Subjects of week: Jeb Bush and Hillary, ISIS, vaccines
and too little of my favorite subject of the week-that Liar Brian Williams.
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Retired
neurosurgeon Ben Carson, a potential 2016 Republican presidential
candidate. General Flynn revolutionized
how military uses intelligence?
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Secretary of State John
Kerry; Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Rep. Michael McCaul,
R-Texas; Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of National Institute of Allergy and
Infectious Diseases.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Retired Gen. John Allen,
President Barack Obama's special envoy for the coalition opposing the Islamic
State group; Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas; former Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., and his
wife, Karen.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Cruz; Homeland
Security Secretary Jeh Johnson; Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va.; Rep. Tulsi Gabbard,
D-Hawaii; former Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich.
Some
surprises this week as an avowed Communist delivers an amazingly accurate insight into the upcoming Republican
primaries.
The
Political Talk Show Host gaffe of the week came from a long time Clinton
supporter while the best political talk show GUEST this week is little known
but the most insightful.
And
of course there is mine own favorite story of this past week, too little
discussed on this week's political talk shows so we shall start with it.
I
write of the very honest Brian Williams, anchor of NBC nightly news who turned
out to be quite the liar.
NO
WAIT!
He
"misremembered" some stuff.
Like a puppy, or was it two puppies?-he rescued as an adolescent
volunteer fire fighter? Or how about the
dead body that floated by his hotel window in flood waters that investigation
reveals were nowhere near the place?
The
biggest misrememberance of all, of course, is the helicopter he'd been in
during his coverage of the Iraq war.
Williams just misremembered that this helicopter was under fire from
below and come on folks, this is not something one forgets.
As
of this writing Brian Williams has decided to step down from his anchor
position, hoping, I guess, that the storm will blow over and Dan Rather's fine
defense will help make lying okay but only for certain people.
The
Williams' story was discussed a bit on Meet the Press as this show is broadcast
on NBC. MTP host Chuck Todd stated, with
sadness in his voice, that news hosts do not like it when THEY become part of
the story.
Heh.
Come
on. Brian Williams LOVED being part of
the story! Goodness he inserted himself
into every story he possibly could, be it helicopters under fire, puppies in
danger or mythical floating bodies.
He
obviously wanted to be part of the
story, Todd. Quit treating us like we
were all born at night out here in la-la land….LAST NIGHT!
The
best and most informative guest of this talk show Sunday was Lt. General
Michael Flynn, former Defense Intel Director.
He was on Fox News Sundays and his comments were quite intelligent. But before, I am reminded….WHERE THE HELL WAS
THE DEFENSE SECRETARY???
Flynn
described ISIS as a "pack of wolves" near the dogsled, but there are
more packs of wolves elsewhere. Flynn
pointed out that once ISIS was just dots on a big map, now it covers all the
way from Pakistan to North Africa.
Host
Chris Wallace mentioned a "turning point". Flyn said we should stop using terms such
terms and come to grips with this cancerous ideology of radical Islam which is
breaking down Arab World Order.
Flynn
gave quite a few interesting stats about ISIS and again, why wasn't our Defense
Secretary giving us this information?
I
mean really people, those Arab countries…don't they have police, some sort of
law and order? Flynn suggested a sort of
Arab Nato that would have all the Arab nations helping out any one under
attack.
Good
idea but no way could this administration lead such a thing.
On
CNN's "State of the Union" we had Homeland Security Secretary Jeh
Johnson doing a pretty good job of describing the problems with figuring out
who are the good guys fighting ISIS and who are the bad guys.
An
example given was a group of good fighters who managed to drive ISIS out of
certain parts of Syria. Except these
same fighters are believed to have murdered many Sunni Muslims in cold blood
and then there is that insane constant rivalry between Sunnis and Shias
Dealing
with this assembly of thugs, thieves, losers and a few dedicated fighters is
going to require thinking outside the box….like maybe an Arab NATO.
My
hero Ted Cruz was interviewed by "This Week's" George Stephanopoulos
and ole Clinton-lover George dished up some snark.
So Stephanopoulis
asks Ted Cruz about the economy and Cruz gives a good answer...something about
how work force participation is at an all time low with this administration AND
that the fat cats in power have gotten rich....very true assertions God bless
Ted Cruz.
"Sounds like
you have your stump speech down," Stephanopoulos said in response.
How dare someone
come out and dispute the administration's narrative?
It
was on This Week that asserted Communist Van Jones gave a great wrap-up of the
upcoming Republican primaries. Jones
mentioned Jeb Bush, en elite favorite, two upcoming latinos-Rubio and Cruz, an
Asian-Bobby Jindal, a woman-Carly Fiorina and a black Ben Carson.
"All
those folks of note up against the Democrats one and only Hillary
Clinton," Jones concluded with a cluck of the tongue.
I
mean, when you think about it, he sure has a point.
It
was a good week on the Sunday political talk show rounds. Soon Brian
Williams will have his own Sunday political talk show called "World
Events I was a part of."

I do not respond to comments on my posts. I certainly have no
problem with such commentary and, indeed, encourage it. But I’ve written my
piece and I don’t want to argue it further.

NEXT : The Sussex county GOP meeting tomorrow night. I will be there and I shall report. It's the new Chairman's first night and the
guy refuses to talk to me.
