Quote of the Day
THE TRUE CONSERVATIVE CASE AGAINST STEM CELL FUNDING

"By its very nature, government politicizes everything it touches. Science is no exception. Stem cell research needs neither government money nor politics. It is better is to get the government out and let the private sector continue its good work. Those people calling for increased funding could take out their checkbooks and support it. Those who oppose embryonic stem cell research would not be forced to pay for it."

Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

Dr. Phil: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on "this" side of the road before it goes after the problem on the "other side" of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his "current" problems before adding "new" problems.

Oprah: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

George W. Bush: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either against us or for us. There is no middle ground here.

Donald Rumsfeld: Now, to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

Anderson Cooper, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

John Kerry: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am for it now and will remain against it.

Judge Judy: That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

Pat Buchanan: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

Martha Stewart: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level.

Dr. Seuss: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed, I've not been told.

Ernest Hemingway: To die in the rain. Alone.

Grandpa: In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road and that was good enough.

Barbara Walters: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting and went on to accomplish its life long dream of crossing the road.

John Lennon: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

Aristotle: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

Bill Gates: I have just released eChicken2006, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken. The platform is much more stable and will never ever, ever reboot.

Albert Einstein: Did the chicken really cross the road or did the road move beneath the chicken?

Al Gore: I invented the chicken!

Colonel Sanders: Did I miss one?

"The Big Dig" Corruption Deepens

Ah, here's one of my favorite subjects. Massachusetts' famous "Big Dig", that many billion dollar project financed by mostly federal funds (that's YOU and ME, folks) that has been a boondoggle from the git-go, going over-budget by double digits.

Now we have alleged memos written by "safety inspectors" to construction companies being reported by the Boston Globe. A picture of the memo was even printed in the newspaper.

Which is all well and good except the memo is not real. Perhaps the Boston Globe would call the memo "fake but accurate" much like Dan Rather stupidly termed his fake National Guard documents published on "60 minutes" to try and derail the 2004 election.

Folks, this is one confusing mess. Originally I had saved the link below because I truly thought the memo was legit. Later on in the week Howie Kurtz lambasted the Globe for publishing such a questionable document.

So why are Massachusetts' safety inspectors manufacturing memos to construction companies warning of danger? Which now appears to be the case and which makes me think some people are covering their butts AFTER the fact.

This boondoggle of a federal pork belly has yet to inflict the damage that will eventually come from it. Already one innocent Massachusetts' citizen has lost her life when concrete crushed the car in which she was a passenger.

Helped along by Kennedy and Kerry and a host of other Massachusetts politicos, The Big Dig brought votes and labor support and kept some real creeps in power.

Now the Massachusetts' citizens must pay for what they voted for.

From Boston.com:
BOSTON --Officials at a Big Dig construction company have been unable to locate a memo a safety officer said he wrote in 1999 warning his superiors that portions of a tunnel's ceiling could collapse, a newspaper reported Saturday.

Breaking News Alerts The Boston Globe, which first reported on the memo Wednesday, cited a construction industry official it did not identify as saying that officials at Modern Continental Construction Co. were searching their files for the memo and taking other steps to determine whether it is authentic

Protecting the Political Elites or Protecting the Constitution?

We don't want the executive branch of our government, or its subsidiary, the Department of Justice, running roughshod over the peoples' elected representatives.

That being said and understood, let's talk about Louisiana Rep. William Jefferson. For already investigators have discovered almost $100K worth of cash in his refrigerator and caught the man red-handed in a sting operation.

It would seem the people's representative elected in Louisiana is guilty of something here.

Now Denny Hastert teamed up with Nancy Pelosi proving that politics makes strange bedfellows. Both leaders ripped into the executive branch for daring to subpoena and abscond with records from Rep. Jefferson's office.

The executive branch, for its part and advised with a phalanx of lawyers, did not have the investigators pore through what would ordinarily be legislative stuff but with the honest Jefferson, who knows? The executive branch instead designated a team of impartial investigators who would be responsible for culling through the seized documents and only pulling out those pertinent to the investigation.

