Campaign 2008-Why I Am No Longer a Republican; 3/4/08 Primary Commentary

We have a new weekly feature here on the Kaitlyn Mae Book Blog. Since this is an election year, we'll have "Campaign 2008" on Wednesdays as required.

This week, why I quit the Republican party and the results of Tuesdays 3/4/08 primaries, the meaning and what happens next.

TIDBITS

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION IN YOUR KITCHEN...

The best way to save time cleaning is to not allow things to get dirty. Here are some very simple and clever things you can do quickly now to avoid heavy cleaning later.

** Make Potholders & Tablecloths Unstainable **
Spray new potholders and tablecloths with spray starch. This will prevent greasy stains and keep them looking likenew. Reapply starch after laundering.

** Prevent Refrigerator Odors **
Place an uncovered cup of baking soda in the refrigerator.
Replace every three months.

Baking soda handy helper tidbits

** Make Stainless Steel Surfaces Spot-Resistant **
After cleaning and drying (white vinegar works well), polish stainless steel with a little baby oil and buff it.

** Refrigerator Vegetable Bins **
Line these with paper towels to absorb moisture. When they begin to get damp, use them to wipe out the bins and then replace with fresh paper towels.

** Kitchen Trash Can **
Sprinkle a small amount of fresh kitty litter in the bottom of the trash can to absorb moisture and odors. Replace when it gets damp.

So go ahead. Take your microphone and video camera out on any street in the land and ask any conservative how joyful they are now that John McCain has secured the Republican nomination.

You will be overwhelmed with the smiles and tears of abundant happiness expressed at the prospect of having this fellow as their nominee.

Pay no attention to the fact that Mike Huckabee got over 30% of the vote in Ohio AND Texas as indicator of anything. Those people are just a bunch of people with a real bad attitude.

For while John McCain seems to polarize so many of the conservative ideal logy, one sure sign that nothing could be further from the truth, just ask any Republican/Conservative what they think of their nominee and their obvious joy says volumes.

    NOT.

    Heh.

It’s one of the saddest things this election year that the guy who will represent my own small faction of the political spectrum makes absolutely no one save his wife Cindy happy.

Many of my sort will grimace and say nothing. Many will hold their nose and vote for the fine, even-tempered McCain for fear of the ultimate…Obama yo Mama or Hillary Rodham. Many might curse the darkness with no hope for any light in the near future.

He’s John McCain, folks. And this man HATES Conservatives.

    Hates them.

    You say not?

Get outta here. McCain voted FOR amnesty for illegals. He voted FOR campaign finance reform, a law that can land you in jail if say anything nasty about a candidate thirty days before an election. A fine conservative principle, that one.

McCain voted AGAINST drilling for oil in our own country. He voted AGAINST the Bush tax cuts, he and only one other Republican. He created a group of Lords in America’s House of Lords called the Gang of 14 who would join together to fight against Bush court nominees and any Republican notion that Supreme court nominees require a simply majority approval as called for in the constitution but would continue the farce known as filibustering.

McCain voted FOR fetal stem cell research, he espouses the importation of the terrorists at Gitmo that they may receive all the legal rights of an American, paid for by taxpayers of course.

What’s that? You say he’s great for the war on terror?

    Heh.

McCain systematically lambasted this country’s Secretary of Defense for almost the whole time of Rumsfeld’s tenure, lambasted him publicly and as nasty as a young child who thinks the ball should be his. Somehow, go with me here, I have problems with an alleged warrior who issues scathing attacks on the country’s Secretary of Defense. It just doesn’t seem the polite thing to do is what I’m saying here.

Oh, and please let’s not forget how McCain, in 2004, stood proudly and asserted that the Swift Boat Veterans who banded together to expose that farce of a man known as John Kerry, and called those veterans LIARS. Wow. What a hero and supporter of our military this McCain fellow is.

Finally, hey John McCain is known widely for his fine, even-temper, his boyish smile, his vaunted reach across the aisle as he slaps his own party and his supporters in the face with this reach.

Perhaps I’m too harsh on the fine, even-tempered John McCain. Let me be more succinct and less hostile here. John McCain’s main problem is…well he’s a DAMN DEMOCRAT!

I cannot stomach that man and will be quitting the Republican party in the near future.

