POLITICAL TIDBITS-Hill Brings Out Big Gun Bill; Gore and Airport Security

Some Political Tidibts and there's some cool ones this week.

Hey, you gotta love Ann Coulter who really gets them riled. And Bill comes in on the campaign trail just in time to help Hill.

How about Al Gore and that airport security flap? And McCain's "surprise" announcement on Letterman?

Finally, some great comments on my recent Jimmy Carter rant.

Quote of the Day
Classic Quotes by Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) Italian Astronomer
The Bible shows the way to go to heaven, not the way the heavens go.
--------------------
All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.
--------------------
I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.
--------------------
I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from him.
--------------------
The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do.
--------------------
You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him discover it in himself.
--------------------
They know that it is human nature to take up causes whereby a man may oppress his neighbor, no matter how unjustly... Hence they have had no trouble in finding men who would preach the damnability and heresy of the new doctrine from the very pulpit.
--------------------
If I were again beginning my studies, I would follow the advice of Plato and start with mathematics.
--------------------
I think that in the discussion of natural problems we ought to begin not with the Scriptures, but with experiments, and demonstrations.
--------------------
Doubt is the father of invention.
--------------------
It is surely harmful to souls to make it a heresy to believe what is proved.

Scooter Libby Guilty!

There is only one person to be blamed for this recent travesty of justice known as the Scooter Libby trial. I'm not going to bother with links posted on this Blog re this Fitzgerald trial or post any pics. It's over, the deed is done. A fellow is going to jail for allegedly lying to a Grand Jury and for no crime known to this country.

It's all President Bush's fault and no one else's.

First, Bush didn't have to waffle like a spineless weenie when the Lamestream demanded an investigation into who leaked the name of Valerie "Natasha" Plame as a spy although the woman was not covert or a spy. She was simply a CIA opportunist who got her worthless, lying husband to go to Niger to investigate whether Saddam had been trying to purchase yellowcake uranium for God knows what purpose.

Bush could have held off the baying press hounds from hell for a bit until someone at least found out if a crime had been committed for God's sake. Which one was not. I remember that day when the microphones floated all about the President's face and questions were pelted as to whether an independent council would be appointed. Bush, as is his wont, immediately capitulated and said he would punish anyone in his administration who leaked anything illegal.

Which no one in the administration leaked anything illegal but see, Bush didn't wait. Had he paused enough to ascertain just what crime was broken by this so-called leak Bush would have had an "out" in that, duh, no law was broken.

So okay, this all happened during an election year and perhaps Bush was under pressure and didn't want to look like he was covering up something. So why did he cave and apologize for mentioning Saddam's attempt to obtain yellowcake uranium in the State of the Union address? He buckled under because of Joe Wilson's lying Op-Ed in the NY Times?

Bush was bamboozled, it's a simple thing.

Once Fitzgerald began wasting billions of dollars was there nothing the administration could do to stop the prosecution persecution train? By the time the 2004 elections were over, Bush was still President and he could have, if nothing else, appealed to the American people. We understand silly nonsense like prosecuting for crimes that are not crimes out here in la-la land. You can thank Duke's Nifong for this.

All Bush had to do was ask the American people to help put pressure on congress and the judiciary to end Fitzgerald's investigation, that no crime was committed, that there was great truth to the assertion that Saddam was trying to obtain yellowcake uranium, that Richard Armitage from State was the leaker of Valerie Plame's role in sending Joe Wilson to Nigeria and that she was Joe's wife. Valerie was NOT a covert agent and that fact right there was enough to stop the whole sham.

I don't want to talk about this joke of an investigation and waste of taxpayer's money any more. Somebody needs to tell Chris Matthews and the Dems that the American public could care less about this whole thing, God bless the media which thought it had another Watergate on its radar.

I am a humble American Blogger and there will be no more waste of bandwidth on this joke. Give it time, the truth will come out.

Consider Bush's refusal to end this joke a failure on his part and there's a truth right there.

McCain's Presidential Announcement-So Typical of McCain

One can barely get through the first page of the Washington Post without reading about some party or another either put on or attended, by John McCain, for the media. McCain loves the media and his lovers have served him well.

Sen. John McCain (R., AZ) announced that he will be a candidate for President of the United States in 2008 during tonight’s taping of the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN. The interview was broadcast Wednesday, Feb. 28 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Mccain/presidency and Letterman

For about the only potential voters for John McCain for President would be those media members he's feted and fed. For sure the Conservatives of this country can hardly stomach the man.

