Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson battles to prevent the band he founded from performing at a hunting convention where a deer shoot with Donald Trump Jr will be auctioned off

This is an intriguing bit of news.  Why does Brian Wilson want to stop the Beach Boys from performing?  They're passe at this point in time.

Is it because Brian Wilson, a not all that talented fellow, doesn't like President Trump?

Oscar Viewership Hits All-Time Low With 23.6 Million

First of all, few people see the movies as nominated at this point in time.  Oncit upon a time going out to a movie was the only way to be entertained by film.

Nowadays we have films on Netflix and on the Internet.  There's so much entertainment on our very televisions, even our computers, that the desire to go out, use gas, go to a movie where you can't smoke...it's not that big a deal any more.

Not to mention, ahem, a bunch of morons who think because they can pretend to be someone else have some kind of right to preach to use about cows and shout Communist manifestos.

I do still enjoy the dresses and movie music will always bring back memories.

But I can review all that on the Internet without the genius of Joaquin Phoenix telling me about sad cows.

It was a historic 92nd Academy Awards with a first Best Picture recipient not in the English language in Parasite adding an element of surprise to a largely predictable winners list. There was something historic in the ratings for the 2020 Oscars too — an historic low.

 Last year, the Academy Awards bet on no traditional host, kicked off the night with an energetic performance by Queen and Adam Lambert, employed “not hosts” with Saturday Night Live pedigree (Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph) to do an opening monologue, kept the show’s length under 3.5 hours and created a musical moment with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s performance of “Shallow.”

The result was the first ratings increase in five years, so the Oscars tried to replicate the formula Sunday: no traditional host, high-octane opening number by Janelle Monae. monologue by SNL alums Steve Martin and Chris Rock, and a surprise music performance by Eminem aimed at creating a buzzy moment.

 But the ceremony, which clocked in at 3 hours and 35 minutes — up from 3 hours, 23 minutes in 2019 — could not repeat last year’s ratings turnaround, drawing 23.6 million total viewers and a 5.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, based on Nielsen’s Live+Same Day Fast National ratings ordered by ABC. That is down double-digits from last year’s 29.6 million and a 7.7 rating of among adults 18-49.

Greta Thunberg Gets TV Series From BBC Studios

This child is a creation of some politico's harried brain.  First, she's not pleasant at all.  Yes I know she protests us nimrods causing her world to warm entirely too much.

As if mankind has anything to do with that.

I predict this is a show that will not succeed.

BBC Studios is making a TV show with 17-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg. The project was announced at the BBC Showcase trade show on Monday. No network, release date or number of episodes have yet been set. Here is the description for the series, which comes from the studio’s science unit.  “The series will follow Greta’s international crusade, which takes her to the front line of climate change in some of the most extraordinary places on earth, as she explores what actions could be taken to limit climate change and the damage it causes."

Woman dies during Australia Day eating competition

A woman died eating the cake pictured below?  She choked and had a seizure so the narrative explains.

Dying while participating in an eating competition....man that's some really bad luck.

An Australian woman died during an eating competition thrown to celebrate Australia day after choking on a lamington—the country’s national cake. The woman was 60-years-old and participating in a competition in the city of Hervey Bay in Queensland on Jan. 26. CTV News reported that the competition was held on Sunday at the Beach House Hotel. Australians commonly celebrate the public holiday with food festivals as well as parades and fireworks. People witnessing the event took videos that show a bar filled with cheering onlookers as the competition carried out. The woman choked while she was eating a lamington which is a type of sponge cake with chocolate and coconut on top. The woman then choked after having a seizure. CPR was carried out by bar staff until paramedics showed up and transported her to the nearest hospital. She died later at Hervey Bay Hospital.