I will register as an Independent because I simply will not support a political party that…hey, lookit, if I wanted to belong to a party with a liberal as their candidate I’d be a Democrat for God’s sake.

    McCain and the NY Times

Even John McCain can’t keep it quiet that he’s really a liberal. Below, I’m serious, the man tells you with his own mouth!

Last night, on the alleged “second super Tuesday”, Hillary began to gain traction over that other national candidate that’s a disaster, we shall call him Barack Rodham Obama.

See, McCain has already reached across his cherished aisle and commanded that we cannot even mention Barack’s middle name. Loyal as I am to the fine, even-tempered John McCain, I shall refrain from mentioning Barack Hussein Obama’s middle name and shall in the future call him Barack Rodham Obama.

Already, before his campaign is even underway, the fine even-tempered John McCain forbids us to even use the opposition’s name, God Bless this brave warrior.

For now, I’d urge all disgruntled conservatives, hey, go ahead and vote for John McCain. When all is said and done I may do the same but I doubt it.

But there’s no rule anywhere that says you need to remain a card carrying Republican. You can still vote for the fine even-tempered John McCain whilst registered as an Independent.

I figure if enough conservatives quit the Republican party, a political party that evidently now represents people who consider themselves “moderates”, well maybe the Republican party might pay attention.

And if not than hey, let the Republicans go where they may. Hey, moderates deserve representation too!

If the Republican party survives a mass exodus from its ranks than good on them. Let them represent the moderates and someday, someway, conservatives will be able to unite and form their own political party.

    Police Dogs Don Fancy Footwear

    From Yahoo.com:
German police dogs to wear shoes

Mon Feb 25, 4:14 PM ET

BERLIN - Police dogs in the western city of Duesseldorf will no longer get their feet dirty when on patrol - the entire dog unit will soon be equipped with blue plastic fiber shoes, a police spokesman said Monday.

"All 20 of our police dogs - German and Belgian shepherds - are currently being trained to walk in these shoes," Andre Hartwich said. "I'm not sure they like it, but they'll have to get used to it."

The unusual footwear is not a fashion statement, Hartwich said, but rather a necessity due to the high rate of paw injuries on duty. Especially in the city's historical old town - famous for both its pubs and drunken revelers - the dogs often step into broken beer bottles.

    Police dog with shoes

"Even the street-cleaning doesn't manage to remove all the glass pieces from between the streets' cobble stones," Hartwich said, adding that the dogs frequently get injured by little pieces sticking deep in their paws.

The dogs will start wearing the shoes this spring but only during operations that demand special foot protection. The shoes comes in sizes small, medium and large and were ordered in blue to match the officers uniforms, Hartwich said.

"Now we just have to teach the dogs how to tie their shoes," he joked.

3-Year Old's Murderers and Tormenters Just, Poof, Walk Free

    From the Times Tribune:
Police suspected Darak Antonio Williams and Kashema Reddish knew more about the death of 3-year-old Kavannah Salvador than they were saying, but lacked sufficient evidence to detain the couple, authorities said Thursday.

The slain child's mother and live-in boyfriend walked out of Scranton police headquarters a week ago. Kavannah's death has since been ruled a homicide, but police have been unable to locate the couple.

I am no expert on police investigations but the circumstances surrounding the death of little Kavannah Salvador were certainly suspicious and the fact that the child's murderers just walked free to disappear perhaps forever is certainly more than suspicious.

Let's begin with the facts. Little Kavannah was being watched by her mother's live-in boyfriend, almost always the beginning point of these child murders. At around 3:30 pm the fine boyfriend calls Kavannah's mother, Kashema, and tells her to come home, that something is wrong with Kavannah. They take Kavannah to the hospital and she is pronounced dead. Hospital personnel were immediately suspicious as to what happened to Kavannah and right from the start knew that the child had been dead for several hours BEFORE she was brought in for medical attention.

Now here's where the story gets weird. Police respond to calls from the hospital about the child's death. Specimens from the child were sent to all the hospital labs and a cat scan was performed.

Meanwhile this fine man and the child's mother were being questioned by Scranton police when the live-in boyfriend got up and simply left the police station! He demanded a lawyer, as is his right, and he and Kavannah's fine mother just, poof, walked away from the homicide of a three-year-old!

