2/28/21-The Fly on the Wall gives the take on President Biden; The problem with "The Bachelor" and Race.

Yes I am compiling a Blog about the great pandemic of 2020 and how my country stupidly shut down the economy.  We will have opinions, political and cultural highlights, my personal experience, social media details, even TV reviews since I watch so much TV while in my home jail.  We shall, as always, end with a smile.

MAJOR POLITICAL EVENTS OF THE WEEK
(another update)
Merrick Garland for AG-his hearing was terrible
Cuomo has more problems
I listened to some of the hearing of the attempt to name Merrick Garland Attorney General.  I had heard of him as he was once nominated for a seat on the Supreme Court.

He did a terrible job.  Every other word was "um" or "ah".

The most ridiculous answer to a question was whether he thought that illegally entering our country is against the law.

But of course it's against the law.  But Garland, after a few thousand "ums" and "ahs" said he never really thought about it.

Say what?

This guy wants to be this country's Attorney General and he doesn't know that entering our country illegally is against our law?

There were quite a few other questions that he answered to my shock.

It was obvious that Garland wanted to please President Biden, or whoever is telling Biden what to do.  Garland seemed to care less about US....the American people.

Lord hide that man in a basement somewhere.

And there's NY Governor Andrew Cuomo.  Now he's got women coming out of the woodwork accusing him of sexual harassment.

This guy has got to go.  If you can't get impeached for murdering people and harassing women, what the heck did they impeach President Trump for?

MAJOR CULTURE EVENTS OF THE WEEK
(one more update)
Airplane Losing Its Parts in Mid-Air, lands in yards

I once had an airplane crash in my community and it was quite a turn of events.  It was a two passenger airplane and the passenger died in the crash.

The plane crashed in my daughter's school yard and all week the kids had to play around the crash.  At one point my daughter somehow snuck over near the wreck and brought home a piece of metal, sing-songing "I got a piece of the airplane".

Last week there was an airplane that had one of its engines break out in flames and start to fall off in mid air.  The airplane pieces landed in some yards below the take-off point as the engine began burning soon after take off.

I tell yon descendants to demand that airplanes be safe during your era.  The pilot managed to land the plane safely and all passengers survived.

Tiger Woods in car wreck

Yon descendants might remember Tiger Woods as a famous golfer, ties with Sam Sneed as the winner of most golf tournaments ever.

Woods has had some problems with driving.  I recall that incident where his wife hit him as he drove with a golf club and there was some lying going on.

This past week Woods managed to wreck his car most seriously.  As of this writing it is not believed he was drinking or even on drugs.  However, he sure wrecked that car.

Woods lived and looks like he will survive but one of his legs was severely wounded, with a shattered ankle requiring hardware to put it back together.

We'll follow up on Tiger's recovery.

REVIEWS TV SHOWS
(since I watch so much TV, not for my descendants)
This Bachelor Season

This review is only for this current season of the Bachelor, featuring the first black bachelor, Matt.

I got some thoughts that confuse me but I must ask that no one reveal my logic for I might be called a racist.

Matt is black, obviously.  I consider him quite handsome but if I were to be honest, he strikes me as a bit boring.  The females who are competing to be his wife are many colors, black, white, mixed race.  I consider nothing wrong with this but it was the home town dates that have me questioning.

Michelle took Matt to her home.  Michelle is a school teacher.  She has bi-racial parents.  I thought she would be a great catch for Matt.

All along I've been predicting that Rachel would be Matt's pick.  Rachel's family was all white.  Not only were they all white, they were blonde and blue-eyed white.  More on this later.

I'm not sure who is Bri's father but her mother is very white.  Meanwhile it's obvious that Bri is biracial.

Serena is from Canada, has a white mother, and is also biracial.  It was Serena who decided she wasn't ready for Matt.

The race of any of these finalists doesn't matter.  They are all attractive and seem nice enough.

But in all the discussions, not one mention was made of the race make up of these people.  In the example of Rachel, she with the very white family, you would think that in discussions between Matt and Rachel's father or mother one of them would have asked if race would cause any problems in a relationship, should Matt choose Rachel.

Not once did any of the other parents ask about race and what effects it might have on a relationship.

I am surprised.  If my daughter brought home a black man at some point I'd ask if there might be problems with racial differences.

Not that I would have a problem with my daughter bringing home a black man that she loved.  Indeed there are quite a few mixed races in my family.  But I do not believe that I wouldn't discuss all possibilities and problems with my daughter with the situation.

This season of the Bachelor is making a big deal about the race of the Bachelor, being the first black man and everything.

But the parents of those Matt might choose never ask anything about it?

