As of this writing there are two Golden Bachelorettes all waiting for Gerry Turner to choose them.  Theresa is a financial services professional from Shrewsbury, New Jersey and Leslie is a fitness instructor from Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Golden Bachelor is a 71 retiree from Indiana.

If convenience of locale was a factor, Leslie would have an edge.  She is from Minnesota with Gerry nearby in Indiana.

Leslie is 64 and Theresa is 70.

We won’t know until after Thanksgiving who Gerry chooses.  Let us wish him well.

The final episode of "The Golden Bachelor" is on at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, on ABC.

The Israel/Hamas conflict.

Like so many of yon readers, I watch the wars in the Gaza strip and the protests and marches all over the world, some for the Palestinians and some for the Israelis.  And I am confused by so many people,. especially college-age youth, who don’t see what is so obvious.

Israel was attacked!  Maybe a people who needed to watch out for themselves more but the Israelis  living in the Gaza strip, and/or nearby, were often killed in their own homes, tortured for the public or taken hostages.

The common sense rule of thumb is that when one is attacked they can fight back.  Israel is fighting back and intends to defeat Hamas.

One thing that bothers me of late what with all these battles going on is how the Catholic church says nothing about it.

Understand that I am using the homilies of my parish priests for the most part but there’s the weekly newsletter, the monthly Diocese newspaper…TV…et al.  There’s no mention of the Israelis and/or the Palestinians.

Why is this?  Does the Catholic church want the Muslims to take over the Mideast?

And still I am puzzled.

Amazing Race

The same two brothers who won last week came in first this week.  The two sisters on the other hand, well they weren’t too smart.  One challenge the contenders had was to arrange puzzle parts of a sort.  The sister arranging the puzzle pieces says she got confused by the “9’s” and the “6’s”.  She was told from the start that the 6’s had a line under them and the 9’s did not.  Also she mistook a one for a seven, sounds pretty dumb to me.  The sisters went home this past week.

The father/daughter fought most of the way but they didn’t come in last like they thought they would.

This is one of the best reality shows out there.

The Longest Trip Begins With…..

We end this week’s brain thoughts.

The saying is “the longest trip in the world begins with one small step”.  I found this cartoon/meme on the Internet, of course.  Because sure, a long trip begins with one step but note the step pictured in the meme.  It’s a rough start.

And so I begin a long trip of writing my autobiography for my descendants to read.