After they left the results of all the medical tests on the dead child, remember this is within a few hours after she had been brought in, came in and there were many old injuries on the child found on the cat scan and many bruises and other injuries found on her corpse.

Now help me out here...are you telling me the police could not, in some fashion and under some circumstance, have KEPT these two cretins? Instead they just let them go?

For this fine pair are now gone. And they left behind the fine mother Kashema's other child which is fine as that child's probably better off. But this fine pair are free as the breeze while an innocent child is dead and a deputy district attorney just shrugs his shoulders and says there was nothing he could do, that he was waiting for the medical tests.

This sounds to me like that old disease "lackaballs". The medical people had right away told the investigators that Kavannah was dead long before she was brought to the hospital. Handcuffs should have been slapped on those parents right then and there.

If nothing else, this pair should have had police surveillance assigned to make sure they didn't...well hey, it's possible, what with a dead child and everything, they might try to run away.

I guess the fine Scranton investigators never thought of this.

Fine Proud Fellow Videotapes Rape on Cell Phone

The story as linked infers that at least two fine, proud fellows were involved in the rape of this female. That Vidal guy was likely the one who videotaped the rape. The story suggests there were others involved in the crime.

Wow. I mean just how vain and stupid is it to videotape yourself committing a crime? Not that world won't be a better place with this creep put away for a long time thanks to his fine forensic help.

    From the NewsObserver.com:
    Acosta videotaped a rape

According to arrest warrants, Acosta is charged with raping a 17-year-old female the night of Feb. 15. Another man, 26-year-old Jose Vidal, was charged Feb. 21 in connection with the incident. He faces the same charges.

Drew Peterson's Publicist Strives to Show Us His "Softer" Side

I must say that Glenn Selig has his work cut out for him. For Mr. Selig is a publicist and has the task of creating a softer, more gentle Drew Peterson.

Drew Peterson, for a quick catch up, tends to lose his wives rather strangely. His third wife, Kathleen Savio, died from a fall in the bathtub, a rare occurrence for a healthy woman. His fourth wife, Stacy, has totally disappeared since before Christmas. According to Drew, even as I type Stacy is likely holed up in a motel room with a lover, eating popcorn and laughing at the many search efforts launched to find her. Stacy left her two young children behind and didn't even return during the Christmas holidays.

Now we have this man on The Today Show to be interviewed by wimpy, ball-less Matt Lauer.

Drew Peterson on the Today show

    From the Chicago Tribune:
Before appearing on NBC's "Today" show Thursday, Drew Peterson had a conversation with his recently hired publicist: Maybe it was time for the public to see another side of Drew.

"He's a nice guy. He's a normal guy, and that's what people needed to see. I wasn't creating someone that he wasn't. I just want people to see another side of him," said publicist Glenn Selig. "I think it has begun."

Go with me here, Drew Peterson is NOT a "nice guy" or a "normal guy". He might be a good actor but fellows whose wives disappear like this guy's are not nice and they're not normal.

I think these blatant attempts to prejudice a potential jury pool will not work. We have lots of common sense out here in la-la land which is why they choose US to serve on juries. We know that men whose wives keep dying or disappearing all about are not the norm. Duh.

    Meanwhile, From Foxnews.com:
Drew Peterson's two sons with third wife Kathleen Savio are expected to appear Thursday morning before a grand jury investigating the death of their mother, FOX News' Greta Van Susteren reported.

Drew Peterson was certainly a fertile fellow and he tended to have at least two children with wives he wed after successfully getting rid of the prior wife. Two of Drew's sons will now be given a chance to testify before a grand jury now investigating the death of their mother Kathleen Savio who did NOT, as it would turn out, slip and fall in the bath tub to cause her death. Heh.

The fine investigators into that so-called natural death too need to be brought before a grand jury, not that Drew Peterson isn't a cop of anything and hey, I'll throw it out there, could his co-cops have given the man a pass on the death of his wife?

Twin Gay Porn Stars Moonlight as Burglars

If ever a crime and a pair of criminals could be called "cool" it has to be these dudes.

First, it took a New Jersey task force 18 MONTHS to get these guys. With but a hacksaw and few other tools, this twin pair would managed to get into various businesses included beauty shops, WAWA's and, we're not making this up, a "Wings to Go". They took cash, of course, but also, well since they were already inside, cigarettes and condoms.

