Thoughts-Georgetown Del Tea Party; Amer Idol-Movie Night; Dance/Stars-Finally, He's Gone!

We've got video and pic montages of the Georgetown Delaware tea party on 4/15/09, which I attended.

Also, a rant and bad guy of the week, only she's a woman and she's the reason I will never trust Barack Obama again.

A quip of the week from granddaughter, lots of smiles and sarcasm from last week's tea parties and yes, we have a Good Guy of the Week as well.
==============
It was "Movie" night on American Idol 09 and the mentor was most unusual, yes he was.

The judges saved the contender voted off and thank God politicians don't have this option. For who they saved could never win unless at least four other contenders suddenly die.

And could Simon be, as he is often accused, trying to influence the outcome of this thing?

All with pics and video you'll find nowhere else on the Internet.
=============

He studied how to be a clown at clown school. He farted regularly during rehearsal. He got a point total of FOUR, the lowest ever given by a judge on Dancing With the Stars.

He stayed way longer than he should have.

Also, the dark horse in this 2009 competition and a guess at the winners as we review Rumba/Jive night on Dancing With the Stars 2009.

All with pics and video you'll find nowhere else on the Internet.

Tea Parties Erupt Across the Fruited Plains

It was not a Republican thing. It was not a Democrat thing.

It was a populace thing, an action orchestrated by virtue of the Internet and fueled by anger of citizens who felt the congress critters didn’t listen to a word we say.

They passed a godawful “stimulus” package and didn’t even READ THE DAMN THING! Then we hear that millions are allocated to study why pig shit stinks, thousands given to remove tattoos from criminals in California, billions to implement a socialist health care plan without bother of debate or input from the citizenry or our elected officials.

They don’t care about us, we who carry this country on our backs while raising the citizens and soldiers of tomorrow. One might argue that the majority of tea party attendees were of a Republican bent and I’d agree to oh…maybe 75-80% were Republicans.

Which is not to say we like the Republican party or in any way approve of where the Republican party is at now. The pubbies have long ago abandoned any conservative, fiscally sane posture and most are now Democrats Light. In fact, few or no Republican elected officials were allowed to speak at tea parties. This wasn’t about the very ones who are cavalierly spending our children’s and grandchildren’s future.

I attended a tea party in Georgetown, Delaware, held on what had to be the worst weather possible for such an event. My sign below.

Below, I prepared well for the event.

A pic montage below from the Georgetown Delaware tea party with a crowd estimated at around 300 people. Not bad for a small town and in terrible weather.

I couldn’t resist including some fine tax quotes as appropriate to the protest, below.

CNN sent a broadcast babe who acted like a total asshole. MSNBC did their fine and impartial coverage, including excellent commentary by Jeanine Garofalo, expert pundit, world-renown political commentator, raconteur exceeded by none. She said all the folks at the tea parties hated that a black man was now president.

Keith Olberman nodded his head in agreement like one of those bobble dolls in the back windshield.

Heh.

For all the scorn of the other networks, below how it all came down in terms of ratings.

Janet Napolatano
BADGUY HEADER

Janet Napolitan

“If you want to put it that way,” Department of Homeland Security responded to a question by a Fox News Reporter’s query as to whether she signed off on that honest-American-bashing report released by DHS 4-7-09.

Okay. I got a clarification query for dear Janet…WHAT THE HELL WOULD YOU CALL IT?

You are the head of the Department of Homeland Security are you not, sweet lady? Do your underlings regularly release reports without your knowledge? If not, THEN YOU SIGNED OFF ON IT JANET! It ain’t rocket science.

I will never, not ever and not never, forgive Barack Obama for what he did to me. Because yes he did it to me and I take it very personal. That man will never be my president besides in the most elementary and ceremonial sense of the word.

He used my tax dollars and a government agency formed to protect this country from danger without and within and used it as a political tool to cast aspersions on attendees of the tea parties scheduled across the nation on 4/15/09.

Oh yes Obama did and don’t tell me not. And someone tell that Garafolo character that I’d feel that way if Barack was lily white.

