Quote(s) of the Week
GOP KILLS BRIDGE TO NOWHERE

"Every once in a while, after exhausting every other plausible alternative, Congress does the right thing. On Tuesday, the House of Representatives voted to prohibit federal funds from being used to build a celebrated bridge to connect the Alaska town of Ketchikan to Gravina Island, population 50. The bridge, known across America as the 'Bridge to Nowhere,' became such a symbol of federal spending excess that polls found that more Americans knew about the bridge than knew the name of their local congressman. Credit goes to Rep. Mark Kirk of Illinois for pushing through the money-saving amendment that nixed the project on Tuesday."

- Stephen Moore, Political Diary, 6/15/06

Book Review. The book is "Open Secrets" by Carlton Stowers.

Joy Aylor was a real doozy of a lady. Beautiful, monied and priveleged, the woman cavalierly contracted to have people around her murdered if they annoyed her.

This book is about the endless attempts by authorities to actually TRACK the lovely Ms. Aylor as she travelled around the world to avoid her justice.

Joy Aylor was a real pip and read the review why it was what was at the back of the book that was the real surprise.

Also, a tribute to Guest Writer Michelle's cat, Smudge.

Time for a True Crime post and may I mention that my Blog has been swamped this past weekend with searches on the Jonbenet Ramsey story? I do, as expected, have one of the better summaries of this crime.

This week we have prosthetic limbs as weapons, a lady who transmitted HIV for revenge, that strange story of the 16 year old going to PAlestine.

Also, a couple of stupid criminal stories that are better than average.

A famed Maryland publisher is found dead. They are calling it suicide. I have my doubts.

A good story on the Mayor and cocaine, the new Lisa Montgomery true crime book, info on Cynthia McKinney and the Steeler football player arrested for domestic assault.

    Time for some Political Tidbits.

We've got information on Geno's Steaks what demands everyone speak English and the liberals' retribution at such a bizarre notion.

Some info on last week's Iraq resolution in congress, a Saddam trial update and Haditha's famed "human rights group"...heh.

Gotta tune in to see the LA Times "big" story on how Bill Clinton will handle the job of First Gentleman.

Plus McKinney update and some hilarity over Jack Murtha's silly beyond silly "Okinawa" suggestion.

Finally, a George Dubya affair rumor. Might boost his ratings, who knows?

What we have here is a Miscellany post.

Here's some bits and pieces of life that aren't enough for one post but are intriguing, even funny, compiled as Miscellany.

We have the one and only review of Fox's "Hell's Kitchen". Read why this blogger will never watch it again.

Also, gotta check in to see the baby wren pics and the story of their scary fledging.

Finally, heh. Myself attended some sort of Art Festival last week in Ocean City, Maryland.

It's a rant folks. A real rant about the famed sculptor and how his testicles ruled the day.

Time for a Pop Culture Update.

This week, a notice to check that old LP connection. For there's a Beatle album that's worth thousands if you've got it.

Also, top ten wimpy cars of 2006, the unbelievable story of Jacko and the Nanny, a robot panda bear (we're not making this up) and some Blind Item Fun.

Plus a rant about that Matt Lauer and Britney interview. Britney pees upon our feet and tells us it's raining. Also, an American Idol 2006 update involving Taylor Hicks and a rapper.

Finally, a former "Friend" gives it another try. Heh.

Here's TWO book reviews for two great books.

By the mistress of True Crime, Ann Rule, or course.

In "Bitter Harvest" we have a mother who burns her children a live.

In "Heart Full of Lives" we have a woman who murders her husband as he sleeps.

Both women were very sucessful, well-traveled. One was a doctor, the other a photographer and writer. Both women were wealthy and SHOULD have been extremely happy with their lives.

Ann Rule does an amazing job with these tales of True Crime.

  • Tuesday 6/20/06

If ever a True Crime book needed writing it would be the story of Judge Weller and the Mack family.

In this True Crime update we have the latest on the Reno judge shot as he stood by his office window and the man who did the deed.

Also, latest on the Winkler murder plus some thoughts on so-called hate crime.

A sunbather is ran over by an SUV driven by the police and a very unbelievable story about a "mercy snake killing".