Condoms they need evidently for their other life of gay porn stars.

Reading on at the link below, this is one talented pair of identical twins. They deal drugs as required, star in porn films and have, on occasion, actually been legitimate male models.

    From Philly.com:
    twin porn stars and burglars

TWINS Keyontyli and Taleon Goffney have been arrested for allegedly breaking into area businesses by cutting rooftop holes to gain entry. Turns out, they were also just as skilled at breaking into their second, more respectable careers - as hardcore gay-porn stars.

The Strange Case of the Livery Driver and the Abandoned Baby

Perhaps yon readers read the story of the NY livery driver who picked up a man with a baby only to have the man leave the cab to make a phone call and never return. Which left the baby alone with the livery driver who turned the child in to local authorities.

For a few days the air waves were filled with pleas for the child's parents to come forward. The livery driver was considered a hero of sorts.

Only the story as it truthfully emerged was stranger than any fiction I could write.

The livery driver, Klever Sailema, as it would turn out, never picked up a man with a baby. The story of how Mr. Sailema ended up with Daniella, the baby believed to be around 6 months old, is a complicated one. The tale involves a whole bunch of people all sharing an apartment with Sailema, including the child's mother and father.

The father was the one so desperate that he enlisted Sailema in a scheme to get the kid to social services as he could not raise the child alone. The child's mother, alleged to be only 14 years old, left the father and the baby accusing the baby's father of abusing her. The baby's mother is also in custody of protective services.

It seems that with the child's father living with Sailema the livery driver as well as the baby, and with no one able to care for the child, a complicated scheme was planned involving the creation of a story of babies left in livery carriages and innocent livery carriage drivers simply doing the right thing.

It is legal in NY for a baby to be left at an appropriate place, such as hospitals, fire departments, etc, within a month of birth with no questions asked. This was to prevent the abandonment or outright murder of babies parents cannot care for. THIS baby was too old to be part of that program, thus the complicated story.

    From the NY Times
The livery cab driver had become something of a hero on Thursday after turning in a baby girl he said had been abandoned in his cab by a man he had picked up on a street in Queens.

When all is said and done, that pretty baby, a pic included at the link as well as the livery driver, it's probably for the best as she will be given a foster home where she is loved and protected.

A Strange Case of Road Rage

This is a very odd story involving two teenaged sisters, a motorcyclists hyped on road rage, and a father who shot the motorcyclist and killed him.

    From AJC.com:
Bogart - A man is facing a murder charge after authorities say he shot and killed a motorcyclist who followed his daughters home from a department store.

Richard Harold Gear, 45, claimed he was acting in self-defense when he shot Bryan Joseph Mough around 6:45 p.m. Monday as Mough drove his motorcycle past Gear's house, Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry said.

It's not clear at the link provided above if Mr. Gear has yet been charged with the murder of the motorcyclist he shot and killed after his daughters phoned him from their car fearful of the motorcyclist they claimed was following them.

Mr. Gear got a gun and waited in front of his house for his daughters' car. When they arrived, followed by this rogue motorcyclist intent on doing who knows what, Gear shot the guy and killed him.

According to Gear's daughters, there was a road rage incident in the parking lot of a local shopping center when the motorcyclist cut them off, one of the sisters flipped him the finger in anger and the motorcyclist proceeded to follow them ruthlessly until they called their father in fear.

    Gear Motorcycle murder

Now, assuming this is the truth, I'll never believe that any one of the players in this tragic drama did the right thing. The motorcyclist, Bryan Mough, had no right following these girls and terrorizing them no mind the flipped finger. Those girls should have headed to the closest police station or maybe phoned 911 since they had a cell phone. The father too should have advised his daughters to go to the police or even HE could have called the police with info on what is going on.

This all assumes this tragic tale as reported is true because I'm not at all sure this would be considered self-defense.

    Wayne Dumond Redux

Sometimes the victim of a crime contributes to their own victim status.

The story below reminds me of Wayne Dumond, the fine Arkansas rapist who convinced many religious folk, including the then Governor Mike Huckabee, that he was as innocent as the pure driven snow. Huckabee arranged for Dumond to get an early parole release and a fine church woman who'd fallen in love with the wonderful Dumond married him upon his release from jail.

