Web Site Worth the Visit Looking for an "800" Number? Hard to Find 800 Numbers |
TIDBITS Three contractors are bidding to fix the White House fence. One from Texas, another from Tennessee and the third, Florida. They go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Florida contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says. "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me." The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me." The Texas contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers: "$2,700." The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?" "Easy," he explains, "$1,000 for you, $1,000 for me and we hire the guy from Tennessee." |
Keeping on Top of Media and Enemy Lies
This story has been all over the Blogosphere but let us document it here for posterity and the two or three readers of this blog a day.
The picture below shows people lying bloody and dead. The picture caption states that "The Haditha Massacre is far worse than My Lai". Neither the picture or the caption are related.
The picture, you see, is a picture of Iraqi civilians killed by TERRORISTS in a completely unrelated incident to Haditha. By combining the picture with the caption, the reader is misled into believing the picture is one OF the so-called Haditha massacre. When, in fact, the picture is of people killed by the enemy we are fighting, not by our Marines.
What a lousy piece of journalism, not to mention outright deceit, this story is. And if you think this crap was printed by some way-out newspaper, think again. This story and the lying picture was published by the London Times.
They HATE our soldiers, folks. They want America to lose. Who are "they"?
Well we can be assured that any media that would be so blatantly deceptive is at least part of "they". According to the quote below, the Chicago Sun Times used a variation of the picture for a political cartoon.
All based on a lie, ladies and gems. A lie meant to damage American image.
If that's not an enemy, define one for me.
From FreeRepublic.com
Various media around the world have been using this shocking photo to smear the US Marines in connection with the Haditha incident.
As Michelle Malkin has reported, the photo has nothing to do with US Marines: "The photo is of fishermen executed in a Haditha stadium by terrorists six months before the Nov. 19 incident under investigation by the US military."
That didn't stop the Times of London from running it on June 1st, alleging is was of the alleged Marine action in Haditha. The Times later apologized.
Nor did it stop Chicago Sun Times cartoonist Jack Higgins from using the photo as inspiration for this cartoon. The Sun Times later apologized.
And although the connection of US Marines with the scene depicted in the photo has now been thoroughly debunked, that hasn't stopped Al-Jazeera Publishing from using it again today.
Bolton to U.N.-Apologize or Lose Your Funding
Gotta love Ambassador John Bolton, America's envoy to the U.N. Who the Democrats refused to confirm by the way, forcing the President into appointing Bolton via recess appointment. Also, get THIS, the Times online linked below, describes Bolton as a "Republican right-winger"-what the hell kind of impartial journalism is this? John Bolton is our ambassador to the U.N. Period. A newspaper without an agenda would have stated it as such. Period.
Malloch Brown is an Englishman appointed Kofi Annan's Chief of Staff after meeting with the "Clintons". Heh. Recently Brown made disparaging comments about "middle America" and how little we understood the role of the U.N. That would be thou and me, yon ladies and gems. WE are the stupid ones who think an international body in charge of monitoring Saddam's "oil-for-food" program should have seen to it that the Iraqi people benefited from that country's oil, not friends and wizards of Kofi Annan and other U.N. bigwigs. Silly us American people.
Ambassador Bolton last week threatened Annan with a cut off of American funds unless he apologized for his insult to the American people, whose tax dollars pay 22% of the freight for this corrupt organization. Silly, silly, us American people.
Kofi's soft-spoken response? "I think the message that was intended is that the US needs the UN, and the UN needs the US, and we need to support each other," Mr Annan said. "I think the speech by my deputy should be read in the right spirit and let's put it behind us and move on."
Reminds me of Move-On.org, an organization supported by George Soros who is also, coincidentally, Kofi Annan's landlord!
From Timesonline:
AMERICA'S bitter dispute with the United Nations escalated last night when John Bolton, the US envoy to the UN, threatened to withhold funding to the organisation unless it apologised for the remarks of a senior British official.
Really Want to Know What Liberals Think of Our Soldiers?
Check out this comment from a review on the movie "Road to Guantanamo", a far left film produced by the likes of Michael Moore.
From The Hollywood Liberal.com:
This film illustrates in crystal clear detail why the U.S. military needs to recruit very dumb, totally uneducated, and mostly southern cracker soldiers who are already racist bastards who have never left their hometowns and believe all the garbage they are taught in school about how we are the good guys, and everything we do is just and right. The Army can then brainwash them to treat other human beings in such a grotesque and inhuman manner.
Paid for With Our Tax Dollars
Help me out here. The EPA is an acronym for The Environmental Protection Agency. An organization set up to monitor the environment as I understand its purpose.
So why is this taxpayer-funded organization celebrating "Gay and Lesbian Pride Month"? Is this some sort of big holiday thing? Do any of yon readers' employers celebrate such a thing?
And look at how much time and money is devoted to this "celebration"! Golly, we have speakers and time off to attend various ceremonies and can't forget the regional and laboratories of the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY.