    True Crime Update 6/20/06

  • Wednesday 6/21/06

In this Political Tidbits we have a Mississippi governor hosting an "obesity summit". Plus, the Environmental Protection Agency celebrates "diversity week"…why?

Plus that lying pic about our marines, the top ten presidential legacies and some nastiness from the left over Ann Coulter and Zarkawi you'll not believe.

    Political Tidbits 6/21/06

  • Thursday 6/22/06

Time for a Garden update. With some pics of the gardens growing and a new flower that promises glory of "funeral" proportions. Heh.

It's deep in the heart of spring and the wren's nest in the pig planter is coming along fine. With a little help from a very protective robin.

Oh, a baby blue jay is saved and a snake story that will make your skin crawl.

    Gardens, Birds and Snakes 6/22/06

  • Friday 6/23/06

Here's a Pop Culture update and in honor of the World Cup we have a pic of an amazing billboard.

Also, she's addicted to surgery, Alec Baldwin and therapy, Ice Cube and Oprah.

Oh, and why is Darryl Hannah chained to a tree and a fish "catch" you won't believe.

    Finally, some Blind Item Fun.

    Quote(s) of the Week
DEMS JUST SAY "NO" TO PHOTO ID

"Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell brought a sensible idea to the Senate floor yesterday as part of the immigration bill debate, something that hasn't happened as often as one might have hoped. He suggested that with 12 million illegal immigrants in the country, it made sense to have voters show a photo ID before they vote.

"...The eyebrow-raising news is that every Democratic senator opposed what would appear to be a no-brainer of an idea. . . . A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll last month found that 80% of Americans favored a requirement that photo ID be shown at the polls, with only 7% opposed. Nonetheless, every Democratic senator lined up in opposition -- a clear a sign that the interest groups that support Democrats must feel threatened by the idea of ballot security."

    - John Fund, Political Diary, 5/25/06

  • Monday 6/12/06

    Here's TWO Book Reviews.

One is by Amber Frey of Scott Peterson fame.

The other is by Mike Wallace of "60 Minutes Fame".

One was okay. The other was a total indulgence of a dishonest has-been.

It's Amber's book which is way better than blow-dried anchorman Wallace.

Time for a True Crime Update.

This time, instead of a stupid criminal alert, we have a very SMART criminal alert.

Also, update on "bikini murder" and fine fellow who slaughtered an entire family.

We also have a rollicking "kitty party", strange things happening to 6-year-olds, and oh yeah, "Intermittant Explosive Disorder". I think I might have it. Heh.

  • Wednesday 6/14/06

Here's some Political Tidbits, bits and pieces of life as a political elite and how it affects thou and me.

We've got a new "parachute" for the military. And how is murderer Thomas Capano connected to Beau Biden, son of Delaware's Joe?

Also, McKinney update, turn in your guns and ex-prez Jimmah and dirty money.

    Political Tidbits 6/14/06

  • Thursday 6/15/06

Precious Kaitlyn Mae spent three days with Grandmother for the first time.

So why is this post mostly about McDonalds?

Also, a Guest Writer is amused by the microwave. Or could it be what she was microwaving?

    Kaitlyn/Microwave Post

  • Friday 6/16/06

Time for a Pop Culture Update.

Looking for a house? Got just the one for a mere 8 million, already decorated.

We've got a Dixie Chick and American Idol update. Oh, and the Food Police are on the prowl. Who hired them?

Plus a pic of the Brad/Angelina baby just because everyone else has one. A Brittany quote for snorts, paper cell phones and, of course, some juicy Blind Item Fun.

Men and women are different in the morning. We men wake up aroused in the morning. We can't help it. We just wake up and we want you. And the women are thinking, "How can he want me the way I look in the morning?" It's because we can't see you. We have no blood anywhere near our optic nerve.

Here's a Book Review of a very intriguing True Crime and a well-written one to boot.

Betty Gore was hacked to death with an axe. Many of the bloody blows were delivered AFTER Betty was dead.

Yet her murder was ruled "self-defense".

Info on pets and hurricanes and some real yuks about Canada and the Islamofacists they adore.

Oh, and Merryland's laws that you must pray never come to your state.
