Heading Toward the LIVE Grand Finale…I’m Pretty Sure Who Will Win

I’m not at all sure I understand the challenge on which the eventual winner of “Celebrity Apprentice” 2008 will be decided.

There will be music, a grand party type of event, food, and, of course, celebrities. Because if The Donald worships anything, he worships celebrities. The Celebrated will save the world and if you don’t have celebrities in your surround, then you are a nobody.

Of course the title of the contest is Celebrity Apprentice so I should stop complaining. But it sure does seem as if every damn task was based on the team’s ability to bring in celebrities; Omarosa couldn’t get any celebrities; Steve Baldwin doesn’t get enough celebrities; Trace Adkins’ celebrity friends are too far away; everyone knows Lennox Lewis because he’s a celebrity; celebrity, celebrity, celebrity.

In preparation for the upcoming grand celebrity charity event, Piers Morgan managed to bring in Her Royal Highness Sarah Ferguson, the fat redhead married to light-in-the-loafers Prince Andrew. The woman had on a pair of stockings that should be illegal.

Trace Adkins is chartering two jets to bring in all of his celebrity friends and Steven Baldwin can’t get any celebrities, as usual.

My mind swims with the pressure of finding celebrities while I wouldn’t want to spend ten minutes in the company of most of the famous people I know although I would make an exception for The Donald. And I only make such an exception just so I could tell him that it’s time he get a decent hair style because fame and fortune does not prevent one from looking stupid and that thing on his head makes him look very stupid. I’d also like to tell The Donald that it wouldn’t hurt him to spend some time with the little people, that the little people make the world go round.

Ah, well…my rant is over. I’ve rather enjoyed this Apprentice series although I know it was heavily scripted. I do have some suggestions as to how to improve the show should it have received enough of an audience to bring it back next year.

For now, on to the final task and who will likely win the title of Celebrity Apprentice.

3/20/08 montage both teams for charity task Celebrity Apprentice

On the episode which aired on 3/20/08, The Donald summoned the four remaining contenders, which were Trace Adkins, Carol Alt, Lennox Lewis, and Piers Morgan by this time. Trump then, along with his daughter and son, ruminated on which two of this foursome should be fired. This episode was a great lesson in wasting time as the grand finale is scheduled for this coming Thursday, 3/27/08 in a two hour live drama. Thus it became necessary to spread out this episode so that all the jobs, tasks and dramatic scenes come for this upcoming finale.

Trump hemmed and hawed and finally fired Lennox Lewis and Carol Alt. This left Trace Adkins, a 6’7” cowboy country singer with a deep voice and a big heart, and Piers Morgan, a smallish curly-haired redheaded Brit who has been scripted as very evil for this reality series although come on, the guy raised thousands of dollars for families of fallen soldiers! How bad can he be?

Trump then brought in Carol Alt, Lennox Lewis, Marilu Henner and Stephen Baldwin and allowed Trace and Piers to pick two out of this group to form 3 people teams which would then pull off the “Celebrity Apprentice”’s grand finale challenge.

Trace Adkins chose Lennox Lewis and Marilu Henner for his Empresario team, which left the Hydra team headed by Piers Morgan with Carol Alt and Stephen Baldwin as his team members.

Each team was charged with overseeing certain aspects of this big party. Piers’ team would be in charge of the live auction and catering while Trace’s team was in charge of entertainment and décor.

Both teams are to get items for the live auction and somehow the amount of celebrities coaxed to attend the event will also be part of the judging.

I’m not sure what Sarah Ferguson will bring to the event but The Backstreet Boys will provide the entertainment.

How the rest pans out will be part of the live finale. Click in next week when I give a final summary on this series plus my most valued advice to The Donald as to what he needs to do if he wants this reality show to continue on.

For now, let me state that I think Trace Adkins is going to win the title of “Celebrity Apprentice”. This script has practically written itself here.

First, Trace Adkins’ chosen charity is an organization which does research into food and other allergies. Trace has a daughter who evidently suffers from many food allergies and he’s vowed that he will make as much money as he can to help his daughter and others like her.

Second, Trace Adkins has yet to win one dime for his charity. Although Adkins has been a fine team member and is generally liked by everyone involved on his team, either Trace’s team lost when he was Project Manager or he was unfortunate enough to be on a losing team as just a player. Adkins’ team should have won the Quiznos challenge for sure so this likeable cowboy has had some bad luck.

Third, it’s been carefully scripted to make Piers the villain in this series. Piers Morgan, why the man’s not even an American! So what a better contest than the affable American cowboy versus the evil little Brit?

Piers Morgan has raised plenty of money for his charity and it’s time Trace had a turn.

Thus and based on my carefully enumerated contentions, I predict that Trace Adkins will be this year’s “Celebrity Apprentice”.