For that report cast damning aspersons on returning vets, folks who are against abortion and IMMIGRATION (NOTE they report did not say ILLEGAL immigration, a pretty important adjective right there, you think?), those who own guns. There was a sling in that report that would apply to everyone who attended a tea party and pretty much most of the country but that wasn’t the intent.

A few Republicans are calling for Napolatano’s resignation and we shall see where this goes. For there was absolutely no justification for releasing this report save getting the words “Timothy McVeigh” and “Right-Wing” in the same sentence.

Obama, who is so damn full of his own self-important Messiah self, so hates those who disagree with He who knows how to rob the treasury while calling it a stimulus, that he had to use a government agency to attack the good and peaceful who gathered across this FREE country to protest the out of control government spending.

The pubbies are all in the tanning booths, they must have fingernails polished, hairs pasted on their heads to their appointed places, friends across the aisle and, of course, invites to all the happening DC cocktail parties. Will they defend what are largely their very innocent constituents?

Napolatano just followed the orders of the boss. She’s a loser of the highest order. I don’t know how she can sleep at night.

Janet my dear, we’re watching you. Toot de sweet we can ramp up a nationwide protest against YOU, you hateful witch.

A “Very Important Person”

QUIP header

If Janet Napolatano thinks I am a terrorist, at least my own granddaughter considers me a very important person. For when Kaitlyn’s mother was putting away a scarf and poncho that I’d crocheted her, Kaitlyn shouted out…”Don’t lose that,” she said to her mother. “It was made by a Very Important Person”.

Heh. Who would be me.

Pic of Kaitlyn wearing my creations below. She’s the reason I marched on tea party day-4/15/09. She should not have to carry the burden of Barack Obama’s spending.

Well yeah. But Richard Phillips is a hero too and America will always think of him that way, especially his ship mates on the Maersk Alabama.

Subject: Fw: Medicine Around the World

An Israeli doctor says 'Medicine in my country is so advanced that we can take a kidney out of one man, put it in another, and have him looking for work in six weeks.'

A German doctor says 'That is nothing; we can take a lung out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in four weeks.'

A Russian doctor says 'In my country, medicine is so advanced that we can take half a heart out of one person, put it in another, and have them both looking for work in two weeks.'

The Illinois doctor, not to be outdone, says 'You guys are way behind, we recently took a man with no brains out of Illinois, put him in the White House for two months, and now half the WORLD is looking for work.'

Finally, the Worst Dancer of All Sent Home

It was Jive and Rumba night on 4/13.09 when the top eight dancers took to the floor in what is now a narrowing down of the contenders likely to win this thing on “Dancing With the Stars” 2009.

It’s entirely possible at this time to see who’s going to be the one to beat and who’s likely to beat him or her.

Ty Murray began the night with a Jive. Let us all agree right now that Ty, a cute fellow married to country singer Jewel, is not likely to win this thing unless about five to six other contenders suddenly drop dead.

Ty was wooden, as is often the case, but I thought he gave the best leg movement I’ve seen him give in a while. He seemed much more relaxed during this performance. I surely thought Ty deserved a “7” from one or two of the judges, who all gave him a “6” for a total of 18 points out of 30.

Shawn Johnson, whose been having stalker problems of late I hear, performed a Rumba. I didn’t much like the choreography of the performance but this is not to say that Shawn didn’t look lovely and perform her part quite wll.

The judges gave Shawn a total of 26 points for the performance and that seemed a fair amount.

Lawrence Taylor, who looked very handsome in his fine-fitting suit, performed a Jive. For a big fellow Taylor was fleet of foot as he jived around the dance floor.

Taylor would be the sort of fellow that I’d love to dance with at a wedding. He’s big, yes, imposing. But he certainly looks happy to dance and he’d probably dance better than drunken Uncle Al.

Taylor got a total of 22 points, his highest score to date.

DWS4.13.09montage

Melissa Rycroft is definitely a contender to win this thing, at the least she’ll likely be in the top three. Melissa danced a Rumba and some of those dips were downright scary.

I thought Melissa looked pretty and sexy at the same time.

The judges gave Melissa a total of 27 points, a fair score I thought.

And coming up from the rear, we have Lil Kim! I have right along thought Lil Kim was a contender. She has the body of a dancer, the verve, the charisma, the personality and the movement.