Within six months Dumond left his marital bed and raped and killed two more women.

In the story below, another devout church lady too fell in love with a rapist prisoner only her beloved didn't attack and rape another woman. It was SHE who suffered attacks from her fine boyfriend who she loved so very much.

    From Yorkshire Evening Post:
A DEVOUTLY religious prison visitor who fell in love with a convicted rapist serving life at a Yorkshire jail was attacked at knifepoint after she ended their relationship.

TV-"Celebrity Apprentice" Review of Episode Aired 2/28/08; Book Review of Two Scott Peterson Books

Let's visit Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" because it's getting interesting. As for whether this format will reach the popularity of former Apprentice series is anybody's guess. But last week we had Trump all in an uproar his virgin self about Carol Alt's photo montage and we must laugh.

Also, TWO books on the Scott Peterson case reviewed. One by Court TV's famed Catherine Crier and one by Laci Peterson's mother.

    Dial With Yogurt?

It was the "Celebrity Apprentice" 2008 aired on the night of 2/28/08 and a couple of things before going into the meat of the critique.

First, right from the beginning of the show it seemed that the ladies were decked out quite finely in a fashionable sense.

    Celebrity Apprentice fashion montage 2/28/08

Which is of little import except, well I noticed.

Second, the challenge that evening would be for each team to compile a 4 page ad campaign to be used in Redbook magazine. The product advertised would be Dial body wash with yogurt.

Well there's that second thing. I have no great love of food in soap products and I wonder why a soap producer would do such a thing.

Yogurt is considered a healthy foodstuff, I understand this. Yogurt is deemed lower in calories (often NOT true). Yogurt is often suggested as a deterrent to female yeast infections so hey, that's healthy. Yogurt is a pretty food, smooth and creamy and often filled with fine fruit.

Which doesn't mean it belongs in soap but hey, a presence of yogurt in a soap product wouldn't keep me from purchase but it wouldn't necessarily encourage my purchase either.

But, I suppose, that's just me.

I might also mention that Redbook as a happening popular monthly periodical is not happening anymore. Redbook is a desperate magazine so maybe this Trump-fueled publicity will give the struggling magazine a boost. The Internet, web sites, et al are dealing death blows to snail-mailed periodicals across the fruited plains. Which means nothing to the Apprentice task as assigned that night, just my own fine, wise observations.

Empresario appointed Tito as the Project Manager although there was later some dispute that Omarosa should have taken that job and whether she'd hastily shoved it off to Tito or not. Hydra appointed Carol Alt for their side of the task, a good choice in that Alt served as the model for the Dial with Yogurt ad as well as managing the job.

    Celebrity Apprentice 2/28/08 montage

    Celebrity Apprentice montage 2/28/08

The advertising group from Redbook magazine judged both Hydra and Empresario’s submissions and it was Hydra who won the challenge.

Empresario had used a scene employing their team member Trace Adkins as a country crooner singing ballads to a lady relaxing in the bath tub, a visual of all things peace and harmony, an image that Dial with yogurt wanted the Redbook reader to think was caused by the plentiful use of this fine soap.

It was a nice presentation I thought. Omarosa, the only female member of the Empresario team, wanted desperately for the layout to include a picture of two shirtless young stud muffin cowboy types with Trace Adkins, also shirtless, standing between the two, strumming his guitar to a hidden maiden as she bathes with Dial with yogurt. Omarosa’s logic was that she was the female on the team and she knew what women liked. Which would be, in that ad anyway, three handsome and muscular dudes telling female readers about soap with an implication that Dial with yogurt would bring these fellows into your home with ample application of its product.

I think it was a dud of an argument in that three dudes wouldn’t convince me to use soap. The ad layout used by the Hydra team, however, was very good and right on target for the female audience.

The Hydra ad featured Carol Alt in the many roles of a woman. It had her as a mother at the beginning of the layout, holding her baby with soft maternal love. It went on to feature a happening career woman till the layout ended with a pic of Alt laying in bed, her husband playfully biting her on her smooth Dove-with-yogurt softened feminine shoulders while she laughed at her man’s antics.