So McCain's "surprise" announcement....GASP...that McCain was running for President being announced on the Late Night with Dave Letterman show was hardly a surprise to most of us who read the newspaper or watch the evening news. John McCain's been running for President for about forever and ever amen.

Payback's a bitch McCain. Because your beloved sycophants in the media CAN'T get you elected John McCain. For that you'll need us fools out here in la-la land. We've got long memories McCain and we'll never forget your stupid campaign finance reform joke that has NEVER worked and never will.

Good luck John, but all the luck in the world ain't gonna help. Maybe Tim Russert could form a PAC to help you along?

About My Jimmy Carter Rant....

Do not be fooled yon readers. Jimmy Carter has a legion of folks who must search the Internet regularly, as well as the print media and other Lamestream outlets, for articles about him. I knew as soon as I hit the "POST" button that a Carter flackie would soon be disputing my words. My Blog rant on Carter was a difficult one to argue with, I say so modestly. This is because my own brand of a rant was based on a real life under Carter and that real life was mine.

Nonetheless, a Carter flackie soon enough found my post and you may read it below. This poor Carter paid schlub had only one damn defense and it was that I had never served in the army while he (the Carter defender) HAD. Is this a new rule in this country or something? You got to be in the military before one can describe life under a former president in all its gory truth? Heck, I thought this was why our soldiers died, that humble folks like me should have freedom of speech such as this forum!
Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "POLITICAL TIDBITS-All You Need to Know About Jimmy...":

Your words in this article represent much anger yet they do hold 'some' truth. Your anger is what compromises your integrity however. Regarding Jimmy Carter, yes, he has made mistakes as many other presidents have. But please tell me why you twist some of the truths and fail to mention any of the good things the man has done?

Regarding the enrgy crisis, do you realise that the president has very little to do with the cost of gasoline? That rests on the shoulders of the oil industries, in this case it was OPEC. You have to remember that the oil industry is not nationalized in this country, as Hugo Chavez is attempting to do at this moment. You do realise that we will most likely go to war now with Venezuela because of this? Is more war really worth blasphemising another man because you are too lazy to go ride a bike? If you truly want to blame persidents, then you might as well blame every president since George Washington, who mentioned the following in his outgoing speech.

"Washington warns against foreign influence in domestic affairs and American meddling in European affairs. He warns against bitter partisanship in domestic politics and called for men to move beyond partisanship and serve the common good. He called for an America wholly free of foreign attachments, as the United States must concentrate only on American interests. He counseled friendship and commerce with all nations, but warned against involvement in European wars and entering into long-term alliances. The address quickly set American values regarding religion and foreign affairs, and his advice was often repeated in political discourse well into the twentieth century; not until the 1949 formation of NATO would the United States again sign a treaty of alliance with a foreign nation.[citation needed] Washington strictures against political parties were ignored at the time and ever since."

Our involvement in foriegn affairs is what has truly caused many of our problems today. -Dependence on foriegn oil, -Locked into the UN. -Locked into foriegn aid policies that accounts for much of our national spending (this due primarily to dependence on oil).

Go ride a bike lady. Stop preaching to the choir and instead set an example and go make a difference for yourself. Any fool can complain openly about others, but only truly honorable people take the time to make a difference.

Thank you for your time mam. I do not mean this out of disrespect, but merely to make a point that what you are doing is wrong, regardless of your opinion which is given to you by the men and women that have died to protect our nations honor that no longer exists today because of people like you.

Just FYI. I have served this once great nation and have gone to war for it. Have you?

Fortunately a former military guy caught the error of the ANONYMOUS poster's logic and responded. This poster was NOT anonymous and had the conviction to put his name. Thanks to Randy V. for the defense but more than anything, here on this humble Blog read by about two or three people a day, we blew the Carter defenders outta da water!!! Way to go!

Pat & Kaitlyn too.

First let me qualify myself. I too am a veteran although I've not been in combat. I'm also a father, husband, and grandpa. I'm a midwestern, blue collar, skilled tradesman working in the automotive industry.

I agree with you Pat 110%. What amazes me is that there are so many intelligent and articulate people in this world that fail to see the forest for the trees. The previous commenter is just this type of person.

