Below, a synopsis of the winning book.

Manny Roberts had always been a friend and a decent man, as Georgette Robinson considered him. She admired him so much that she had always been his most enthusiastic political campaign supporter all the way up to the most important political position in the land-President of the United States.
Then Georgette caught Manny Roberts molesting a child. And it was only weeks until the presidential election.
Sure she told Manny's political party and she thought Manny would immediately be pulled from his candidacy with such knowledge known about the candidate.
Wrong.
It was too late for the party to recruit another candidate, and Georgette was told that no one would believe her anyway.
Desperate to keep a pervert from becoming President, Georgette investigates other strange instances of Manny Roberts involving children. She discovers a nefarious, but well-hidden, path of payoffs and bribery.
With the presidential election weeks away, Georgette stands alone in her quest to get someone's-anyone's-attention about this matter.
Finally, she gets the attention of all of America, but in a very unorthodox manner that landed her in jail.
In the end, Georgette is destined for greatness. Just as soon as she gets out of jail.

Peter Jennings Dies
It's not that I have no sympathy for his family.
And it's not that the guy had a job just like all us ordinary schlepps who get no grand praises when we pass.
It's not even, ladies and gems, that he was known as "Palestine Pete" and wasn't even an American citizen until 2003.
It's the endless televised paeans to Peter Jennings, 67 and former news anchor, who died yesterday of lung cancer.
Dear Lord it gets old.
The vast majority of the American people, while giving a passing nod to a man they once saw on their TV's, do not love the guy THIS much.
Last night, that punk David somebody who I cannot stand, spent an hour on Chris Matthews' "Hardball" with an offering of the most inane sop I've ever heard.
"My teacher told me if I was going to be a journalist than I must have a curiosity about all things," David pimple face said with a seriousness that had me bowing my head and making the sign of the cross. "Didn't Peter too have such a curiosity?" David smart-alec MSNBC White House correspondent solemnly intoned to Ted Koppel.
Who immediately responded with an affirmation of Peter Jennings' curious nature.
As if Peter Jennings WAS THE ONLY CURIOUS MAN IN ALL OF AMERICA AND AS IF ONLY JOURNALISTS ARE CURIOUS!
They want to seem important, The Old Media. They want to sit around and discuss Watergate and talk about Peter Jennings who was really an American traitor in my book, and they want to be self-important.
Well of course I eventually changed the channel but for some moments I had to sit mesmerized by how these people actually think they are the brains of this country.
They make me sick.

The Perp Lineup at the UN Begins
John Bolton, reviled and lambasted by the Democrats who are likely knee-deep in Saddam's happening and hip "oil-for-palaces" program, is at the UN.
Yesterday the first UN thief did the perp walk and soon there will be more.
Soon enough we'll see Kofi and Benon Sevon taking that perp walk.
Because ladies and gems these folks stole billions of dollars from everyone on this planet but especially from the United States of America.
The recipients of the UN's campaign contributions tried their darnedest to block John Bolton because folks, they don't want that guy over there demanding that the UN be honest or anything. And maybe stop raping women in the countries they are supposed to help. Or maybe stop massacres as they occur. Or maybe, hey, just a suggestion....DO SOMETHING!
They make me sick.

One of the targets U.N. Oil-for Food investigation, Alexander Yakovlev (search), was stripped of his diplomatic immunity Monday and taken into custody by federal authorities, a U.N. spokesman announced Monday.
The U.S. attorney's office took Yakovlev into custody hours after Paul Volcker
the man in charge of the U.N.-approved probe into Oil-for-Food, fingered Yakovlev as one of two main U.N. officials involved in the program's corruption.
Yakovlev, a longtime U.N. procurement official who handled tens of millions of dollars worth of U.N. supply contracts annually, was accused in a report Monday of collecting nearly $1 million in kickbacks outside the Oil-for-Food (search) program.