Now the pic of Alt in bed with her shoulder-nibbling husband got The Donald all upset for some reason. Over and over, to both the Redbook advertising team as well as to all attendees to that’s night board room session, Trump kept commenting that it looks that the woman’s husband was “biting her”.

At one point I wanted to slap Donald Trump silly. Come on! It was obvious from the picture that this was a couple fooling around in bed, both naked, both happy and sharing a smile and some playfulness. I could almost hear the guy saying “You look so good I could eat you,” as he pretended to take a bite of her shoulder. Alt, in her role as the woman as lover, was laughing happily so it’s not like she was in pain from her husband’s “bite”.

Goodness we know Trump is a virgin fellow and I don’t know, maybe he’s never playfully bitten a woman’s shoulder (or any other female part). Maybe when Trump nibbles on a female bed partner he really bites her or something. Because the man carried on like a fool over nothing.

Well hey, a pic of the Hydra ad is above, so take a look. Is there anything about that most innocent of pictures to suggest some sort of sado-masochistic activities going on?

So the Hydra team won, as well they should because Empresario had too much Adkins and cowboy dudes while the Hydra team presented the Dial product in the best possible light to sell the product to the demographic which would likely buy it.

There was some wrestling around about who on Empresario screwed up. Omarosa maintained that had the rest of the team listened to her and featured a shirtless Trace Adkins centered between two younger dudes that the Empresario advertising layout would have bowled over Redbook.

Like I said, even using Omarosa’s idea, which was vetoed by Stephen Baldwin because of his religious sensibilities, I think the Hydra’s presentation would still have outshone Empresario’s. No, Baldwin’s religious sensibilities were not specifically mentioned but it was implied. Tito simply caved to Baldwin’s pressure and ignored Omarosa.

Tito was fired on the night of 2/28/08 as well he should have been.

And Omarosa, for all her bravado, should have known that handsome dudes don’t belong in soap advertisements for women except perhaps, as accessories to the female star.

Montage of Crier book on Scott Peterson

Review of TWO Books on the Scott Peterson

Until these two the only book I’d read about the Scott Peterson case was "WITNESS-Amber Frey's story." When I chanced upon Catherine Crier’s book about this case, “A Deadly Game…the untold story of the Scott Peterson Investigation” I decided to give it a try.

It was a very big book, Crier’s story of the case of Scott Peterson, a murder that captivated the nation. For Scott Peterson, a fine man whose parents are STILL very proud of him, killed his wife Laci while she was eight months along bearing his son, Conner. The wonderful Scott Peterson was smitten, it would seem, with another female, Amber Frey. Laci and their unborn child was a burden on the life that Scott wanted to lead, thus they had to go.

It is believed that Scott strangled or smothered Laci then dumped her body into nearby San Francisco bay. The dismembered bodies of Laci and Conner floated to shore some four months after Scott dumped them, weighted down with homemade cement anchors into their watery graves.

I think that this Crier book was a complete waste of time and I’d suggest that yon reader avoid this tome as the definitive tale of the Scott Peterson case.

First, it was entirely too long. The Crier book could have been half its size and sill did a fine job of detailing the details of the Scott Peterson case. And as for any alleged “untold stories”, there was absolutely nothing new in the Crier book.

Finally, I could have done without Crier’s indulgent lecture against the death penalty she included in the rear of the book.

Hey, it’s a free country and we have freedom of speech. Catherine Crier has a right to her opinion on the death penalty and she has the right to wax on about it in her book.

Hey, I’m a reader and I thought it a lengthy, liberal waste of time and a pile of verbal crap that certainly had no business in a book about the horrific deaths of a beautiful young woman and a baby that never had a chance to breath life’s air.

For if ever the death penalty was required it would be the Scott Peterson case and yes, I suppose that’s why the self-righteous Crier put it there.

I’d offer that most folks bothering to read her book would be of a mind that the sub-human Scott Peterson should not live on after his heartless murder of these two people.

    Reader beware.

    Montage of pics for book

It was also by chance that I came upon the story of the Scott Peterson case from someone knee-deep and suffering from his crime in the book “For Laci”. Who would be Laci’s mother, Sharon Rocha. The book is subtitled “A Mother’s Story of Love, Loss, and Justice.