Lil Kim had been consistently behind both Shawn Johnson and Melissa Rycroft since this year’s contest began. It evidently took Kim a few shows to get on her groove. On this Rumba/Jive night, Lil Kim and her partner did a Jive and by me it was the best performance of the night. In fact by the judges is what the best dance of the night. Lil Kim received two “10’s” and an “8” from curmudgeon judge Len, who was especially grouchy this night.

Len said that Lil Kim’s dance was too “theatrical”. It was great.

4.13.09dwsmontage1

Steve-O comes up and this week the judges weren’t fooling around. Steve-O and Lacey danced a Rumba and goodness Lacey pranced around in lingerie!

Len, a grouch as always, gave Steve-O only a “4” for his performance and goodness I don’t ever remember a dancer getting a four…ever. The total points awarded to Steve-O and his partner were 16.

Steve-O was sent home on elimination night and it was time. I did enjoy Steve-O and his antics although I could have done without that bit about farting during rehearsal.

Ah, our favorite sex symbol, Gilles Marini, danced a Jive.

In an upset, Gilles was not the high-scorer of the night. In fact, Marini fell behind both high-scorer Lil Kim AND Melissa Rycroft.

Len, who had few good things to say about anyone this night, said Gille’s performance looked “frantic”.

While Gilles always entertains with his fine footwork, the Jive was definitely not his vibe. Marini did, however, receive 26 points out of 30-a not unhonorable score.

Finally Chuck Wicks danced a Rumba with his sweetie Julianne Hough. Wicks seems to be the proverbial mediocre dancer. You’d think he’d be way in front what with being engaged to a professional dancer.

He’s not bad on the dance floor. Likely he’d be horrible were it not for fiancĂ© Hough to teach him all hours of the day and night. He’s a handsome fellow. He will not win this competition and it’s just as well. It would just muddy the waters for the fiancĂ© of one of the professional dancers to walk away with the prize.

Chuck and Julianne received 23 points for their performance.

I think Gilles Marini will win this thing with Melissa likely to come in second but Lil Kim will be a dark horse.

=====================
Simon Tries to Steer the Public Vote

First, Simon appeared to have some sort of agenda on the American Idol competition night, 4/14/09. It was “movie night” on the series and the mentor was, oddly, Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino is NOT a singer although he’s a noted Director.

I’m not at all sure how a movie director is supposed to help singers save, what? Dressing appropriately in the costume for the song chosen?

Obviously this was a way to get Tarantino some exposure and by association, his movies.

Miley Cyrus sang a tune on the elimination night and I was quite impressed with her vocal talent. Here was a child who has shown me pretty much nothing in that she’s the daughter of a country-star, sort of ordinary looking, and she’s been belted to a fame and fortune I didn’t see her as deserving.

But her song was very pretty and I was entertained.

Finally, Simon Cowell and his alleged agenda, something he’s been accused of oten in the past…

I would pooh-pooh that sort of talk but as this year’s contest narrows down with an eye to a winner, I can see Simon trying to influence the outcome.

Never discount the opinions of the judges. Various reality shows use judges, often in different ways. “Dancing With the Stars” has the judges awarding actual points. That competition is, of course, a dancing contest. Viewers at home are likely not up to snuff on the proper steps of the Rumba and might think the Lindy Hop and Jive to be the same dance. The scores of the judges weigh heavily in this contest.

For a singing contest, viewers mostly all have ears and they know what they like. But given all things being equal, I suspect the summary of the judges is weighed in an American Idol viewer’s mind comes the time to cast a telephonic vote.

Simon has done nothing but excoriate Lil Rounds these past few weeks and this past week, Lil got angry.

For Lil took the song “The Rose”, one of my favorite all time tunes, by the way, and wrapped her entire self and song style into that song. Please note that I did not like Lil’s version of that song but I certainly heard Lil Rounds coming out loud and clear.

By me, this was one of Lil’s best performances of the past five weeks as I too have complained about Lil’s song choices and their lack of individuality. No one listening to Lil’s version of “The Rose” could, believably, accuse her of not infusing herself and her song style into that tune.