So far it's been a good series but I had these questions.

EDITORIAL
(My opinion for my descendants)
Calm down, it's time for change

Does anybody remember President Jimmy Carter?

As a reminder, also for my descendants, he was the worst president so far.  During Carter's term interest rates were up towards 20%.  Several of our citizens were captured by Iran and held for over a year.  When Carter finally gave the order to rescue them airplanes crashed and people died.  Inflation was out of control.

Carter was living through a lot of change.  He only served one term because believe me, nobody wanted him for another presidential term.

I was in the prime of my life while Carter messed up America.  I owned my own house but didn't think I'd ever be able to sell it.  Mostly because nobody could afford almost 20% in mortgage interest rates.

Now Carter is still around but he's not much better.  He hobnobs with leaders around the world, an action not suppose to be allowed.

The times were changing during the Carter era.  The AT&T monopoly had been broken up.  Cell phones and transmission through the atmosphere was in its infancy.  AT&T installed all the telephone poles then in the country.  AT&T was also responsible for all equipment used on telephones.  I worked for Western Electric, a subsidiary of AT&T.

It was President Ronald Reagan who broke up AT&T, an act that subsequently cost me my job at Western Electric.

AT&T demanded that it be in charge of equipment used on their telephones.  If we wanted to be able to talk to anyone on the planet, we would need ocean cable, wires to string over the telephone poles, wires to connect phone to telephone pole wires, wires to allow a home user to speak into the telephone.

This logic was accepted and maintained  for many years as the telephone system grew and became more technologically advanced.  Came the time to break up such a huge monopoly....the deed was done.

Now we have cell phones on which we can watch movies, read books, check into the latest episode of a favored TV show.  We also have an Internet and, from our homes, we can talk to mostly anyone we want.

Thus what we call the "Big Tech" companies are in the same position as AT&T once upon a time.  They have all the power.  They had time to improve, year by year.

Be calm.  Big Tech is not going to keep that power forever.  Big Tech is now competing with an American population that has spent their lives pursuing their own happiness.  Using Parler as an example, sure Big Tech had the power to take this new system down but it didn't last long.  There are American citizens that have pursued their happiness to a vast knowledge and given time and patience, Big Tech will be conquered.

Soon enough the politicos will be made aware that having a bunch of computer companies controlling our speech is not acceptable to the American public, just as there were Americans who wanted to manufacture telephone cords and install ocean cable besides mighty AT&T.

It will take some time for the politicos to know that they will be unelected if they don't pass some kind of control over the censorship being done by the Big Tech companies.

Perhaps I am being too optimistic.  But I truly believe that Americans, given a constitution based on freedom and the personal pursuit of happiness, will not accept the control currently being allowed.  There is much talent in America.  Parler came back.  The stock market won't be solely controlled by some companies that collude to choose who wins and who loses.

This will all change.  Watch the next four years.  Like AT&T before (which is the SAME AT&T that now sells cell service) them, Big Tech will be slapped down.

THE FLY ON THE WALL

Yes I am a fly and yes I also Blog.  I tend to wander around among the politicians and hear their conversation.  Because I am a fly beneficial to humanity, I share that which I hear. Bear in mind my spelling.  I am, after all, only a fly.

Dealing with President Biden

"He never stays awake past 7:00 pm!  He has migraines that make him lay down for hours at a time!  We have Kamala covering foreign dealings for him but she needs more training!"

I was flying around when I flew into this room as I saw a few people that I'd seen on the human TV sets.  I know one was Valeria Jarrett, one was former President Barack Obama, a couple others I had seen on computer screens and televisions but did not know their name.  The above sentence was what was being said by Valeria  as I entered the room.

Evidently they were discussing a problem with President Biden.

"We need a couple of more months or the American public will never buy it!" I heard former President Obama exclaim.

There was silence for a full five minutes.

I am only a fly and never had an opportunity to be in the same room with President Biden.  I have, however, seen him on various computer forums and the human televisions.  I am not an expert on human behavior but I do know that President Biden isn't quite right.

"Let's meet again next week," Valeria said as she stood up to leave.  "You need to figure out a way to keep Biden out of the public eye as much as possible.  We need to spend more time teaching Kamala how to handle world leaders. "

At this point Valeria stopped and took a deep breath.  Then she said something that shocked this fly.

"We need a few more months.  Then," Valeria said as she blew a breath wind up her face...."then Biden will have a massive stroke.  We'll find a way to make it happen, either for real or by fakery."

Again the room acquired what humans call a "pregnant silence".

"I'll see you all next week, same time and place," Valeria said and left the room.
