There’s Something About Mahmoud’s Face
Does anyone remember the Iran hostage crisis?

If not, mine own memory is rock solid. I remember well those hostage kidnapped by the Ayatollah and held for over a year. I remember well how this country, led then by the hapless Jimmy Carter, stood by, wrung its hands and did nothing while a bunch of Americans were held by hostile forces.

It was this country’s darkest hour.

And so it turns out that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran’s President, elected by a lawful fiat of the Iranian people, NOT, was one of the captives during that long agony of the Iran hostage crisis.

Get this. Iran not only “force elected” a President, they chose a former terrorist hostage taker.

Ahmadinejad has been identified by an American captive as one of his captors.

By the way, the American hostages were release the exact DAY of Ronald Reagan’s inauguration. Illustration of the respect the Iranians had for Jimmy Carter.

Who now imagines himself to be the peace keeper save for the tiny fact that he always take the side of the bad guys.

From AOL.news:
SAVANNAH, Ga. (June 30) - An American held hostage in Iran for 444 days says ''there's no question about it'' - the country's new president was one of his captors a quarter-century ago. But others are not so sure.

Baghdad,Iraq (AHN)-The trial of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein is estimated to begin in August or September according to Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari.

"Maybe Aug. 15 or Sept. 15. But we have succeeded in making the deadline not to exceed three months, instead of being open-ended," al-Jaafari told reporters in Kuwait.

Hussein along with a dozen members of his government face 12 counts of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed over the course of three decades.

Pakistani Justice

This is the justice system the inmates at Gitmo come from. Where females are gang-raped by an edict from the “council of elders” because of a brother’s affair with someone of a higher caste.

Why isn’t Durbin on the floor of congress denouncing this instead of some alleged Koran abuse?

Musharraf lifts restrictions on rape victim's travel abroad

Published June 30, 2005

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN -- Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said Wednesday that he has lifted a ban on travel abroad for the victim in a rape case.

Musharraf's statement came one day after Pakistan's Supreme Court overturned the acquittals of 13 men and ordered their re-arrests in the 2002 gang rape of Mukhtar Mai, 33.

"Mukhtar Mai is free to go wherever she pleases, meet whomever she wants and say whatever she pleases," Musharraf said on his Web site.

"While I sincerely regret what Mai had to endure, the government is taking action to remedy it," Musharraf said.

A council of elders in Meerwala, her home village in eastern Punjab province, allegedly ordered Mai's rape as punishment for her 13-year-old brother's alleged affair with a woman from a higher caste family.

A trial court sentenced six men to death and acquitted eight others in the rape. In March, the High Court in Punjab province acquitted another five and reduced the death sentence of the sixth to life in prison. The Supreme Court ordered the re-arrest of 13 on Tuesday.
