TV This Week: Yes, It's Called "Men With Breasts"

The TV is mostly background noise to Grandmother but at times there may be a show actually worth attention.

Last week we featured a blurb about an advertised Dateline show that had a segment titled “Women and Sexuality”. Well we watched that show and saw no such feature. Maybe it went the route of “Saving Private Ryan”?

Sounds Quirky Enough to be Worth a Look

Monday, Nov. 22, at 10:00 pm, The Learning Channel is featuring a show, I swear I’m not making this up: “Men With Breasts”. With a title like that, how can one not watch it?

On Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 9:00 pm, Lifetime is featuring one of their “based on real crimes” stories. The movie is titled “Twisted Desire” and is the story of a teenaged girl who convinces her boyfriend to murder her parents.

On the night before Thanksgiving, before the turkey and guest rush, relax and enjoy some musical shows. On Weds., Nov. 24, at 8:00 pm, NBC will have an hour long song fest by Tim McGraw. A nice sort of all-American hour the night before an all-American holiday by an All-American guy.

For those a bit more of the hippity hop variety, that same night, at 9:00 pm, Fox will feature and hour of Christmas songs by singers from that network’s famous series “The American Idol”. Fox gets more mileage out of its American Idol money. Okay, sarcasm off, it seems a nice enough time to officially kick off the Christmas season via song.

On Thanksgiving day, Nov. 25, at 10:00 pm, NBC is featuring a “look back at” type of show. This time it’s the Seinfeld series. As I see it, when full of turkey and the crowds are gone, this might be just the ticket for a few laughs and memories.

Big TV Event of the Week

At least as I see it, ABC’s 20/20 show on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10:00 pm, has the most intriguing promo blurb. This show is supposed to offer new insights into the Matthew Shepherd murder. According to the nuance, there’s evidence that this murder wasn’t the gay hate crime as was the hype of the day.

Remember hate crimes, ladies and germs? Another liberal concoction, the fact that death is somehow worse when administered because of hate as opposed to, say armed robbery. Because dead is dead and to try and ascertain the emotional motive in order to determine punishment, well wasn’t this the dumbest liberal idea ever? Ever since September 11, when this country was exposed to REAL hate crimes, you don’t hear much about it anymore.

Anyway, this Matthew Shepherd crime, when a Gay man was murdered allegedly because of his sexuality, was the benchmark for that piece of liberal nonsense. And now we are to understand that Matthew wasn’t murdered because he was Gay? But for some other reason?

Gotta check it out.