See, to allow the Dept. of Justice to willy-nilly go through the legislators' papers would bring up all sorts of distasteful scenarios. Get a couple of the opposition party's moles in the investigation, have important and controversial legislation pending, and it's entirely possible for a not so righteous administration to effectively take over the legislators' jobs by arranging leaks, plants and all manner of mischief.

Could happen.

But come on. Representative Jefferson of Louisiana is very suspect. Sure we people out here in la-la land want our elected representatives protected from domination by the administration. We don't want this at the total expense of allowing our elected representatives to run roughshod over honest and non-corrupt behavior.

What's interesting is how this administration has chosen to deal with the sticky situation. The appointment of "independent investigators", and the vetting of these same investigators we must assume, is not stipulated in the constitution but it does seem a fair way to keep our representatives honest without sacrificing taint to the legislative process.

Look for this case to go to the Supreme Court. Whose job it is, when they are not actually legislating from the bench, to determine if the meaning and intent of the constitution is being perverted by actions of its two co-government branches.
From Breitbart.com:
A federal appeals court on Friday barred the Justice Department from reviewing evidence seized from a Louisiana congressman's office during an unprecedented FBI raid on his Capitol Hill office in May.

A three-judge panel ordered a federal trial judge to ensure that Democratic Rep. William Jefferson be given copies of seized evidence contained on more than a dozen computer hard drives, several floppy disks and two boxes of paper documents.

The panel said Jefferson then must be given the opportunity to invoke legislative privilege claims in private with the trial judge.

Saddam Really Had WMD's & Connections to Terrorism

For some reason, totally lost on me, this administration very reluctantly allows or admits that the lovely Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and extensive terrorist ties. It's not even debatable any more.

Instead, the kookoids have been allowed to get out and about and give Chris Matthews' his favorite talking point-that Saddamn had no weapons of mass destruction and, thus, the U.S. Iraqi invasion to take him out, was based on lies.

Senator Rick Santorum and Rep. Peter Hoekstra have been out tooting the horn that since the American invasion of Iraq there have been plenty of chemical and pre-nuclear weapons found, so many that just can't be explained away by such platitudes that these were all leftovers from the first Gulf War.

I read somewhere that the administration downplays the remaining nasty weapons found in Iraq because they didn't want terrorists sent in from Iran doing their own scavenger search, perhaps coming upon some mustard or VX gas, and use them, boom, all handy, right there and everything. The underlying notion being to protect our soldiers.

Could be. Because for sure the refrain "no weapons of mass destruction" has become the mantra of the left. I, however, resent it because I frankly don't want history changed; history changed that my descendents read about the dismal absence of WMD's in Iraq and said untrue statements becoming a basis for future actions against dangerous dictators who would like nothing more than to fell the mighty U.S.A. to live their despotic lives unfettered by the "good guys".

Add to what was actually discovered in Iraq, discoveries that Santorum and Hoekstra want documented and discovered, now we have citizens and professionals alike busy translating documents discovered in Iraq that very plainly detail Saddam's weapons program and his ties to Al Queda and other terrorist groups. Saddam was knee-deep into no good, ladies and gems, and he really had to be stopped.

Here is my interview with citizen translator Joseph Shahda,
and HERE are his translations sorted into category and date order.

Below a link to an important discussion on Saddam's WMD's.

From Frontpagemag.com:
Despite the antiwar Left's favorite mantra about how Bush lied regarding WMDs in Iraq, the evidence now proves there were WMDs after all.

According to recent announcement made by Senator Rick Santorum and Rep. Peter Hoekstra , approximately 500 weapons munitions, containing degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent, have been discovered in Iraq since 2003. Saddam, therefore, had the means to put WMDs into terrorists' hands.

Threats to Conservative Bloggers

Just when the anti-American left Communistic finally got the Lamestream media under control, along comes Bloggers and now the left must deal with them.

Larry Johnson is a former CIA analyst who wrote about a decreasing terrorism threat just two months before 9/11/01 to illustrate how up to snuff he was on the matter. Johnson is a certified nut case and, sadly, there were a whole lot of Larry Johnsons in the CIA. I don't know if they were being paid by oil-for-food money or were running on some nutzoid theology, but a large faction of the CIA was behind the scenes trying to derail this country's war on terrorism. And, of course, there were the lovely Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson, all part of that CIA cabal.