I always thought that was a government agency with a mission to protect the ENVIRONMENT! What on earth are they doing devoting an entire month to celebrate Gay and Lesbian Pride?
From FreeRepublic.com:
MEMORANDUM SUBJECT: Gay and Lesbian Pride Month 2006
FROM: Karen D. Higginbotham, Director Office of Civil Rights
TO: All EPA Employees
During the month of June, we recognize the diversity of our workforce by celebrating and observing Gay and Lesbian Pride Month. This year's international theme is "Pride, not Prejudice." As members of the EPA workforce and community, it is important that we treat each other with dignity and respect.
The EPA Office of Civil Rights, Diversity Program for Sexual Orientation is sponsoring an opening event in concert with the EPA-approved Chapter of Gay, Lesbian, Or Bisexual Employees (GLOBE). The opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Pavilion Room on the second floor of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. We are extremely pleased to have an outstanding guest speaker -- accomplished actress, writer, and producer Sheryl Lee Ralph.
In addition, we will have Gilles Marchildon, Executive Director for Egale Canada (Equality Canada) and the Egale Canada Human Rights Trust as a speaker. The program will take place June 28, 2006 in the Rachel Carson Room of the Ariel Rios Building from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
There will be other activities sponsored at regional offices and laboratories during the month. Please join us at these events and encourage all employees to attend. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Jerome King, National Diversity Program Manager, at (202) 564-7429.
Mississippi, Still Reeling from Katrina, Hosts Obesity Summit
Haily Barbour is a Republican lest yon readers accuse me of poking fun at only Democrats.
We suppose there's something about attracting conventions and such to the state one governs. Although this event appears to be strictly a home-grown event. I saw Barbour upon my TV during Hurricane Katrina, complaining about lack of funds to Mississippi, like they all do.
Is this "summit" all that important when there are still Mississippi homeowners with tarps on their roofs? Barbour, no lightweight himself, did not commit to a diet although he pledged to lead by "example". We shall see.
From Azstarnet.com:
On Thursday, Barbour will host the Healthy Mississippi Summit, where state and national experts will discuss ways to promote nutrition and an active lifestyle. The goal is a statewide approach similar to programs already operating in Arkansas, Michigan and elsewhere.
And taking a cue from Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee - who lost 110 pounds to improve his health, after starting at 290 - Barbour says he'll lead by example.
Castro Will Live 60 More Years
Since the era of John F. Kennedy it has been America's position to sit and wait for Fidel Castro to die. This lovely despot is now 80 years old and now we understand he is so healthy he might live 60 more years?
To add to Castro's longevity possibilities, the man even gave up smoking his beloved Cuban cigars in 1986. Cuba prides itself on its cradle to grave health care system. Heh. The life span of the average Cuban, assuming they aren't killed by Castro himself, is 77 years. The exact same as the United States.
Except Cubans live on an island with an average daily temp in the mid-70's. Hurricanes are a problem but there are no frigid days, there are no snow storms, there are no tornados. And yet Cubans, even with their vaunted health care, regularly risk life and limb to make it to Florida shores.
From ABCNEWS.com:
- Ditching the cigars but not the army fatigues, Cuban leader Fidel Castro leads a life that guarantees he'll live more than a century, according to his doctor.
"He is going to live 140 years," said Dr. Eugenio Selman, who heads the 120 Years Club that promotes healthy habits for the elderly.
Top Ten Presidential Legacies
The site linked below has more detail for each number on the list. Someone tell me what "apostasy" is because that's Clinton's legacy. Does it have something to do with blow jobs?
From the Prometheusinstitute.net:
10. John F. Kennedy's ambition.
9. Dwight Eisenhower's vision for the Interstate Highway System.
8. Teddy Roosevelt's leadership on the Panama Canal.
7. LBJ's civil rights protection.
6. Bill Clinton's apostasy.
5. Richard Nixon's resistance to the haters.
4. James Polk's fearless purchase of the southwestern United States at pennies an acre.
3. Ronald Reagan's free-market stewardship.
2. Harry Truman's decision to drop the Bomb.
1. George Washington's limitation of his own power.
Barney Frank Aided 9-11 Hijackers
Now here's a real political tidbit that will likely fly far below the radar. Barney Frank is a Massachusetts’ (where else?) congress critter who sponsored a bill in 1990 that disallowed the deportation of individuals associated with known terrorist organizations. In fact, the "Frank" amendment disallowed the non-granting of visas to individuals associated with known terrorist organizations.
The Patriot Act restored this country's ability to hey, go with me here, deny individuals visas to applicants who were deemed a threat to this country. Even with the Patriot Act, Barney Frank voted against it, stating
"the mere espousal or endorsement, of terrorist activity casts far too wide a net of exclusion."
Bear in mind that these proponents of terrorism are NOT American citizens. They are foreigners who want to visit America and because of Barney the wonder congress critter, we could not deny such visas to the likes of Mohammad Atta.
