9/4/21-Happy Labor Day Said Ida! Smiles, giggles and The Fly on the Wall

Daily Miscellany

Thoughts and flashes of brilliance that enter my head from nowhere.

Enjoy.  Or abhor, depending on the effect of my "wisdom".

Happy Labor Day!

Labor Day is like New Year's to me.  First, I live near the ocean and Labor Day is symbolically the end of summer thus the tourists go home.

Second, Autumn is one of the prettiest season of all in my book.

Finally, when the Democrats were really for the working man and not the communists, I was a union person and Labor Day was our holiday.

So have a good one and most important, don't do anything I would not do.

Afghanistan

There is not much I could add to all the coverage of that mess in Afghanistan beyond what has been covered everywhere.

What I would suggest is to remember Vietnam.  Remember Afghanistan.  Do not allow the politicians to run or conduct a war.  Both of the above wars lasted way longer than made sense and too many of America's young men died in the process.

Politicians tend to think they get peace by giving money rather than slap the bad guys around then stay as long as it takes for them to act like humans.

We did that in Japan.  We did that in Germany.

We dropped some big bombs on them then made them behave.

South Korea, Germany and Japan turned into prosperous and democratic countries.

The politicians bribed the North Vietnamese and goodness, the Taliban.  We lost both of these wars.

Learn from your mistakes is the mantra.

And keep politicians out of planning wars.

Ed Asner Dies

He was also active in a variety of other causes, such as the movement to free Mumia Abu-Jamal and the movement to establish California One Care, single-payer health care in California, for which he created a television advertisement. He endorsed Barack Obama during the 2008 United States presidential election. He was formerly a member of the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee (DSOC)[48] and was a member of DSOC's successor, the Democratic Socialists of America.[1]

I do not like Ed Asner but may he rest in peace.

The Democratic Socialists of America?  Are those the Democrats trying desperately to turn our nation over to the Communists?

I say again, may you rest in peace Ed Asner but finally you rest.  One less Democratic Socialist cannot be a bad thing.

IDA

Ida was quite the memorable hurricane.  First, it came on the anniversary of Katrina, some 15 years prior and was not near as powerful as Ida.

To add to the torment, Ida took a path beyond the Louisiana barrier and barreled up mid-country to hit the Mid-Atlantic, Pennsylvania, onward to the New England states.

For one hurricane to travel that far is unusual.  Hurricanes are known to travel that far from time to time, but they fade quickly going over land and by the time one travels across the country it's mostly windy and a bit of rain.

But Ida was a beast.  As of this writing there are over 20 people known dead, in the mid-Atlantic...by Ida.  It was mostly the rain which killed people, to include a state trooper who got caught in a flood in his cop car.  And, to be clear, it was mostly areas near water, to include mine own beloved Chesapeake Bay which flooded Annapolis.

Ida came along right when Afghanistan was occupying the news and such a terrible storm was almost ignored until America learned the damage that storm would do.

It's a mess but we shall get through it.

THE FLY ON THE WALL

Yes I am a fly and yes I also Blog.  I tend to wander around among the politicians and hear their conversation.  Because I am a fly beneficial to humanity, I share that which I hear. Bear in mind my spelling.  I am, after all, only a fly.

Cleaning up the Afghan War for the Public

I had been hearing a lot about the American war in Afghanistan, as have most humans I suppose.  There are plenty of flies in Afghanistan so via Fly social media, we tend to find out what is humanly going on.

I knew there was a meeting scheduled about the public relations aspect of the war in Afghanistan so I attended.  To my dismay they were serving no snacks, just coffee, which this fly does not care for.

There were about eight people in the room, including two soldiers and some media people from CNN I believe.

"There are leakers everywhere," one guy began by shouting the prior.  One attendee spilled a bit of coffee on himself from the startle.

"It got out about the suicide bomber almost getting killed and it got out about the phone call.  There were only a few people in on those two very damaging bits of information so we figured out who you are," the guy continued.  I don't know who this guy was but he appeared like a human Secretary of some bureaucracy that I've seen on TV before.

"Biden made the final decision on both of these matters!" one of the soldiers stood up and shouted.  "He is the one going to bear the bad public relations of bad decisions in battle!"

For a couple of seconds the whole room was silent.

I'd been hearing about the bad job the current human president did in making battle decisions for the military but this is the first time I actually heard one of the army leaders say so, and in such anger.

"HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!" the Secretary said.  "We don't tell things he's said to make him look bad.  Cause if looks bad, all of America looks bad!"

Suddenly both of the military guys got up and slammed out of the room.

All of the other attendees began gathering their coffee cups and personal belongings and also left the room.  This fly figured the hell with it.  No crumbs and all humans leaving.

I know many human Americans don't much like Biden.

This fly asks....why in the hell did they elect the guy?

It's the Fly on the Wall here, tuning out.