These people feel that their social status allows them to dictate to me, and others like me, how we should live. First of all I couldn't give less of a damn about their social status and moreover, I'm tired of all of these Jetstream/Limosine Liberals snivveling and crying about how "terrible" the USA is yet this is the land that proffered thier circumstances. They expect us to believe that the pee on our boots is rain because that is precisely what they believe. These sycophants don't have the guts to look at "ALL" of the facts to validate their positions. They simple see the tree and then hug it.

I realise that the President has very little to do with the price of gasoline. It is a FACT. I realised this fact yesterday, and will realise it again tomorrow. That is why I don't go bashing Bush or any other President when I have to pay almost $3.00 for a gallon of gas. A fact is a FACT, whether convenient or not. Much like the Truth.

And...also by Randy V. ....
Randy V. has left a new comment on your post "POLITICAL TIDBITS-All You Need to Know About Jimmy...":

What I really meant to say...

First let me qualify myself. Like the previous commenter, I too am a veteran. I volunteered and served 6 years in the Military. Although I've not been in combat, I don’t despise or deride people who have. Not all people are suited for Military service. I'm also a father, husband, and grandpa. I'm a Midwestern, blue collar, skilled tradesman working in the automotive industry.

I agree with you Pat 110%. Your integrity is uncompromised and intact. When speaking the truth, the passion with which you express yourself only enhances, not compromises the subject. The previous commenter hence referred to as “Lefty”, accuses you of twisting the truth and failing to mention any of the good things Jimmy Carter has done. Well, Lefty, what the hell good has he done? Enumerate for us all, please! And, while you are at it, please support the twisting of the truth comment. What amazes me is that these sycophant drones think that if it sounds good, it must be good. If someone said it, it must be so. Give me a break. Lefty, you fail to see the forest for the trees.

Articulation is not a substitute for intelligence or truth, despite what the mainstream media purports. Being able to articulate a point doesn’t change the verity of the topic. Facts and truths are just that, Facts and Truths. While they are often synonymous, they can’t be mitigated no matter how hard you try. These people feel that their social status allows them special privilege to do just that, mitigate truths and facts. I’m not buying it. Don’t dictate to me, and others like me, how we should live.

First of all, most of us couldn't give less of a damn about “high society’s” social statuses. Moreover, we’re tired of all of these Jetstream/Limosine Liberals sniveling and crying about how "terrible" the Good Old USA is yet, this is the land that has proffered their circumstances. If you don’t like the USA, then LEAVE the USA. The reason they expect us to believe that the piss on our boots is rain is because that is precisely what they believe. These apple polishers don't have the guts to look at "ALL" of the facts to validate their positions. They simply see the tree and then hug it.

Regarding the energy crisis, yes, I realize that the President has very little to do with the price of gasoline. It is a FACT. I realized this fact yesterday, and will realize it again tomorrow. That is why I don't go bashing Bush, or any other President, when I have to pay almost $3.00 for a gallon of gas. A fact is a FACT, whether convenient or not. That’s what’s wrong with society today. If we don’t like the truth, we mitigate it. When that doesn’t work, we legislate it and then litigate it. The inconvenience in Al Gore’s truth is that it is ALL mitigated facts. It is nothing more than a collection of speculations. It is cinematographic conjecture. At best it is a vengeful vitriolic fairy tale. That’s Gore’s Inconvenient Truth. I don’t want to hear that it is based on the research of a consensus of scientists either. After all, a consensus of scientist once thought the world was flat. They also thought that the earth was the center of the Universe. We have since learned that to Anna Nicole Smith and Britney Spears are the centers of the Universe. If you don’t believe me, ask MSNBC or CNN. And for the record, in a capitalist economy, supply and demand ultimately dictate the price of products, not the manufacturers. If the tree hugging water boys would allow us to harvest our OWN oil, we would be less dependent on OPEC and they would LOWER their prices to keep our business. But hey, those are just the facts.

Lefty also claims that our involvement in “foreign affairs” is what causes many of our nation’s problems. Well... Enumerate please! Reality is that our current affairs in foreign lands are a direct result of foreign lands sticking their nose into our current affairs. Let me throw a few other facts at you. 1. I hate war as much as anyone. 2. Cowardice and suck-butt foreign policy by previous Presidential administrations has left our country vulnerable and a target to those that covet our glory and crave our demise. This aggression MUST be addressed. I would rather we dig up their back yard than our own.

