It was a somewhat boring MasterChef show as the dozen or so remaining contenders are culled down.

The contenders were formed into two teams, Red and Blue, with Katie and Nathan team captains.

The challenge was for the teams to prepare a Sweet 16 birthday for a large group celebrating that birthday. The party attendees were then charged with voting for their favorite of the two meals presented.

The Blue team prepared a chicken and bacon concoction, alas the chicken was raw before Chef Ramsay caught it.

You always got to have a raw food presented on these shows as a lecture for us viewers.

DO NOT SERVE RAW FOOD, is the message. YOU CAN KILL PEOPLE!!!

The Red prepared a shrimp meal and it won with a notable 80% of the votes.

The resulting pressure test required the Blue Team losers to prepare a three layer birthday cake.

Shaun won the cake challenge with Alejandro from Venezuela being sent home.

The next Master Chef will be for two hours with a double elimination.