Now THIS is the book to read for any yon readers who want to know all the details about Scott Peterson, his life, his wife, the investigative and judicial details of his murder.

First, Scott’s parents, Jackie and Lee Peterson. What a couple of losers these people are. Which shouldn’t surprise in that their fine, fine son turned out to be a real winner as well.

Jackie Peterson had a whole bunch of kids she gave up for adoption and I don’t know, maybe this is where Scott got his cavalier attitude that hey, this child’s not convenient, let’s move along. Yes, I’m being mean here but let’s recount one Peterson tale that sums up the morals of these two despicable people.

After Scott’s death penalty punishment was announced, Ron Rocha, Laci’s stepfather, turned to Lee Peterson, Scott’s father, and said “I’m sorry”. This story was detailed in BOTH books reviewed so it’s not a fabrication of the Rochas.

Lee Peterson, fine man who fathered a fine, fine son, responded by saying “Fuck You”.

Fine, fine man. Fine, fine son they produced.

Those two idiots spent millions of their own money to defend their fine spawn and no doubt, idiots and classy folks that they are, still believe Scott is innocent.

The story of Scott Peterson, his lover Amber Frey, his fine parents who gave Scott everything including $15,000 bucks that he could join a country club, the heartache of Sharon Rocha, Laci’s mother left to grieve forever for the loss of her only daughter and her grandson, is all told well in this Rocha book.

Rocha did a fine job of maintaining an even keel in the telling of her story. It was evident she didn’t like Amber Frey and this reader thought she was a bit harsh on that young woman who too suffered pain and heartbreak but still carried on heroically to aid in Scott’s prosecution. Sharon was kind to the Petersons who I’d have punched in the nose several times based on their boorish behavior.

I am waiting for a book by the Petersons defending their fine son’s crime.

    OTHER TRUE CRIME BOOK REVIEWS
    ==============================
    "WITNESS-Amber Frey's story."

She did the right thing in turning in the fine Scott Peterson.

Did anyone ever teach this woman the art of birth control?

    "WITNESS-Amber Frey's story."
    ----------------------------------
    "Tainted Roses"

So here you have it. A truly AWFUL true crime book that I'm bothering to write a review on that readers be warned.

A murderer, Paul Mack...alias Sean Lanier, meets up with a recently divorced woman, sweet talks her into romance and marriage, then is exposed on "America's Most Wanted" to his new wife's horror.

Guess who his wife was? Margie Danielsen.

That's right. The book is written by the "victim" of Sean Lanier and so far as I'm concerned, this woman is a certified idiot.

    "Tainted Roses"
    ----------------------------------
    The Summer Wind-George Anastasia

Anastasia is a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and attended the trial of Capano. His perspective on the reporting is distant and less personal than Rule?s account. If someone held a gun to my head and only had one choice to read about the nefarious Thomas Capano, I'd suggest they go with the Rule version. Maybe it's a woman thing, but Rule always brings that female insight often lacking in the prose of male true-crime writers. Nonetheless, Anastasia did a fine job and his skill as a writer is quite evident.

    The Summer Wind-George Anastasia
    ----------------------------------
"Fatal Analysis" by Dr. Martin Obler and Thomas Clavin

A Book Review of a true crime book "Final Analysis" by Dr. Martin Obler.

It's a good true crime story about a serial killer, his shrink and efforts to stop the killing.

Only thing, although proclaimed to be true, I didn't believe a word of Obler's psychobabble nonsense.

It's almost a sin to classify this book as non-fiction.

"Fatal Analysis" by Dr. Martin Obler and Thomas Clavin
    ----------------------------------
    Shattered" by Debra Puglisi Sharp

Also, a Book Review of a book by an author that promised me an interview but she didn't deliver. I read the book anyway, here's the review but I don't think much of people making promises they don't keep.

She was held hostage by a crack-crazed nut for six days, hog-tied and repeatedly raped and tortured until she finally got to the phone to freedom.

It's a compelling book, this "Shattered" by Debra Puglisi Sharp.

Too bad she's not a woman of her word for all her heroism.

    Shattered" by Debra Puglisi Sharp
    ----------------------------------
    "Unspeakable Acts" by Jan Worthington

A True Crime Book Review of "Unspeakable Acts". This book is more accurately a tome. Half of it could have been deleted. For this tale of two hippie doctors eliciting tales of abuse in a daycare center in the hysteria of the mid-80's is almost entirely fiction.