In addition, I heard it through the grapevine that none other than George Soros himself, that vaunted financier of the Democratic party, was behind a push to help bring down influential conservative Bloggers.

Bloggers are a danger, folks. Every day more and more people tune into either individual Blogs or the big group Blogs such as FreeRepublic. The Dan Rathers of the Lamestream Media are slowly fading into obscurity as the lairs and crackpots that they were.

For a Blogger folks, is some idiot sitting around in his/her pajamas just typing and posting opinions. Most times a Blogger is not affiliated with any political group except in terms of idealology. Other folks begin to read various Bloggers and hey, guess what? Another point of view beyond the Dan Rathers.

Below, a link to one such threat from nut case Larry Johnson.

From Newsbusters.org:
Johnson wrote:
I know where you are living. You forget that I do work for the European Union and friends in Interpol. I've offered you a mature way to deal with this situation. You're obviously too immature and inexperienced to recognize the offer for what it is. Too bad.

Michael Schiavo Campaigns Against Lieberman

Why are we not surprised?

Michael Schiavo is the fellow who got all involved with that loving death attorney and insisted that his wife, Terri, be starved to death. Even though her parents were willing to take over care for her and Michael would have been free to continue on with his life unfettered.

It's kind of like the Jersey Girls when you think about it. The left now has itself another professional victim, this time the lovely Michael Schiavo who was so put upon by legislators who tried to stop the starvation of his wife which served no purpose, no purpose whatsoever. THIS professional victim now has "absolute moral authority" to campaign against Joe Lieberman, a Senator who voted to resist starving Terri Schiavo.

Links to this Blog's coverage of the Schiavo drama as it occurred HERE ,HERE and HERE.

From Boston.com:
Michael SchiavoHARTFORD, Conn. --Michael Schiavo stumbled over the name of the man he was in Connecticut to support Friday, but after fighting Congress for the right to disconnect his brain-damaged wife's feeding tube, he had no problem remembering whom he was campaigning against.

Baltimore's O'Malley-What's REALLY Going On?

Folks, I've been following this story since the uproar on FreeRepublic.com began. In short, a poster at FR was an Ehrlich staffer. Another poster, using the name MD4BUSH began posting to FR threads and soon there was an orchestrated attempt by this MD4BUSH character to get the Ehrlich staffer to publicly lambaste Baltimore's Mayor O'Malley.

It's the sort of really weird crap the Democrats do. They love to set someone up then hackle and scream like hyenas that so-and-so is playing nasty games, the same games they themselves orchestrated. Same scenario as Plame and Wilson, frankly. So the MD4BUSH guy, whoever he or she is, managed to get the force behind him or her and got Joseph Steffan, that Ehrlich staffer, fired. Poor Joe Steffan was a victim, just a guy posting about politics, seduced as part of some grand scheme to protect Baltimore Mayor O'Malley's reputation as a womanizer by blaming it all on a Republican lie campaign. You can't make it up folks, and it always amuses me. Republicans at times do not have a clue.

Now the story gets a bit more sinister. Because it turns out that Baltimore's former police commissioner, Kevin P. Clark, is suing the city of Baltimore. Clark was fired by O'Malley and it's not clear why. Clark is asserting in his lawsuit that O'Malley buddy, Baltimore Labor Commissioner Sean Malone, had his laptop computer subpoenaed by the Baltimore police and Clark says the true identity of MD4BUSH would be exposed on Malone's computer.

For now, forget all that crap. SOMETHING is on Malone's computer. In another article, Malone readily admits there was some sexual content on his computer but he shrugged it off as inconsequential.

Folks, police don't willy-nilly take some bureaucrat's desktop computer for a few accessed porn web sites. And police commissioners don't get fired for it either. SOMEONE in Baltimore politics is involved in child porn. It's the ONLY thing that makes sense.

What on earth would be so valuable on an INDIVIDUAL computer? Except downloads, chat records, graphic pictures unique to a specific computer.

This Malone fellow might be the guilty one and it would appear that O'Malley needs Malone and not only fired the Baltimore police commissioner but is protecting Malone's computer now sitting deep in the bowels of the Baltimore police evidence room.

