Rita Cosby Leaving Fox
Scuttlebutt has it that Rita Cosby is leaving Fox news. She supposedly signed a contract with MSNBC a month ago. Also rumored, Fox refused to renew her contract.

I’ve always like Rita and hate to see her leave Fox. I suspect Rita had a knack for getting information out of interviewees that others could not.

Not to fear, Rita. I’ll watch you on MSNBC.

”Pink Panther” Re-Make Pulled from 2005 Summer Season
Steve Martin, besides being an anti-American idiot, will never replace Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther series.

I’m thinking this concern is evident by the fact that the movie was pulled from an August date until February of next year.

From SMH.com
A remake of The Pink Panther starring Steve Martin has been chopped from the lucrative summer cinema season in the US.

The New York Times reported that the movie, scheduled for release on August 5, needed more time to be marketed correctly.

Martin was to play Inspector Clouseau, the role made famous by Peter Sellers. The new release date is February 10.

The remake also stars Kevin Kline, Jean Reno and Beyonce.

Brook Shields Making Nicey-Nice with Nutball Tom Cruise
By the way… Yes we heard that Tom and his daughter, oops, girlfriend, Katie Holmes, got engaged.

It’s a fake engagement by a fake heterosexual star.

We are not fooled.
Original Blog post about Shields/Cruise feud HERE

From the Daily Dish:
SHIELDS WILLING TO PATCH THINGS UP WITH CRUISE

Stunning actress Brooke Shields wants to bring an end to her feud with Tom Cruise, following a very public war of words.

The former "Suddenly Susan" star, 40, had lashed out at Cruise after he criticized her for using antidepressants to ease her post-partum depression.

But Shields is now willing to end the feud -- and even plans to see his upcoming movie.

She tells People magazine, "I'll see him in 'War of the Worlds.'

"I agree with him about his feeling on prescribing drugs to kids. We are in accord. I don't think Ritalin should be prescribed to kids."

But Shields insists that Cruise took his comments one step too far, adding, "Post-partum depression is a different matter. I think I'm more qualified to talk about that (than he is)."

Baba Wawa Takes Exception to Breast Feeding
It’s been all the dish this past week.

Seems the women on “The View” take offense at breast-feeding mothers.

Michelle Malkin on Townhall.com
So when Barbara Walters gets on an airplane accompanied by her hairdresser -- what world-famous, Very Important Person doesn't? -- you can imagine the distress of being seated next to an ordinary mom who had the nerve to nurse her child in Barbara Walters' presence.

The nerve! (Or, rather, the newve .)

"It made me very nervous," Barbara Walters complained last month on "The View," her ABC morning talk show hosted by a klatch of elitist women posing as your chatty best friends next door. (If, that is, your door happens to be located in Manhattan or the Hamptons or Beverly Hills.)

Barbara Walters attacked the offensive nursing mom further: "She didn't cover the baby with a blanket. It made us uncomfortable."

Runaway Bride Strikes Movie Deal
She was fined $15,000 for using up police resources for her fake disappearance. Then she strikes a movie and book deal rumored to be over $50,000.

From the AP:
ATLANTA (AP) - Runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks made a deal with a
company that is pitching a movie about her life to networks - annoying officials who spent thousands of dollars searching for her.

ReganMedia, a New York multimedia company, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for a story in Thursday's papers it has acquired all media rights to the "life stories" of Wilbanks and her fiance, John Mason.

The company did not say whether any money had changed hands.

"I am looking forward to developing the scripted project with Wilbanks and Mason," company president Judith Regan said in a statement.

"Theirs is an unexpected and compelling story of love and forgiveness that has certainly taught me a thing or two."

Where Are They Now?
Although not even part of the top two in the 2005 American Idol competition, Mikalah Gordon and Constantine Maroulis are still making the celebrated rounds.

The copyright wouldn’t let me copy the picture, but below is the caption.
Singer Mikalah Gordon ("American Idol") arrives at the American Society of Young Musicians' 13th Annual Spring Concert Awards at the House Of Blues on June 9, 2005 in West Hollywood, California.

And, get this, below the caption for Maroulis. Note the photo was taken by another American Idol finalist, Anwar Robinson.

Mobile Home Owners Still Not Reading the Lease
Damn it hurts me to say I told them so.

But a lease is a lease is a lease. And no mind any politicians looking for votes, they simply cannot overturn a legal document. Refer to my original post on the subject.

Original Blog post HERE

They’re still complaining but it does no good. The bolded text in the quote was already stated by me. Not that this is any genius. But the Delaware politicos have led people to think, in that manner of liberals, that life’s torments and leases can be relieved by a little whining.

Folks, if you own a mobile home either put it on land you own or read the lease carefully. And pay no attention to that liberal behind the curtain promising you monetary relief. You rent land from somebody someday they might reclaim the land for another use.

It’s a fact.

From Delmarvanow.com:
At Pot-Nets, as in most manufactured home communities, homeowners own only their dwellings. They rent the land on which their homes sit.

Tunnell told his audience that they were not misled about rent increases based on market rates, saying that language has long been a part of the contract tenants sign when they move into his manufactured home communities.

Not Quite an ”I Told You So”
But I did say I would believe a cut in Delaware’s gross receipts tax when I saw it.

So a Republican email (using the word “Republican” loosely here as it applies in Delaware”) I discover that there WAS, in fact, a reduction in Delaware’s gross receipts tax.

But they gave away the store to get it!

Full day kindergarten for anyone who wants it! And ten million a year for the state’s farmland preservation program! A program the farmers certainly don’t want.

Nanny Minner screwed you guys.
My Blog post on Delaware’s gross receipt tax.

From a Republican email:
The gross receipts package is less than the plan originally proposed by House Republicans, which included a 25 percent rollback for all businesses and additional relief for supermarkets that was not included in Wednesday's announcement.

"You never get everything you want from the legislature," said A. Richard Heffron, a lobbyist for the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce.

"At least every business gets the across-the-board cut, and that will help small businesses."

Gov. Minner and lawmakers agreed to earmark the first $10 million each year from the state's tax on real estate transactions to fund the state's farmland preservation program. The initiative has had to rely on annual allocations that could fluctuate.

"We have been working on this since 1991," said Lorraine Flemming of the Preservation Coalition.

"It's been a long haul. Persistence pays."

The operating budget will include the $3 million Gov. Minner sought to continue implementation of her full-day kindergarten program in four districts.

By the 2008 school year, the governor wants every school district to offer full-day kindergarten for any student who wants it.

To pacify some legislators' concerns, the budget will include language requiring districts to continue offering at least one half-day class and transportation for students wanting to attend it.

Thanking Joe Biden Once Again for Amtrak
This is not a Delaware issue, per se.

But everyone knows that the honorable Joseph Biden loves Amtrak for his commute to Washington from Delaware. Not to mention transportation to all his TV appearances.

So as a reminder:
ANOTHER TAXPAYER RAILROAD JOB

"Amtrak spends $2.06 for every $1 it earns on its food and beverage service as a result of a bad contract and poor management, federal watchdogs told a congressional subcommittee yesterday. The losses totaled nearly $245 million between fiscal 2002 and 2004, according to the Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress. Amtrak is operating with a $1.2 billion federal subsidy this year and is seeking $1.82 billion for fiscal 2006."

Now on to the Serious Stuff
God bless her.

Miss Delaware wants to eliminate domestic violence.

Good luck, sweetheart.

First you’ll have to get rid of Delaware’s perverted state police superintendents.