This is a great study of how the Lamestream Media creates a story from thin air.

    "Unspeakable Acts" by Jan Worthington
    ----------------------------------
    "Missing Beauty"

A True Crime book review-"Missing Beauty" by Teresa Carpenter, tells the story of a very intelligent scientist who gets caught up in the world of prostitution, drugs...and murder.

    "Missing Beauty"
    ----------------------------------
    "Unfinished Murder" by James Neff

A book review, "Unfinished Murder" by James Neff. The book title is indicative of a True Crime that is considered by many to be a killing crime not quite complete. He's a serial rapist and this is a story of his life and how he got caught.

    "Unfinished Murder" by James Neff
    ----------------------------------
2 BOOKS ON JONBENET RAMSEY-PERFECT MURDER, PERFECT TOWN-Lawrence Shiller, JONBENET BY DETECTIVE STEVE THOMAS

It was never my intention to become an expert on the Jonbenet Ramsey case, but given my complete and total absorption in the two books most recently read following the colon, I must say I'm pretty much up to snuff on all the players, suspects and victim: "Jonbenet" by Detective Steve Thomas; "Perfect Murder, Perfect Town" by Lawrence Schiller.

    2 BOOKS ON JONBENET RAMSEY
    ----------------------------------
"Evidence of Love" by John Bloom and Jim Atkinson

I could not put this book down.

For if ever there were two couples so very, very odd while appearing for all the world to be so perfectly normal, it would be the Montgomerys and the Gores of Collin County, Texas.

Then there was the Methodist church and the strange preachers combined with weirdly devoted parishioners and oddball church-sanctioned "marriage counseling" that added to the reader's perception that this book HAD to be fiction; surely churches and normal people don't behave like this.

"Evidence of Love" by John Bloom and Jim Atkinson
    ----------------------------------

"A Wife's Revenge" by Eric Francis

A rather unique book review here. We've got "A Wife's Revenge" by Eric Francis. Coincidentally as I read this book this story of Susan Wright was featured on CBS' "48 Hours".

Thus we have video of this book's subject, a pretty woman who killed her husband in a most heartless and horrific manner.

What with last year's Miss USA, Tara Reid, and all the hoopla around that winner's almost demise, I just had to tune in for this year's Miss USA pageant.

I must say that Trump has overhauled the matronly concept of a beauty pageant without going into sleaze.

It's hip, happening, and we've got lots of pics you'll see nowhere else on the Internet.

Also, a review of the movie "PRIME" starring Meryl Streep. It's got a clever and laughable plot yet Streep brings an element of fine acting to this tale of a Psychologist whose patient is having an affair with her son.

We've some exploding True Crime this week.

The lovely John Couey got the death penalty and NY cops indicted for the bridegroom shooting.

I've got a couple of stories about female teachers and adolescent loves. One story is so tragic and illustrates very well a very unintended consequence of what we might laugh off as a young boy's lustful dream.

A lovely Dad stabs and tosses his baby out the window and a missing Georgia boy found. Were his relatives hiding his crime like Couey's relatives hid Jessica?

    Joke(s) of the Week
    Gifts for the Teacher

It was the end of the school year, and a kindergarten teacher was receiving gifts from her pupils. The florist's son handed her a gift. She shook it, held it overhead, and said, "I bet I know what it is. Some flowers."

"That's right" the boy said, "but how did you know?" "Oh, just a wild guess," she said.

The next pupil was the sweet shop owner's daughter. The teacher held her gift overhead, shook it, and said, "I bet I can guess what it is. A box of sweets."

"That's right, but how did you know?" asked the girl. "Oh, just a wild guess," said the teacher.

The next gift was from the son of the liquor store owner. The teacher held the package overhead, but it was leaking. She touched a drop of the leakage with her finger and touched it to her tongue.

    "Is it wine?" she asked.

"No," the boy replied, with some excitement.

The teacher repeated the process, taking a larger drop of the leakage to her tongue. "Is it champagne?" she asked.

"No," the boy replied, with more excitement. The teacher took one more taste before declaring, "I give up, what is it?"

With great glee, the boy replied, "It's a puppy!"
