Delaware: Grandmother's Advice to Lynn Rogers

Delaware-Three Electoral Votes and Ready to Rumble

Judd Concedes

Over 17,000 votes were cast for county councilman, 3rd district, Sussex county. The incumbent, Lynn Rogers, won by, count them, THREE votes.

There were two recounts and a few problems but one can only recount the votes so many times until somebody has to concede.

If anything, Mr. Judd, damn that campaign song of yours was so neat I can still hear it in my head. A little dumb though, what with being a parody of The Beverly Hillbillies and such a thing would never do in New Castle county.

We Like This Letter to the Editor

Although the election is over I would like to call attention to an ad in the southbound land of Route 1, just north of Oyster Rocks Road. It showed a horse looking over a fence telling us to quite horsing around and re-elect Rogers to the County Council.

When you consider the number of signs Rogers besmirched the countryside with I would like to have seen the other end of the horse which would indicate my opinion of Rogers.

It did get a bit tiring see Lynn Rogers everywhere one looked this past election campaign. And even with all that the man only won by three votes?

Here’s a bit of advice, Mr. Rogers. Do what you have to do to get elected in Sussex county any more.

Put an “R” in that column by your name for party affiliation.

Yes I recall the Republican party itself telling me that Sussex County Democrats were the same as Republicans.

Know what, Lynn, the voters sent you a message this past election. A relative unknown Republican almost beat you!

Sussex County is a RED county, Lynn, and we’re not going to give Democrats much slack round these parts, even if they are alleged to be “the same as Republican”.

TOMORROW: That pesky fly on the wall flew in to overhear a conversation between Sidney and Hillary re the ban on the movie "Saving Private Ryan". Seems Sid arranged the whole thing….well, read the whole story TOMORROW

Also, a compliment from a wonderful man and another reader. Modesty lost with this Blog post.