It's OUR country folks. We can deny cherished visas to anyone who might pose a threat to our citizenry, duh. This is not rocket science here. Would we allow entry to our homes to anyone who might pose a threat to our family? Even if we had no definitive proof that an individual might be a threat, isn't the suspicion good enough for the sanctity of our own homes? Yet Frank allowed political correctness, plus, who knows, perhaps he thought the terrorism lovers granted visas would vote Democrat.
From Massnews.com:
Blame For 9/11
A recent "Freedom of Information" request has revealed that nearly 10,000 documents still exist that the 9/11 Commission were told were destroyed, and this may not fare very well for Barney Frank.
According to Scott Malone of NavySeals.com and Christopher Law from the Public Education Center, these documents show that the CIA knew that several of the hijackers on 9/11 who were in the country were associated with Al-Qaeda. But authorities were powerless to deport them because of an amendment to an immigration law that Frank had authored.
Democratically Elected al Qaeda Appoints Zarqawi Successor
We're not sure what the "shura" council is but we must assume it is the lawfully elected "congress" of terrorist organization al Qaeda. For no sooner had Zarqawi's death been confirmed then this same shura appointed a successor to the thug. And so quick too. I marvel at how quickly they organized a replacement election, goodness. And just what country does shura represent?
A militant called Sheikh Abu Hamza al-Muhajer has been named on a website used by the Islamist terrorists.
"The shura council of al Qaeda in Iraq unanimously agreed on Sheikh Abu Hamza al Muhajir to be a successor to Sheikh Abu Musab al Zarqawi," said a statement signed by al Qaeda.
Speaking of reaction to Zarqawi's death, read below and weep. These are AMERICANS defending this beheading thug.
Know your enemy folks, he or she might be sitting right in the cubicle next to you.
From World Net Daily.com:
Other liberals at Democratic Underground were foaming at the mouth with indignation about the mission to kill Zarqawi: "He's a fictitious character," said the poster "ShortnFiery." Another poster named "wizdum" agreed: "... I never believed in this pat story of al-Qaida in Iraq. It set off my ******** meter right from the get go."
Meanwhile, at another liberal website named Daily Kos, some liberals were outright upset that the military had chosen to kill a terrorist. "Bush's idea of justice is bombs falling out of the sky?" asked a user named "Justice."
Another user named "ronik" expressed a similar sentiment: "If you agree with this killing, do you also agree with lynchings because people 'knew' the person was guilty and should be put to death? Also, do you support the death penalty? I don't, but at least those people have been put on trial. Why should it be different for this person?"
Put Zarqawi on trial? Dear Lord, tell those children at Daily Kos that we are at war here. We SAW the Zarqawi video of him beheading Nick Berg.
You can't make it up.
Speaking of You Can't Make It Up
The Whole Foods seafood market in Austin, Texas is considering stopping the sale of live lobsters. Seems the lobsters get mistreated. By who? Why by the people who boil them then drench them in butter.
From the STATESMAN.com:
the Whole Foods leadership will discuss whether to discontinue marketing live lobsters because the lobsters may not be getting humane treatment. At issue here is what people do with the lobsters when they take them home - that is, boil them and dip them in drawn butter. "It's ultimately how they're handled by the consumer after they go home that's a concern," Lowery said.
Now folks, salmon, perch, tilapia, all get boiled, baked, stuffed and in general treated badly. Whole Foods is also concerned about selling live clams.
There's also that matter of children tapping the tanks holding the live lobsters and goodness, can't have that.
Heh. Below is the Google advertisement on the same page as the above quoted article.

Ban the Book...That's the Ticket
Whether you agree or disagree with Ann Coulter's assessment of the opportunistic Jersey girls, should her book really be banned? Is this how a democratic society handles disagreements?
And yet two New Jersey Democrats are proposing just that.
From Boortz.com:
we now have two New Jersey Democrats (state legislators) who have announced that they want Coulter's books banned in New Jersey. That's right. Banned. They weren't happy just to urge people not to buy the book, they actually want to use the police power of the New Jersey State Government to prevent the books from being sold in the first place! This is America? They're names, by the way, are Joan Quigley and Linda Stender. We'll note that unless we have some rather odd family names at work here, they're both women. These two ladies issued a press release last Friday that was carefully crafted to contain two dominant leftist trigger words. In that release they said;
"Ann Coulter's criticism of 9-11 widows, whose only desire since the attacks have been to repair their shattered lives and protect other families from the horrors they have experienced, is motivated purely by petty greed and hate. .... Coulter's vicious characterizations and remarks are motivated by greed and her desire to sell books . . . She is a leech trying to turn a profit off perverting the suffering of others."
Okay, Ann Coulter is a leech trying to make some bucks by writing a book. Horrors. But here's something even more interesting. Jersey Girl Kristin Breitwesier is ALSO writing a book, due to be released this September. Coincidentally on the fifth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. Not that I'm accusing Ms. Breitwesier of capitalism or anything. The title is "Wake-Up Call : The Political Education of a 9/11 Widow."
Will Breitwesier's book also be banned in New Jersey?