Make no mistake about it folks. Whether Lefty meant to disrespect or not, he certainly did. And his point, well, I’m sure his hat will hide it. As for opinions, they are not given, they are formed, and the free expression of those opinions is what is protected by our nation’s men and women as they defend our constitution, our country, and our way of life. That is Honor. Disregard Lefty’s juvenile finger waving tirade and remember, in life we have to keep the faith, keep score, and keep on keeping on! You have a loyal and patriotic Grandmother Kaitlyn!

Just FYI. I hope that Lefty remembers what rock he was hiding behind when he served this ALWAYS great nation and went to war for it because he left his honor, pride, fidelity, and loyalty to our nation behind that rock when he came home.

John Edwards and His Hair

Heh, my fave Annie Coulter got involved in a flap last week for calling Johnnie a "Faggot". Before you read my thoughts on this funny flap, below, click on the video below and check out Johnnie as he combs that golden mane of his.

Keep a Close Eye on this Minnesota Elected "Terrorist"

Goodness knows Ed Morrissey of "Captain's Quarters" had been complaining about Keith Ellison, recently elected to congress from Minnesota's Fifth congressional district. Morrissey writes from Minnesota but alas, Ellison was elected by his Muslim constituency anyway.

Hey, all Americans have a right to be represented. Ellison was legally elected by folks, this guy's got a murky background and his affiliation with terror-financing organizations is lengthy.

Now that Ellison's elected, he begins to do what Muslims across the planet are famous for: he shuts up the critics.

Indeed a police lieutenant dared to make some statement about Ellison, goodness knows what but does it matter? The slur, as it is alleged, was made by a Lt. Bob Kroll and his comments re Ellison allegedly hinted at Ellison's terrorist ties. Seems Ellison's office got a hold of the Minneapolis Mayor who got a hold of the police chief and hey, not only does Lt. Bob Kroll need to shut up, so does the ENTIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT!

From the Star Tribune:
A Minneapolis police lieutenant faces an internal investigation into recent comments that fellow officers say implied that U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison is a terrorist.

It's how these Islamofacists do, folks. They shut up the population no matter what it takes. Don't police officers have freedom of speech just like the rest of us? What's that?

Yeah, right. NOBODY can say anything bad about Ellison. We're working under Islamofacist law now.

Al Gore and the Airport Security Bother

Folks we'll probably never know what really happened at Nashville airport when Al Gore and his "entourage" were detoured around the normal security checkpoints by an American Airlines employee. First, did the airline employee volunteer to take Gore's party around the security checkpoints or did Al Gore ASK for a waiver of the bother?

From NewsChannel5.com:
Former vice president Al Gore was involved in a security breach at the Nashville Airport when an American Airlines employee led him and his entourage around security, a clear violation of policy.

When another airline employee saw what was going down, the employee quickly sent the Gore party back to be cleared through normal security clearance procedures. Al Gore denied asking for any special waivers and happily returned to the security checkpoint to be cleared like everyone else.

That Clinton administration is well-known for believing that God Himself gave them special rights at birth so I'm suspicious that the first American Airlines employee just, boom, willy nilly decided to pass Gore et al around the security check all on his or her own. I believe that Gore himself asked for this and once caught, Gore smiled widely and denied he had even asked. I have no proof of my suspicion so take it for what it's worth. I remember Cynthia McKinney, another Democrat who resented such as security checks.

At any rate, consider this....think of all the entrenched politicos you know in this country. I am talking politicians with an access to pretty much everything, a politician who once held a national post. Consider which one YOU would choose to cultivate for a terror attack that would be most sucessful if helped along by a former, bitter VP who lost a close election to the current despised President.

I'd pick Al Gore to carry that detonator into the congress, White House, airplane, wherever...is what I'm saying here.

Which is why EVERYONE must pass clearance before going on a plane. And if that American Airlines employee did take it upon his or her self to allow Gore, or ANYONE for that matter, around the security, than that employee should be fired immediately.

Maher, Coulter and School Yard Taunts

My first reaction when I heard the Ann Coulter comment about John Edwards was, like many conservatives, a bit of shock. I wasn't so much upset by her use of the word "Faggot", a word that has always meant in my world, a homosexual man. No, it's not such a nice word but hardly anything to faint over, get a grip. My bigger shock was Ann calling John Edwards what I thought to be a homosexual and all I could think was "who knew?"? Well John Edwards is NOT a homosexual, or if he is he does a good job of hiding it. I kind of doubt a fellow could make it to a VP candidate on a major party ticket without anyone having a clue if he was a homosexual. Sure, there's nothing wrong with that, as Seinfeld would say, but for sure we'd know it.