I have right from the start been impressed by Lil, her voice, her look, her stage presence and her personality. I believed that she had a real shot at winning.

Only Lil just wasn’t quite there. Her voice wasn’t as strong as I’d thought and her song choices did not help any. Her song genre is of a gospel bent and hey, there’s not a thing wrong with that. In fact, I predict right now that Lil will likely churn out some gospel albums as a result of her exposure on American Idol and she will be very successful at it. Gospel singers are not necessarily the stuff of American Idol champs. Fantasia was a gospel singer, I understand, but Fantasia had a stronger voice than Lil and she transcended song genres quite well.

I have a snippet of Lil’s performance on my video remix below for those who might have missed it.

It seemed like overkill for Simon to go after Lil Rounds yet again on Movie night, American Idol 2009, 4/14/09. If The Wise I, with my very generic knowledge of music, figured that Lil was NOT another Fantasia, it seems to me Simon should have figured it out as well. The beatings needed to stop and Simon wanted them to continue.

Lil was in the bottom three for movie night and this was no surprise to me but with Simon’s “help” it was almost a given.

I would note that Simon quite liked Allison Ireheta’s performance of “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”. It almost seemed as if Simon was pushing Allison OVER Lil what with the horrific difference in how he treated each of them.

Although Allison’s performance was very pretty for this tune I did not recognize at all. In fact, I nominate Allison as coming in with the second best performance for American Idol 2009 Movie Night.

Anoop Desaid sang “Everything I Do” and Anoop once again was in the bottom three for 2009.

I have already dubbed Anoop as cruise ship/lounge singer material. He does not have a discernable genre or a particularly outstanding vocal talent. Sure, it was pretty and Kari said it was Anoop’s best performance to date. Which it might have been, it might have been. And yet Anoop was in the bottom three.

The bigger race here is who is going to hang in there the longest, Anoop or Lil.

4.14.09 AI09 movie night montage

As has been the case during the past five weeks, Adam Lambart gave the best performance. Adam sang “Born To Be Wild” and with that song choice right there, and with Adam singing it, you’ve got a winner. Simon, however, in his pushing of Allison, had to cast a pall over Allison’s main competitor, which would be Adam. Simon said that while he thought Adam’s performance was good, he thought last week’s was better.

Simon also made a comment that is true in a sense but I think it needs more clarification. Simon said that he thought that half of America would like his performance and half would not.

In a manner, I think Simon’s statement is true. I, for example, as a rather typical middle-aged type of woman, would not likely purchase an Adam Lambert record or see him in concert. His singing style is not the stuff I like. I do, however, have the smarts to see a born entertainer when one is singing and showing great stuff in front of my lying eyeballs. I am likely that half of America that Simon claims will not like Adam. Yet if I voted for an American Idol this year, I’d vote for Adam. It doesn’t HAVE to be a singer whose music genre coincides with our own. Maybe Simon thinks, like Jenine Garafolo, that we are all idiots out here in la-la land.

Matt Giraud performed while playing the piano. He sang “When You Love a Woman”. I did not like Matt’s performance at all and, in fact, Matt was voted off on elimination night.

The judges saved Matt although I think that was a waste of time. Simon, who I give a lot of grief in my narrative, did try to talk sense, stating he thought Giraud didn’t have a chance to win this thing. A truth, he’ll never beat Adam, Allison or Lil for that matter.

The worst performance of the night, however, was Danny’s pitchy rendition of “Endless Love”. I did not think this awful tune and performance of same should have sent Gokey home as the three bottom deserved their places, but it was the worst of the Movie night performances.

Kris Allen is a contender I have yet to enjoy. Although on this “movie” night, I quite enjoyed Allen’s performance. I was unfamiliar with Allen’s song choice, titled “Falling Slowly”. I sure liked it thought and thought his long falsetto at the end was perfect.

Every week I don’t much like Kris Allen and every week the judges love him. This week I give Kris the number three performance of the week and Randy doesn’t like him. The following night Simon, who didn’t comment on Allen’s tune on performance night as due to time constraints only two judges at a time were allowed to critique, asserted that Allen’s performance was superb.
