give every one of their disenchanted citizens a nice American house, complete with picket fence and two defeated Americans to serve as butler and maid.
Surely they, with the help of Europe and a few missiles from North Korea, could bring down Saddamn when the right time came. Until then, let the money coffers fill with the money Saddamn pilfered from the oil-for-food program the foolish Americans allowed to continue.
Some day, some way, either through the machinations of Saddamn and with greatly laundered money from Europe, some terrorist group would unleash a mighty biological weapon against the US. Once so many Americans were killed that taking over that country would be as simple a manner as stepping over the dead bodies, well then Saddamn and all the rest would likely have to fight over the spoils of victory.
This is not a science fiction novel, Kaitlyn. It’s the mindset of much of the world that is currently being revealed as Iraq’s documents and secrets become known.
Thus, sweet Granddaughter, to treat terrorism as a nuisance is to not look at the bigger picture. The terrorists currently plaguing the world are part of a greater plan. A plan perhaps not written in the Book of Rules, but a plan that should be discernible through a little attention to the facts.
In fact, Kaitlyn, the terrorists and the governments sponsoring and encouraging them, WANT Americans to think they are just nuisances. Sometimes guilty countries will "capture" the terrorists of an attack just committed, causing Americans to breathe a sigh of relief that yet another band of kooks is off the streets.
Whatever it takes to live their two-faced lives and through political correctness, the naiveté of the American people, and the cowardice of its elected leaders, the game will continue.
Then once the American people are complacent and not bothering to apply national resources to the capture of terrorists then continuing on to the overthrow of their state sponsors, boom, hit America with a September 11.
The attack of 9/11/01 was not a nuisance attack, Kaitlyn. The bombing of the US Cole, the mess in Mogadishu, these could possibly be considered "nuisance" attacks. In that those attacks could not possibly bring down America as a country.
But 9/11?
That attack was meant to destroy this country, Kaitlyn, and anyone who pooh poohs this is an idiot with no depth of thought. It was hoped that by hitting the pentagon and the twin towers, that our economy would take a drastic dive, that our populace would cower in their homes, non-productive and stagnating the country’s dynamic. Our citizens might well take to the streets in a civil war that would distract us from the actions of the rest of the world. Or so might well have been Al-Queda’s plan.
And where, Kaitlyn, does the American citizenry think that Pennsylvania flight was heading? We all know it was the capital or White House. Totally disrupt the government and military, or so went the plan.
It was not a nuisance attack, Kaitlyn.
There’s a thousand ways those suicide pilots were recruited. Most of them came from Saudi Arabia, hmmmm, the most two-faced country on the planet.
Until America is properly defeated with millions of its citizens rotting in its streets, Saudi Arabia must make nice with America, what with the Sauds having no army and its dependence on America’s oil money. Oh, the Sauds have no army because they can’t! Dictators, despots and religious extremists that "lead" a country tend not to have armies. They might have such as "special guard units" whose job it is mainly to protect the thug in chief. Regular armies comprised of ordinary civilians, conscripted or volunteer, are dangers in that the army itself could overthrow the government.
But until America is in the toilet, that pesky United States that insists on playing fair and square and giving everyone a right to participate in government will have to be respected. Still, providing Saddamn a few terrorists, helping Europe get rich through pilfered oil money, well it could lead to the destruction of America and then we’d have all the oil and Disney World to boot!
We can never let terrorism be reduced to "just a nuisance".
Organized crime, okay, we could call it on this day of our Lord, mostly a nuisance.
The American government is not supporting organized crime or encouraging American citizens to join such a murdering, thieving organization to best vent their restlessness or using the Mafia as a subterranean army to attack another country.
Grandmother supposes that President Bush must deal with the thugs, thieves and despots of Europe and the mideast in the practice of international intercourse. Thus it wouldn’t do for him to use the campaign podium to tell the world how Mubarak of Egypt is a gold cufflinked hoodlum, that the Saudis are inbred retards governing a country where women cannot drive, that Assad of Syria is a snot-nosed disaster dreaming his dream of owning a few American states, that the mullahs of Iran are nuts and the Iranian citizenry is ready to string them up for public display.
All of them, with a little help from oil-for-food rich Europe, clandestinely hoped, dreamed, even prayed, that it might be possible to topple the mighty United States of America.
This sort of international thought can never be reduced to a mere nuisance.