Bill Maher

Ann later said she was throwing Edwards a schoolyard taunt so okay, I like schoolyard taunts. So far as I'm concerned Ann can call anyone she wants a faggot and no, she shouldn't have to go into therapy. I'd suggest being a bit careful with that taunt because it confuses us minions out here in la-la land. For a couple of days after the story hit, I wondered how John Edwards managed to hide his sexuality so well.

Also, click on that video above and , heh, tell me that man isn't a bit of a girly-man.

We go on to Bill Maher's comment that Dick Cheney surviving an assination attempt might have cost even more people THEIR lives. No wait! Shut the hell up Pat, right now. Because Bill Maher did NOT call Dick Cheney a faggot, just wished him dead. Ann Coulter committed the bigger crime here.

Coulter/Edwards

HISTORIC 22-CITY CARAVAN TO SUPPORT TROOPS

IN IRAQ & AFGHANISTAN

National Caravan Coincides with 4th Anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom
From California to Washington, D.C. March 8th – March 17th

With the 4-year anniversary of the commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom this March, anti-war advocates had been hoping to use the occasion to rally their supporters to the streets.

Instead, it will be pro-troop supporters who plan to put on a massive display – creating a historic caravan of vehicles that will cross the entire country from San Francisco, California all the way to Washington, D.C.

The caravan is called: “These Colors Don’t Run” and is being organized by the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, Move America Forward (www.MoveAmericaForward.org). The patriotic and pro-troop caravan will stop at 22 cities across the country, conducting pro-troop rallies at each stop. At the rallies, Move America Forward will collect American flags from attendees – the flags will be brought to the final rally location on Capitol Mall in Washington, D.C. where they will be erected into a powerful and patriotic “Flag City” display. The Washington, D.C. event is being held in support of the "Gathering of Eagles" rally on March 17th being organized by veterans.

At the conclusion of the rally each flag will be sent to a U.S. Service member stationed in either Iraq or Afghanistan along with a placard showing who donated the flag, and how it flew in a patriotic show of support for our troops and their missions in the war on terrorism.

The public is invited to join the "These Colors Don't Run" caravan with their own vehicles, decorating them with red, white and blue patriotic flair.

“We’ve had enough of the negativity and backstabbing of our troops. They need our support, and more importantly they deserve our unqualified backing,” said Melanie Morgan, Chairman of Move America Forward.

“This historic caravan will cascade across this nation with a wave of patriotism, driven by a positive message celebration our nation’s foundations of freedom and liberty that our troops help to preserve,” said Morgan.

“How can we hope to win a war when some in this country are actively working to defeat the mission?” Morgan asked.

Cities where the caravan will make pro-troop rally stops (and where new supporters can join the caravan or just bring an American Flag for our troops) include: San Francisco, CA; Lafayette, CA; Vacaville, CA; Sacramento, CA; Stockton, CA; Fresno, CA; Bakersfield, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Palm Springs, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Tucson, AZ; El Paso, TX; Midland/Odessa, TX; Dallas, TX; Little Rock, AR; Memphis, TN; Atlanta, GA; Columbia SC; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Richmond, VA; Washington, DC.

The caravan will include spokespersons whose lives have been deeply touched by the war: Gold Star Mother Debra Argel Bastian lost her son, Derek in Operation Iraqi Freedom; Gold Star Father Joseph Williams lost his son Michael in Operation Iraqi Freedom; Marine Mom Deborah Johns, whose son, William, is currently serving his third tour of duty in Iraq; and Operation Iraqi Freedom & Operation Enduring Freedom veteran, Marine Reservist John Ubaldi.

Other military families, Gold Star Families and veterans will help the caravan at rally stops along the way. A small sampling of those involved in the effort are: Gold Star Father Mark Crowley in the San Francisco Bay Area, Gold Star Father John Holley in Southern California, Gold Star Mother in Tucson, AZ, Gold Star Parents David & Deborah Tainsh in central Georgia, Gold Star Parents Joe & Jan Johnson in Northern Georgia; Gold Star Mother Merrilee Carlson of Minnesota (traveling to join the caravan); and Operation Iraqi Freedom & Operation Enduring Freedom veteran, Eric Egland in Washington, D.C.

A copy of the caravan’s route and itinerary can be found online at the Move America Forward website: HERE