Malone, or someone using his computer, got caught in a child porn sting. It's how they catch these guys. O'Malley fired Kevin Clark and the investigation has been mired since then. Clark now claims that more details, including the identity of nasty operator MD4BUSH, can be found on that laptap computer that no one can seem to get to.

I think there's waaaaay more on that laptap than anyone is admitting.

It's my story and I'm sticking to it.

From the Washington Times:
BALTIMORE -- A former police commissioner suing the city says he can implicate an associate of Mayor Martin O'Malley in a 2004 plot that entrapped Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s administration in a rumor-mongering scandal.

Kevin P. Clark, who is suing over being fired in November 2004, says he lost his job, in part because a police probe of a city-owned laptop stolen from Baltimore Labor Commissioner Sean R. Malone threatened to expose Mr. Malone's link to the scandal.

Bill Clinton Works Against American Interests Again

I do not believe in global warming, so sue me. Which is not to say that I would not believe that global warming is occurring should someone prove it to me beyond what I suspect to be a third world way to tie the hands of the United States by forcing adherence to ridiculous energy and environmental laws intended to hold back this country, NOT to cleanse the environment.

But a bunch of so-called "scientists" can gather over a couple of beers and decide that they need importance and some federal funds to investigate why the earth's climate is getting warmer, get a little help from the anti-American media, and boom, just CREATE a crisis. It's what they do.

Yes I do read up on the subject and forgive me for possession of a working brain, but I've seen no proof or statistics to prove any such thing that the earth is warming up or even if it is, that mankind is causing it. I am reminded of mighty dinosaurs who once tromped the earth only to be destroyed by a gigantic ice age and argue with me that humankind caused this.

Former President Bill Clinton will take any opportunity to bash the United States as, hey, they love the guy everywhere on this planet where people don't behave. Clinton even introduced the Kyoto treaty to the Senate during his term and it was voted down 100 to nothing because even the idiots in our House of Lords knew it was all bogus.

Now we understand that Bill Clinton is again bashing America by participating in some dopey international forum to combat global warming. Bill Clinton knows this has exactly zero traction in the United States.

But hey, a loser has to do SOMETHING to keep himself relevant. Best we remember him for his post-presidency globe-hopping and kowtowing to despots and dictators than his REAL legacy...Monica Lewinsky. Heh.

From FreeRepublic.com:
Former President Bill Clinton and big-city mayors from around the globe have joined in an initiative to combat climate change and increase energy efficiency in everything from street lights to building materials.

The partnership between Clinton and the Large Cities Climate Leadership Group - an alliance of Rome, London, Mexico City, Los Angeles and other big cities that have pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions- was to be formally announced Tuesday afternoon in Los Angeles.

The alliance's aim is to slash the pollutants that contribute to global warming.

The Quana Joke

Surely yon readers have heard about those nasty Israelis who dared to bomb near a building that collapsed onto a bunch of women and children?

It's all a staged joke and it was the Blogosphere that caught the lies.

dead children exploited

Folks, there is so much documentation about this staged event which says as much about the dishonesty of the Lamestream media as just about anything. In this case, the photojournalists were called to action as the Hezzies displayed dead children, the SAME dead children, over and over and over again. In one case a little girl was photographed being loaded into an ambulance early in the day according to the photo timestamp and was photographed being pulled from the rubble later that same day.

It's a convoluted scam but it's a form of warfare used by the terrorists and before it always worked. It's all about You and I folks. They know that with a little help from the lying Lamestream journalist friends they can break the will of the American people. Who don't like to see dead children and might demand that the war stop because of same.

I don't think it's going to work this time.

Also, heh, below a pic of U.N.'s Kofi with the leader of Hezbollah. Just to give an indication of whose side he's really on.

Kofi Anan and Side He Is On

From Eureferendum:
Until recent years, images of civilian casualties in wars often took days to appear in newspapers, but now they can be captured and transmitted around the world to newspaper Web sites, where they are posted immediately, adding to the shock value that sketchy words by reporters often cannot capture. This happened again Sunday morning in the case of the Israeli air strike on the Lebanese village of Qana that left dozens dead, reportedly at least half of them children sleeping in their beds overnight.
